 We’re looking at how to handle material master data that is owned outside Windchill (ERP/PIM) but is needed inside Windchill on parts and BOM structures. When busy with some administrative task today i noticed that under  <My Organisation> > Utilities > Participant Administration I have the Option Create Organisation.When creating such sub organisation(<My Organisation / My Sub Organisation>) and a bit fiddling around with it I noticed the followingI can add users to it but the Users Domain / Cabinet is still <My Organisation> and not <My organisation / My Sub Organisation> I don't see my suborganisation in the Organisations list (Browse > Organisations) If a user belongs to <My Organisation / My Sub Organisation>, where is no administrative Level, So the user can only be administrator of <My Organisation>. But then it don’t have andministrative any rights. (no acces to Organisation, can’t create contexts, etc)So what is the usecase of creating suborganisations?

Hi all,i am setting up a workflow, intended to be used for package routing that generates Part BOM xml files, creates a delivery and then attaches the xml files as delivery attachments. I have a hard time figuring out if there is a supported api that will enable attaching the generated xml files in the delivery. So far, i have only managed adding the files as package attachments.Any ideas?

During a Windchill project, is it standard practice to refresh the Test system with Production data before testing major project phases?If so, can the refresh be selective (e.g. Database and Vaults only), or must it include the entire application environment every time (e.g. WC Home Files, Apache, etc.)?What is the standard approach: a full infrastructure-level server clone or an application-level refresh of the software components (e.g. Database and Vaults)?

Hi, we have an installation of Windchill live and test, we want to split the accounts for LDAP, how do we do this, we have changed in adaptors and change via the console to update the administration account, but when we disable the old AD account the services fail on both Live and Test, we have 2 new AD Accounts that split and the old one.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.1 and Datecode with CPS 13.1.0.0 Requirement: For custom part type "CBB Part", ONLY its Creator should maintain team members (add/remove). Tried independently (both failed): Approach A - Policy Administration: Granted "Full Control" to dynamic role "Creator" in /Default/PDM and /System domains. Approach B - Lifecycle Template: Granted "Full Control" to the "Owner" role directly in the lifecycle template. Current Issue: Only the Administrator account can see the "Add/Remove Member" options. The Creator cannot see these options on the Team page. Questions: What is the standard configuration to achieve this? Are we missing a preference (e.g., Access Permission Configuration (PDM)) or facing domain priority issues? What is the correct domain and permission setup?

Iteration or revision of the upstream part do not create an equivalent link from the existing Downstream version.For one of the downstream view of the view hierarchy (2 levels, one upstream, multiples downstream):It is possible to reverse the behaviour between Upstream and Downstream ? Sampling pages within the Tech Pack should be unique to each sample type, displaying only the attributes relevant to the selected sample. Pages should be presented in the correct approval sequence, with visual assets displayed alongside each sample stage (including marked up images as well as original images). This provides clear guidance and context for the factory, improving understanding and reducing errors throughout the sampling process.

How to Change the OOTB Attribute Display Name? Tried with Type and Attribute Manager by changing the localize master text but it doesn't reflect. Also put a required constraint it doesn't refelct.

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 12.0 and Datecode with CPS 12.0.2.26 While performing a system health check in Windchill PDMLink 12.0 using WinDU, we came across findings reported by the DetectPLMFormatEnumAndMSRInfoLayout task. The findings are related to the ESI_RESPONSE_FORMAT_PLM local enumeration constraint for the Distributed Process Target and the Model Structure Report Attributes layout for the ESI Target. We ran the recommended ESIPLMFormatEnumAndMSRInfoLayoutRepairTask, but the findings are still appearing when we rerun the detection task. Could you help us understand why these findings are persisting and suggest how we can resolve them?

We allow users to add and remove participants from a workflow task.  I can catch empty roles in the future, but how do you catch the current task if a user removes all participants in the current role they are an approver?  Right now when you remove the last user, it hides the ability to add new users and just processes the task as if you Completed Task.

I have used Windchill PDMLink since version 3 and the “New Folder” (Next Gen UI) is terrible.What is PTC trying to look like?Not only would this require all existing work instruction and users guides to be updated, it’s just not a good layout. 

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.1 and Datecode with CPS 13.1.2.0 Why Workgroup Manager is needed for Solidworks? As observed Creo don't need the WGM any longer. Impact is with WGM it takes a lot of time, without WGM it is significantly faster for big assemblies. If we can have a quick call with PDMLink and CAD integration team to answer the follow up question it will be great. This is not urgent.

Workflow Task Variable does not render the string value as URL.From our java code, we are returning a string which is a url. This is URL is being displayed in the value of the variable Intarsys URL. This was clickable URL and was working in Windchill 12. After upgrading to Windchill 13, the string value in the UI is no more hyperlink(not clickable)I have tried changing the global variable inside workflow to java.net.URL. But in this case, the task itself is not getting generated. How to render the URL so that it is clickable. As in, it should open in a new window. 

I am using Windchill Risk and Reliability Enterprise Edition (Formerly Relex) Release 11.1 We’re planning to migrate our Windchill 11.1 database, currently hosted on a Windows Server 2016 VM with SQL Server 2014 Express, to a clean Windows Server 2025 VM running Windchill 13.1 and SQL Server 2025 Express.The Windchill 13.1 conversion wizard does not recognize the imported database. Could you point us to documentation or recommended steps for completing this migration? Alternatively, rather than migrating a database to a new machine, can we simply export the projects? If so, what would we lose by only exporting our projects/files?
