If i can have a family table with a code number registered for each instance in my ERP system, what is the best option for PDM: have a family table with every single instance and its code numbers, and use it with repeat region in the drawing; or just put a handmade table on the drawing?

This is a share not a question. As you can tell, I am revaulting my system to enable automatic folder creation and move data to a new volume. I've opted to feed the beast on off hours by altering vaulting rules and then revaulting so as not to impact users during the day. I have created a one custom mvc tablebuilder which invokes through jsp page. this table builder displays on single wizard page. this table builder is not fitting into a popup window after displays table there is a lot of empty space.

When you check the changes on a model into windchill, a version with the corresponding changes is later accessible in windchill. But if you find out a few versions later, that you e. g. want a specific revolve back in a certain place, how can you pick that up from the old version? Because as far as I know, it is not possible, to check out the old and the new version at the same time. And if you use several workspaces, then you can check out both but not work on them at the same time. I can not just go back to the old version, because I want to keep the majority of the part version that is up to date.

I just added a couple of dozen files (~100k bytes each) to Windchill using the "drag and drop to Windows File Explorer" method.I can see these newly-added files in the File Explorer window that is enhanced by the Windchill add-in. However, I cannot see the newly-added files in the Windchill's "Navigator" HTML browser window.  Is there a significant sync delay (hours?) between these?Refreshing the Navigator browser window doesn't make any difference. The files are still not visible after 2 hours.  My internet connection is solid.

I will post some code below that works for me. However I would like to replace the 'testing' strings with a variable passed to the for each loop from the epmdocument group. I cannot figure out the syntax for doing this. If I place <ie:getValue name="CADName"/> where the variable is then I get an error when I execute. When I drag and drop a file to my Windchill Documents folder using Windows File Explorer, the following Windchill Desktop Integration pop-up window prompts me to associate attributes with this newly introduced file.One of the attributes on which the pop-up seeks guidance is file name.  My first reaction is "the file name is obvious: the name of the file I just dragged in".But then I realized that Windchill is probably giving me an opportunity to rename the dragged-in file to something else, so I renamed the file to something else. But afterwards if I hover the cursor on the newly-added file using Windows File Explorer (which should give me the file's complete path including the file extent) I see my old file name, not the modified name.So my question is: why does the File Attributes pop-up give me an opportunity to rename a file if Windchill plans to retain the old file name?  Why would Windchill try to manage dual file names for the same file?

I have been researching the ability to populate a WTpart with all sorts of attributes and then link documents to that WT using a described by link.  The end goal is to have these attributes show in many WTdocs without having to retype enteries (example: serial number, description, sales order, etc)  I can get the Help example: "describedBy@wt.part.WTPartDescribeLink~describes^wt.part.WTPart~name" to work perfectly....but when I try other attributes, like ones I have created, it will not fetch the information and display in the wtdoc.  What an I doing wrong?  I reached out to Tech Support on Monday, still waiting to hear anything from them. 

I've updated some files that are currently in my Resulting Objects list in Windchill. Is there a way to get these files to update to the latest version? It seems the files under the Resulting Objects list doesn't auto-update.  The only work around is to delete them and re-upload the latest version of the files. Please see attached screenshot for more clarity

Hi,I've got a system which went through a couple of upgrades over the years (and new one comming soon) and I think we're experiencing issues during upgrades (or it happened in the past, idk, troubleshooting).Windchill 11.1 M020, Creo 7 Context: I need a decent visual representation of structures in order to be able to implement and use MPMLink. Some items have either no geometry at all or wrong/additional geometry which is not interactive (by interactive I mean items should be selectable via automatic selection tool in visualization tab or being able to choose a Part in structure and "zoom selected"). Issue 1:In "compare to CAD structure" tool the middle column shows a clock icon with a tooltip "Not Built. We recently changed our default thumbnail size - so I needed to regenerate thumbnails.For this I did RegenerateLatestRepresentationThumbnails in WVS  Job Scheduler Adminstrator (at Site level). That seemed to be working until I realized it was starting at the same place every day.  We have a scheduled backup that stops everything while it's backing up - that must be what is causing this? Any suggestions?  Why is it regenerating the same thumbnails if it's only supposed to be doing latest?It gets through about 8000, and I've got a LOT more than that.
