In Creo sheet metal, K factor / Y factor are fixed during the material selection. During modeling, when I change the sheet metal thickness, this K factor / Y factor are not changed automatically. This leads to wrong development length calculation. As per the below mentioned PTC article itself it is mentioned as K factor should change according to the thickness. (K factor = δ/T). I would like to measure the distance between the centre of 2 holes, usually I would select the measure tool and select the surfaces within both holes to get a distance between the centres. I have tried to do this but the measure tool seems to only want to select certain surfaces and selecting the point rather than face. Can anyone help with this please?

Creo Parametric version 8.0.7.0 I'm trying to create a mold for my subject and want to split the body using a plane. Which fails. Then I tried to extrude a body out of the plane I want to split, and the use boolean operation feature to either intersect or subtract the bodies. I was successful on one side, but the other side fails, which I believe the same problem it may have faced when splitting using the plane. Any advise, help is greatly appreciated. We have an existing part made from sheet metal.  I'm stumped whether or not it's a Creo "sheet metal" part.  I've watched some tutorials and none of them seem to be close to this use case.  I'd rather not have to make punches and dies. Also, as a sheet metal part, I can't figure out how to model to the finished dimensions without creating dummy waste material with dummy dimensions that you have to get rid of at the end of the model.  Seems like poor Creo practice. As a solid part, you could brute-force this as a single revolve feature.  It's bordering on poor practice having that many segments in the sketch.  Ideally there's a "better" way? If you try to use a thin feature instead of a solid feature, the dimensioning scheme doesn't work.  Some dimensions are to the inside surface while others are to the outside surface.  Also, I hate flexible modeling.  You should be able to do this in either as a solid part or sheet meta

 At our company, we're working to enhance our Creo Sheetmetal modeling practices to better support manufacturing. One idea we're exploring is adding small notches or cutouts at the ends of bend lines to help suppliers align bends more easily, without manual measurement.I've attempted to create a UDF for this purpose, but it's not as user-friendly or automated as we'd like. Ideally, we'd want Creo to automatically place these notches at the ends of each bend line during the modeling process. My questions are:Is there a built-in or recommended method in Creo Sheetmetal to automate the placement of such notches?Can bend line geometry be accessed or referenced to allow for automatic notch placement?

I need new drawings to automatically show our standard tolerance block (by decimal places) in the title block. We work in millimeters most of the time. I’ve set the drawing_setup_file in config.pro to point to our DTL, added tol_display yes and the linear_tol values there, and confirmed the drawing format note uses the correct system parameters (e.g., linear_tol_0.0 (text config files) →&linear_tol_0_0 (drawing), etc.). I've restarted Creo and the machine. Still, when creating new parts and drawings, the tolerances in the block don’t match what’s in the DTL/config. Hi, I am currently trying to model a surfboard fin using a fin outline I found online and with an MH32 airfoil profile. I used points to make a datum curve for references to the boundary blend I made.I want to check that this geometry is okay or not as visually I can see at the top of the fin there looks like a misconnection between either blend surfaces, but I can't tell if it is just visual. I used mesh surface to see it looked weirdly shaped at the top and using the reflection you can see it reflect on the top too. Is there any way to fix this if this is the case, or is there a different way to do it with an asymmetric foil shape?Thank you,Joel

I have a huge library of existing parts and assemblies that were all created with the same start part and start assembly files. If I make a change to the start part or start assembly templates, will that have any effect on existing parts and assemblies, or will it only be applied to new parts or assemblies created after the template change?

In a Design Exploration session, I want to be able to save a STL or STEP file of each solution ; Currently, the save as option is not available

I am developing a UDF for screw threads and ports and need some support understanding whether a certain implementation is possible and how to manage references to make it happen.  Insofar, I have defined UDFs with a coordinate system that every other feature ultimately points to and placed these UDFs using that coordinate system and one placed in the model, or the on-surface coordinate system option. My understanding is that the basest feature(s) appearing in any UDF will be what all the other features ultimately reference.  Ultimately, we would like these UDFs to be placed with reference to an axis the screw goes along and the face the screw extends from. However, I'm struggling to figure out if it's possible to manage references in such a way that those are the reference prompts. I have been experimenting for a while and can't arrange datums in a way that accomplishes this.  More broadly, I've been having some trouble defining UDFs to point to anything B

I can't seem to delete a cable break after placing it. I don't see the "X" that is supposed to represent the cable break in the flat model. Anyone experienced this issue?The only way I have been able to successfully delete it is to delete the entire cable segment.

Good afternoon,  I am new to using GD&T advisor, so far as a tool i think it potentially has a lot of benefits. However i am at a stage where i have completed all the GD&T definitions, and now want to add some traditional dimensions, eg. linear dimensions from datums to plane surfaces. When i try it says 'no applicable reference'. I am unsure how i can have traditional dimensions along side GD&T

I am using Creo Parametric 10. I am encountering a similar issue to what is described here: (1) Replace by unrelated component and asm0001 already... - PTC Community. From that, I am able to delete the "asm0001.asm" from my workspace and that allows me to use replace by unrelated component. However, when I try to upload the "replacement" part to Windchill, I get the error "Assembly - asm0001.asm is not unique".  I checked the Reference Viewer in the part, and asm0001.asm is not listed. Where else can I check to break the reference? The part file is a family table, if that matters.

I am looking for a feature in Creo that allows you to select faces of two features and determine the relationship between them. For example, in SolidWorks, if you select two flat surfaces, it will show whether they are parallel or perpendicular in the bottom right corner or the analysis window. Similarly, if you select two circles, it will indicate if they are concentric or offset. Is there a feature in Creo that provides similar functionality or something close to it? Thank you.

Hi, when I put the subassembly, wich parts are constrained to the straight lines in the picture below, in an assembly, I would like to modify the green circled sketch dimension from a value of 1160 mm to 1400 mm with 20 mm pitch dimensions: how can I do it without relations?Is there a method that allow this procedure with flexible dimension?  Thank you, Michele Baril

I am pretty new to Creo Parametric and running into an issue where updating a part requires large amount of re-definition in assembly. I'm designing an adaptor between a t-slot beam and a table, the adaptor is applied 20 times over. Every time I make a change to the adaptor's sketch or thickness the assembly requires me to redo all the definitions of parts around all the adaptors. How should I avoid this?

I have an assembly that needs multiple configurations. In one configuration component A is assembled to component B. In another configuration, A is assembled to component C and B doesn't exist or is suppressed.I think using a Family Table and Constraint sets would be a great solution. In the first FT instance I have a Constraint Set that constrains A to B and in a second instance, I have another Constraint Set that assembles A to C. However, the problem is that when I suppress B in the second instance, A becomes suppressed as well. I'm assuming this is because the Constraint Set that is used in the first instance makes A a child of B. Is there any workaround for this? Is there any discussion about having disabled Constraint Sets severing or negating parent/child relationships? It seems to me that would make sense and open more flexibility when using Creo assemblies. Currently using Creo 11
