Hi all, this is my first experience with the software. I am currently learning the functions and utilities of the Windchill RBD. At the calculation page, I have been enabled Monte Carlo Simulation method. I am unable to achieve the simulated results. The results page display a message. I am able to obtain the failure rate for this example. It just unable to obtain the MTBF and MTTR of the overall system."All availabilities are operational availabilities. *Cannot be operated because the system will enter a failed state where it cannot be repaired"I read some of the guides including Getting Started Guide. I was still unable to comprehend the error that I encountered. Hi I want to add in the FMEA Worksheet the item(s) that I have in my FMEA Tree Items tab.   For instance, once I have created my FMEA Tree Items (Functional or Components), I want to add them in the FMEA Worksheet below. Hello,I'm trying to establish a validation mechanism for the Part Creation process. I have an attribute (Attribute1), that somehow should filter the valid options for the Part Classification tree. Specifically, I need to ensure that the selection made in the "Attribute1" dropdown aligns with the chosen value(s) in the Classification Tree. Although I understand Classifications don't inherently support cascading attributes, I'm looking for a method to achieve this cross-validation.I am aware that Windchill 12 allows you to create a namespace to manage the Classification tree by type/subtype, which already filters some of the Classification nodes, but it does not complete the validation I am looking to achieve. Any thoughts on how to implement this validation given the limitations of cascading attributes in Classifications? Has anyone solved a similar problem before?

Hi, we are having a problem with our Promotion Request workflow. Sometimes we come across a situation where at first only WTParts are added to a Promotion Request as Promotion Objects:  We use "Pending Approval" state to lock objects that are added to Promotion Requests so that they are not edited during the review process (because the promotion process seems to be unable to refresh the latest iteration automatically to the PR). At this point the WTPart is moved to that state. Then when the Promotion Request is later edited and the related CAD documents are added to Promotion Objects, the WTParts drop out of the Promotion Objects because they are in the "Pending Approval" state, which we are not allowing to be promoted:   Now at this point the WTPart gets stuck to "Pending Approval" state even though it is not in the Promotion Request anymore:  And someone with Admin or Product Manager access needs to now go and use Set State to change

Hello, I have the below list of requirements for which I am considering to make use of Part Request object.i)  A workflow process is required where different tasks for the teams are triggered.ii) Different teams edit the Part Request and enrich the part informationiii)Teams should only be able to edit/update fields corresponding to them. Example: Mechanical team when trying to edit the Part Request, should only be able to enter values for attributes corresponding to Mechanical Department.ii)Parts should not be created in the system until the enrichment by different teams are completed But in Part Request I see limitations with layouts as it cannot be customized. Hello,In Windchill on a file page, if the number of general attributes set to show exceeds the General Attributes section the display box resorts to scrolling rather than expanding the box.  Is there an easy settings change or way to make this such that all the attributes are visible and perhaps the box is expanded, the distance between lines is lessened, or the font size is decreased, rather than resorting to scrolling?  A single extra attribute was determined to be important and added to the list of visible attributes in that section but no one bothered to check if it would have any consequences anywhere else.  Now one of the most important attributes and one that I look at 50+ times a day for different objects ) is hidden away.I apologize if this is not the correct section for this or if this is a silly question.  I'm not a Windchill admin or expert and am new to this forum.  I'm just someone annoyed by the behavior of the system (or our system) and hoping t

While exporting the bulk documents list into XLSX or XLS the items in the list should have hyperlink either in Document number or in name.The purpose of the hyper link is, it will be helpful for the users to redirect them directly to the document page in the windchill.For now in our windchill we are having hyperlink on the name after clicking on the name it will redirect us to the information page of the particular document, but if I export the list to the excel(XLSX) then the hyper link is getting missed So we would like to have the hyperlink on the number or name after exporting the documents list into XLSX file.

CREO is our future and wanting to make those links Owner. Inventor is second priority while Solidworks is third. How can we make it so the Build Associated Part/Compare CAD to Part Structure tool works for all three cad package assemblies with a single WTPart? We thought the Image association type was the answer but PTC claims "a single CAD document cannot be associated to multiple WC parts using this type.", and we have a lot of CAD in this scenario. Is it best practice to have a one-to-one CAD package type to WTPart? Or do we need to clean up our ERP system?
