Vuforia Studio

I followed @AllanThompson great instructions for adding and using custom fonts found here. And it works in Preview and Android but not on iOS. Has anyone had luck with custom fonts on iOS?

Hello, I am trying to change the 'sequence' property of my 3Dmodel using JS for a HoloLens experience. On the preview everything is ok, but on the Hololens itself the sequence is not switching.   The sequence itself is called "sequence" ("l-Creo 3D - sequence.pvi"). I tryed several approaches to reach the sequence: $scope.setWidgetProp('staticModel', 'sequence', "app/resources/Uploaded/l-Creo 3D - sequence.pvi"); $scope.setWidgetProp('staticModel', 'sequence', "Uploaded/l-Creo 3D - sequence.pvi"); $scope.setWidgetProp('staticModel', 'sequence', "l-Creo 3D - sequence.pvi"); The interesting thing is, that all of these above is working in the preview. But not with the HoloLens eventually. I am using Creo Illustrate 4.2 and a single PVZ file is uploaded to the application resources in Studio. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

So, I’m new to vuforia and thingworx and I’m trying to figure out some stuff.  i have a private hosted thingworx, today I installed the ES application to that server, I can see it’s created es-user; es-application key etc.... I'm running vuforia studio on a dev machine which I’m trying to connect to my ES server, I don’t know how to specify the ES server / thingworx url in studio. Do I just <public url>.com:80/?? is this the same url to use in Vuforia View? where do I use the es-user and es-appkey?   Also; I have a partner account but my vuforia portal hasn’t picked that connection up, how do I get them linked?    Thanks for for the help.    Paul.       

Hi,   I had a BlueScreenOfDeath while working on in Vuforia Studio.  Since then, Vuforia Studio would not start.  I have rebooted, repaired and uninstalled/rebooted/reinstalled - and still have the same problem. Can someone review the logs and suggest my next steps ? I am wondering if there is a work around to display the Vuforia Studio Preview inside a Mashup on ThingWorx. Ideally so that you can view the 3D model with some live data side by side with the usual controls one would have in a mashup.   In this article @RolandRaytchev mentioned how its possible to view the preview (look at this case for more detail - https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article?n=CS284529) but that its not possible to display that page with the Web Frame widget in a mashup, is there any other method that could be used?  

Hello All,   I installed ThingWorx-Platform-Postgres-8-3-0  and  Vuforia Studio Experience Service  es-8-1-3-b503-253-linux-x64  on the same  Ubuntu 18.04 machine using VM. Experience Service uses 2019 port (regulare http). Tomcat 8.5.23 starting without any errors. Hello, I just updated to the latest Vuforia Studio, and found that I could select and move multiple 3D Images and/or 3D Labels. The glitch is that these movements are not saved, and do not show up in the preview.   The only way to move multiple things (3D Images or 3D labels) is to move each one individually. It would be great if a new version could be released soon to fix this glitch, because selecting and moving multiple things can save time and accuracy, especially if you are trying to arrange rectangular widgets in a list or grid-layout with the HoloLens.   Has anyone else noticed this? What is the best place in the ptc community to submit new product ideas for Vuforia Studio? Would this be it? // I would like to see the ability to organize uploaded resources by folder, because in some instances a single giant list becomes large and hard to search through. This of course would require a sort of folder browser when selecting a resource for a widget.   Thanks

Is there a way with in Vuforia Studio to access the list of uploaded resources via scripting in Home.js? I'm struggling to find in depth documentation on the scripting capabilities within Vuforia Studio. I know the parameters can be accessed by $scope.app.params so I'd think the resources would also be able to be accessed similarly but the syntax isn't intuitive and without documentation it's difficult to figure out.

How can I stop vuforia view from keeping updating the track on mobile phone? I want the model to fixed once the ThingMark first detection.     Appreciate any help.

Goodmorning everyone, I updated Vuforia View and noticed the addition of the "wizards section". What is it about? I tried to log in with PTC credentials but still can't log in. Do you have any info on this? Matteo.

It seems there is a bug in this latest release, the preview does not seem to register any "Click" actions on 3D object. So I have JS actions for click on 3D images and model items and i can't get any of them to work on the preview, they do work on device. This is a massive problem for developing experiences. Can anyone else confirm this issue?   Looking at the debug window on preview. When i click on a model item all i see is "Tap on twx-dt-view element at pageX = 154, pageY = 123" (with the coords of the click) previously this would display the ID path of the model item you clicked on by default.

I've created animated sequence using Creo illustrate consists of 20 steps. I've managed and controlled the model transparency via Creo, such that I made all the parts transparent except for the animated one. It worked perfect as expected in preview, mobile and HoloLens. Only one issue appear in hololens, it took long time to load sequence, about 30 seconds! (in mobile phone takes a second).   Why it'd take that long time? how to reduce this time? the only option I have now is to download the experience to offline, which will cut the time to the half. but what if I want it online?   Any help or recommendations?   Thanks

Hello, This is a general question about best practices/ troubleshooting.   Is there a way to troubleshoot Vuforia View on the HoloLens? Projects often perform differently from the way they did in the Vuforia preview window. It is nice to use Chrome Developer tools to troubleshoot the preview, is there a similar way to access the error messages and console that might be hidden on the HoloLens itself?   At this point, the only method I have to use is trial & error. I try something different in my code and then re-publish to the HoloLens. I wish there was a way to see what exactly is going on.   Thanks for any tips -- even if they are odd, resourceful or creative! Wes

Hi All,   I encountered a problem with the latest version of the View app on HoloLens after the update to 8.4.1 came late last week.   I had an experience created that used a textured model created from an FBX file.  The experience was working fine on the HoloLens using View 8.4.0, but after the update to 8.4.1, the view app crashes out when loading up the model .  I had to create a new version of the experience that doesn't have any textures and that loads up fine.   This happened on 3 different HoloLens's all running the latest version of Windows and 2 of them have been recently reset with nothing on them apart from the View app.   It's not a memory issue as the performance graph from the device portal shows.  You can see the the loading, and then the plateau when the app crashes and the drop when it exits out of view which is still way below the memory limit:   It's not a global problem, as I have other experiences with textures that loa

Hello,   I have 2 issues.    1. The model has two sequences ( Figure 1 & Figure 2 ). I leave the sequence options under model props empty so that I can set the sequence later through JS. I am using the following JS to set the sequence : $scope.view.wdg['model-1']['sequence'] = 'l-Creo 3D - Figure 1.pvi'; , Now, While it works for only one sequence, the same does not work when I call Figure 2.    2. Second issue is that, Figure 2 is a Dis-Assembly snapshot, for some reason, the minute the experience is launched, the model locks into the Figure2 View and hence starting in the Dis-Assembly view which is not intended.   Somebody pl help!!!!   Avinash

Is it possible to add "clickable" links to websites in a Vuforia View HoloLens Experience? They could be opened with Microsoft Edge.

Hi,   I've created an experience with a dropdown menu at bottom grid & some buttons and header. When the dropdown menu is selected in 'iphone' all the other widgets mentioned above got moved up from its original position because the dropdown menu follows its default iphone UI for dropdown (roller), not like the one that's showing in the preview in vuforia studio. But once the option is selected from dropdown, the widgets didn't come back to its original position. Please guide me how to fix this. Hello Community,   as you can see in the Video, I added some external data (axis angles) from a robot to the Hololens experience. However, I have 2 questions regarding the numbers: 1) Is there a way to modify the numbers in Studio, so that no numbers after the point are shown?   2) Is there a way to add a Unit to the numbers? When trying to add a second 3D Label only for the unit, it does not look good, because it is not connected to the number.   Thank you!

Hello,   I want to have a varying numer of check boxes that shall be generated automaticly from a list without thingworx. So I dropped a repeater in the 2D Canvas and added a check box to it. I generated an application parameter called APCapitals and dragged it on the data panel of the repeater. Im attempting to scale the model by 0.1 with voice commands. If I run "Decrease Engine Size" Voice command then "Increase Engine Size"  it works fine.  reload and then If I say command "Increase Engine Size" first it does not work and then "Decrease Engine Size" command doesn't work either.  Any idea what I'm doing wrong?   Is there a better work flow?
