I have created this PowerPoint to help get started with PTC Windchill Connector & PTC Navigate. It has Windchill Connector Installation overview, component required to install Windchill Connector / PTC Navigate. How to use out of the box Windchill Restful webservice in Thingworx / PTC Navigate. How to get started creating your own custom app.   Please share your feedback on this documentation.

Hello, I have installed navigate 1.7 .  Also will importing  GridAdvanced3.0.5.zip in thingworx composer was not accepted so i imported grid-advanced_ExtensionPackage-4.1.1.zip.   1)  will testing ValidateConnection service from ptc-windchill-integration-connector the result is : Error executing service. Message ::Unable To Convert From org.mozilla.javascript.UniqueTag to INFOTABLE - See Script Error Log for more details.   2) As specified in installation document , when i  make changes to  the web.xml file at location  C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 8.5\webapps\Thingworx\WEB-INF     Thingworx Composer and LandingPageAccessAppMashup both does not opens 3) If i ignore the changes to be made in web.xml file then i can able to view both the pages but  can't connect to  Windchill. Also I don't want SSL connection , so is their any way to get connected to windchill? Please help

Hi, I am new to Navigate and I need information on the same. We are moving the Windchill PDMLink to a new server with new host name. In that case, we will be Rehosting Windchill, but, what about Navigate ? Is it possible to rehost Navigate ? If not, then how to move all the created data (users list, custom attributes etc.) from Navigate, to newly installed Navigate on the new server ? Please help me out here.   Regards, Akshay

Hi, I am trying to install Thingworx for Navigate.I have installed PostGre SQL database 9.4.11 and Apache Tomcat 8.5. I have done the configurations as per the Thingworx installation guide.I have created ThingworxPlatform folder and placed the json file in it mentioning the license details.Later I created the ThingworxStorage folder and ThingworxBackupStorage folder. When I try to launch the Thingworx, its not getting launched showing the attached snap. No content is created in ThingworxStorage folder.I re-deployed Thingworx.war file but that hasn't helped.Still the ThingworxStorage folder remains empty.If anyone has faced same kind of issue, please do help me out here. Hi Developers,   I'm working on PTC Navigate 1.5.0 and Thingworx 8.0.1   I'm having issues similar to this article. The rest.properties file also seem to be proper as mentioned in the article. The configurations on the "ptc-windchill-integration-connector"are as shown in the image   I have observed the following in my composer:  "ValidateConnection" service is giving "Success:200-OK" "GetEndpointList" service is giving the below error   Unable to Invoke Service GetEndpointList on ptc-windchill-integration-connector : Your route exchange has failed. HTTP operation failed calling [http://<IP>/Windchill/servlet/rest/swagger.json] with status [404 - 404]       3. When i tried loading the below URL i got HTTP Error 404 page not found. http://<IP>/Windchill/servlet/rest/swagger.json   I have tried reinstalling the patch twice and it was not helping. I can't find any root cause for this issue. Is this related to windchi

When using any app (Example: View Drawing) when launched, the system takes you to the search page. How do I get the cursor to automatically be in the search bar. I want users to be able to start typing right away when they see the search bar, no need to click in it before typing.  Not a coder, but I believe this is something to do with autofocus?

Hi Developers,   I'm working on ThingWorx 8.0.1 with Navigate View 1.5.0. I was able to perform basic RESTOperations such as fetching a NONCE Token from a Service, Creating a part,....   I had to use the URI's that were exposed from windchill for these services. I'm a novice in REST services if there is any document or tutorials which give step by step procedure to create RESTful web services in Windchill side and use the same in Thingworx it would be helpful.   Thanks and Regards, Saran

Hi   Trying to install Navigate 1.6. When accessing ThingWorx with the configuration so far, request the user certificate to Windchill and proceed to LandingPageAccessAppMashup. However, the design data can not be loaded. I installed Windchill in a state where HTTPS configuration was not completed. The guide says that Windchill's SSL (understood as HTTPS configuration) configuration is essential for Navigate installation. Therefore, we configured Windchill as HTTPS with a self-signed certificate for resolution. I then reset the ptc-windchill-intergraion-connector. Previously, we set the base URL to http: // <hostID> / Windchill. At that time, ValidateConnection returned success. I changed it to https: // <hostID> / Windchill / sslClientAuth when I set it up newly. We also added the ssl keystore path and password to ptc-winndchill-intergration-connector-proxy. The path is <PTC_Windchill> / java / lib / security / cacerts. However, ValidateConnetion returns a failu

Hi Developers,   We are working on custom apps with the Navigate Extension. We're successful in creating the apps and adding them to the landing page of the Administrator. We've added seven apps to the landing page and they are visible for the Administrator. But when we're trying to give the visibility for non-admin user groups, there are only five apps available in the permission screen of the administrator. When we removed one custom app, then a new app is available in the permission screen. Is there anyway to show all the custom apps in the permission screen?   Thanks and Regards, SaranKarthick K R 

Hello everyone. I have experience installing and customizing Windchill, but I am new to Navigate and thingworx installation. After refering software matrices, I came to conclusion that Postgre and H2 are the only databases supported for navigate installation. But in my client location they are having below mention servers, so how should I tackle below mentioned problems/ address questions? Any reply regarding the subject would be of great importance.    Question 1: Is it possible to install PTC navigate 1.5 and Thingworx 8.0.1 when there is a windows server 2012 and MSSQL 2016 standard database in production environment? If it is possible how should it be done?  (Requesting for documents and useful links)   Question 2: Is it possible to install PTC navigate 1.5 and Thingworx 8.0.1 when there is a windows server 2008 and Oracle 11g database in test environment? Hello, I am new to thingworx navigate.  I have written a service where it pulls data based on part number. While executing the service. Hello community,   So I have two questions regarding the Navigate / Windchill Extension matter. PTC Navigate 1.3, Thingworx 7.1. When I'm gathering all objects of specific type, e.g. all libraries using Windchill REST API, it returns me a set with libraries that are invisible for my user in Windchill - can it be a bug? What is the set of attributes available to be used in the OData $filter parameter? Because it work e.g. for containerReference, but it does not work for versionInfo.identifier.versionId. I'd like to filter WTDocuments by custom attribute and it seems to be not possible?   Any help appreciated. Regards, J.

Hi All,   I am trying to configure Navigate with Windchill but it is failing with the error in the screeshot attached. Windchill is configured with SSL (tried with both trusted certiicates and self signed certificates) and Navigate is not SSL enabled (http). When validating the connection from Thingworx (ptc-windchill-integration-connector--> services--> ValidateConnection) it is failing. Thanks, Irfan

Hello,   I'm struggling to configure Navigate to only return latest released objects, and hoping someone here knows a solution. I'm using a Saved Search in Windchill with the following criteria:   Iteration = Latest Revision = Latest State = Released   Running this search in Windchill with input of "*TEST*" returns 4 files all latest released which is correct. The same search in Navigate however, results in 7 files including some (not all) older versions of the 4 files. Expectations are that I get the same search results when using the exact same input and Saved Search between Windchill and Navigate.   What's odd is that, if I run a search in Navigate without any wildcards, using the exact Number or Name, then I get the correct result, the latest released file. Seems like older versions are included in the search result when using a wildcard character and/or when there's more than one file that matches criteria. In Thingworx Navigate (logged in as admin), I have gone into 'View Part Structure Tailoring' and added 'Quantity' in to the selected attributes.   On viewing the Part Structure Tile and searching for a part number, I can see the Quantity attribute header in the table but no value appears under it. How do I get the values to show?   Thanks in Advance

I'm creating a Thingworx Navigate custom app and need to pass Mashup Parameters to a custom Search mashup using a url. The approach I'm trying to take is similar to what's done by PTC's OOTB Thingworx Navigate Apps... so, once my custom app is selected in the Thingworx Navigate "home page", it would pass some parameters to a Search Mashup.   The issue is that (I think) I can not use the "Navigation" widget for that because the Search Mashup is not called from another "mashup" that I own... it's called from the LandingPageAccessAppMashup (the "home page" of the Thingworx Navigate Apps).

Hello,   To start with, I am beginner in Thingworx. I just had my thingworx 7.1.19 installed with postgres as database. I brought up the UI and can able to navigate around and do basic entity creation like thing, thingtemplate etc...   Now trying to import the PTC Windchill extension (ptc-windchill-extension-1.6) into thingworx, but it fails and all I can see in log is below error message, not sufficient to troubleshoot, not sure what I am missing.   1. Is there any compatibility issue. 2. Hi , I am using below components after referring Navigate Support Matrix document: Thingworx 8.0.1 H2, Thingworx Utilities 8.0.1, Windchill Extension 1.7, Navigate Framework 1.4.1 Windchill 11.0 M030 Note: I have successfully installed patch WCTWXExtension in windchill, I have imported every component and extension without any error as mentioned in guide "Thinworx Navigate Installation and Configuration guide".   I am getting error when I am trying to test the connection by running Validate Connection service in ptc-windchill-integration-connector. ​I am getting status as Failed ​and I am getting some error in application log. I have attached log file. Can anyone guide/help me with this?

Hello All,   I am trying to set up Thingworx Navigate with a Composite Resource Provider. I want to show additional non-windchill attributes in the 'View Part Structure App' along with windchill attributes.   I followed the steps mentioned in 'Navigate Install and Config Guide'. However I am stuck at the last step.   The guide mentions that we have to make the 'Use Composite Provider' radio button visible on the 'PartStructureTailoringContainedMashup' in order to view additional data.   But I am not able to edit the mashup. Have I missed some step? or is there any other way to achieve this?   I would really appreciate any help and guidance. Thanks.   Regards, Madhumita

Hello ,   I have a setup installed with navigate 1.1 and windchill 10.1 Some IBA Values like version is not displaying completely like iteration are not displaying in it . Also in PartListApp the table is not population sharing some of the logs of thingworx . It would be great if anybody could help on the same .   Kind Regards , Amar
