Version: Windchill 13.0 Use Case: When trying to create a new representation in Windchill SIM using Arbortext Publishing Engine, I continuously receive the "Can't find reference post processor" error in the BGMS logs, and the book output cannot be generated.Description: I reviewed the PE logs and observed some Java-related errors. Subsequently, I removed the APTJAVAVMPATH environment variable and used javaselect.exe to define the correct path.For the "Can't find reference processor" error, I updated the stylesheets.I did not encounter any errors in PE Interactive.I also tried publishing a few different books with different stylesheet files, and I didn’t encounter any issues.

Version: Windchill 12.1   Use Case: Upgrading to 13.0.2 requires change object links be converted to flexible links before UpgradeManager can be run. Description: When I run the Flexible Change Converter in report mode, it says I have 164 links to be converted. When I run the convertlinks action, it fails and says that I have an enumerated type of URGENT that is not defined. I have added URGENT to RequestPrioirtyRB, ComplexityRB and IssuePriorityRB and it still fails. I have deleted ALL Change Notices in the system and the report still shows 164 and fails with the error of unable to resolve the URGENT enumerated type. The change notices were created back in WIndchill 11 or 11.1 days (2017-2018) and have been upgraded since then to 12.0 and now in 12.1. The 12.1 is a test system using the 12.0 production data. I have had a call open with PTC since early December on this and no resolution from them. I would think that deleting all of the Change Notices would allow the convert links

Hi. Was wondering if anybody can help. I am an admin of a new Windchill instance. I am a site admin and also an admin at two organization levels. My account is a "Product Creator" in one of these organizations. I am also a user listed in the table under "Participant Administration" at the organization level. My account is a member to the "PTC Windchill Base License" group and is also assigned to the "PTC Windchill Administrator" profile. The license profile called  "PTC Windchill Base License" is enabled and the system is recognizing that I'm consuming a license. I have Windchill PDMLink installed. Yet, I am still unable to create a new library or product. The button simply isn't displaying when I go to "Recent Products" > "View All". Can anybody explain what I am missing please?

I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.0 and Datecode with CPS 13.0.2.4Following Situation: a customer intents to utilize structuring BOM Text elements (Type: EPM Document->Dynamic Document->Note->BOM Text) to add text positions into the product structure. BOM Texts shall be added to the product structure utilizing standard WTParts with the "Gathering Part"-Attribute enabled and a dedicated Part Number “00000000” to clearly identify the text objects in the product structure.Question: are there means in Windchill 13.0.2.4 to automatically bulk-manipulate a product structure and replace a certain range of WTPart numbers with the above described Structuring BOM Text element WTPart 00000000? Version: Windchill 12.0   Use Case: Automating BOM imports from an external process Description: I have a tool that exports out an Excel BOM to be imported into Windchill. Has anyone worked on a method for "import from spreadsheet" that is started from an outside process? For instance my tool could run some script that would automate the import from spreadsheet workflow in Windchill for a given Excel file path.   Has anyone worked on a script that does the import automation?   If it helps, we use single sign on so the user would not have to authenticate with Windchill.

Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: Hi, We are using SolidEdge since 2018, going through different Windchill-SolidEdge-CADi versions and we are constantly facing problems: - CAD data marked as our of date. - CAD data saved but not marked as modified. - Drawings published with the wrong attributes displayed. These problems are occurring randomly, but they have a huge impact in our activities. I have created several tickets with PTC and Birlasoft, but they have not solved the problem. I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 11.1 and Datecode with CPS M020-CPS15There are approx. of 17K+ publishing jobs are running.Is there anyway to make the publishing faster

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: When checking in new objects into windchillDescription: I am trying to check in a large number (>1000) objects into windchill from Creo.  When I upload and associate the parts it defaults to "Part". I cannot see a way to change this in any settings or preferences and it looks like the table requires each object to be editing manually. These parts are being used with WNC bridge so they MUST be an "Electrical Part". Any ideas how to do this?

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: Taking hours of time to get ESI response file GenerationDescription: After we upgraded Windchill 11.1 to 12.1 and also to database update to 19c,we are seeing significant increase in ESI response file generation. In Windchill 11.1,BOM with 500 parts with Options and assigned expressions used to take less than one minute and now it is taking more than 8 minutes. In most of business cases, we release more than 5 BOMs in sign ECN and that is taking 40 minutes to generate ESI Response file. Checked with PTC,they are saying that is expected behavior but it is not the case in Windchill 11.1. Posting the message here to check If anyone experienced similar issue. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to install Oracle 19c for Windchill 12.0.2. I had it installed once on this server, but wiped it out to fix an error with the upgrade process. Now Oracle will not install properly. When I do the install, the setup program makes changes to the files in the folder that I am installing from even though I tell the program to install Oracle to e:\Oracle19c. The install files are in my c:\users home folder. I do not get a DB_Home created, so the PTC configuration for Oracle will not run. I have deleted all references to Oracle in the registry before each install try.

Hello PTC-Community,While writing JUnit Tests for my Project I found an error while trying to mock the wt.maturity.MaturityHelper class.org.mockito.exceptions.base.MockitoException: Cannot instrument class wt.maturity.MaturityHelper because it or one of its supertypes could not be initializedI am using mockito 5.2.0 and JUnit 5.10.0, I also activated mockito-inline as well which should enable supertypes to be mocked, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.Any Ideas would help, thanks in advance.

This is a share post. I was looking for a report that would list any Latest Released CAD Docs that do not have  a WVS Representation linked to them. The report looks for null values for the Derived Image. We all rely upon PDF and STEP generated files from the WVS service. When they do not exist, users can question the system's accuracy. Since the WVS publishing services are not 100% reliable, make sense to monitor for completeness. I know you can use the WVS Scheduler to just publish any by Context that are missing a representation. I also have WVS actions on search results toolbar. This way you can control what you republish. From this report, you can export to excel and target a search query and be specific on what you send to the publisher. My only issue with the schedule tasks is that you have no idea how many will be generated. This report gives you a quick check.

Hi, One of my clients wants to shut down the old Windchill server. They probably won't use old files from the server but they want to export them and maybe use some of them in the future.  Is it possible to export all data from Oracle Database using for example data pump and extract it? it will be possible then to open these exported files in Creo?  Thanks in advance.

Version: Windchill 12.1 Use Case: On my Windchill server there are multiple product contexts, but in one of them people are working with solidworks. Is there a way to prohibit publishing only in that specific context?Description: The goal is to prevent multiple failed jobs on the WVS job monitor and keep the queue free of unnecessary files.Also I don't have a solidworks license available to make a worker for these files.The only way I could find was to prohibit single files, so once a day I take a look at the WVS job monitor, filter for that solidworks context, make a prohibit rule, and delete it all.To configure a SolidWorks worker later on, I'm going to need to delete prohibition rules one by one or clean the table on DB.There's no clear identification on the DB table, and there are some rules that I don't want to remove.

I want to understand more on this. What common challenges and issues may we encounter during the upload How can we anticipate and mitigate those issues before uploading Best practices, and suggestions we can provide to users to avoid errors For example, Change Management is typically not feasible for EMX assemblies due to multiple interrelated component dependencies. In such cases, a direct revision process is recommended instead of formal change objects.
