hi, We're using Creo 10.0.6.0. We have many models that while regenerating flag multiple warnings, "Design Intent is Unclear." We always ignore these. I'm wondering though if that's what we should be doing?   Many of the warnings seem dumb. Example: "The boundary of the highlighted surfaces was extended. Unexpected results are possible." If the extend feature should not be used, why does that feature exist? I'm wondering if we should mark the "ignore" checkbox in the Geometry Checks window. Is Creo taking longer to regen the models due to these checks? Is it possible to turn these checks off completely? (And would that be advisable?) Are there cases where the warnings are actually valid and the part really should be remodeled? All feedback is welcome!

How to do pipe end treatment in creo piping?Copper pipe end requires Converging/diverging profile at the end depending on the fitting size. Also the pipe end made it round using pipe end forming techniques. is it possible to do pipe end forming methods in creo piping?Below images are the anticipated shapes (Created in different CAD system, not in creo)

Hello everyone,I would like to control the overall dimensions of my assemblies in Creo using ModelCHECK. The thing is, I design welded assemblies in Creo, and I need ModelCHECK to send me an alert message whenever I exceed a certain overall size.I’ve already managed to create an overall size parameter and display it in the ModelCHECK interface, but I haven’t yet succeeded in comparing it to my threshold values and triggering an alert when the overall size exceeds those limits.thank you for your help 😉 

Hey folks,I’m running into an issue with Flexible Modeling in Creo, and could really use your help. Here’s the situation:I have a plunger part model originally created in SolidWorks. When I import it into Creo, as expected, the feature tree from SolidWorks doesn’t come through — it simply shows up as an “imported geometry id.” That means I can’t directly edit the original features. So, my only practical option here is to use Flexible Modeling to make the necessary adjustments. Now, here’s the problem:When I try to drag or offset the highlighted cylindrical feature (the main body of the plunger), it’s only extending along the conical surface. What I actually need is for the entire front body of the model to extend together with the cylindrical feature — essentially, I want the whole front section to shift forward as the cylinder grows. I’ve attached screenshots and the Creo part file (.prt) for reference. Hi,I have a part that has a groove in the shape of an arc (see screenshot below).In the drawing of this part, I would like to draw an arc to show the 'middle line' of the groove. This arc should be in the 'centerline' linetype so --- . --- . --- .Similar to the centerline drawn in the 2nd straight groove.In the drawing screenshot below, the red arc is what I want, drawn in centerline.How can I best do this?PS. Tring to generate a Kelvin lattice structure. One that once generated cab be inserted into the lattice feature to generate various lattice's. (view in My Videos)Creo 7 (yes, I know it is unsupported).  This issue has had me waste a couple of hours already and I am stumped. Model enclosed for review.   I have a trivial sketch that is not correctly constrained when using a relation to control a sketch which is a parent of said constrained sketch.   First sketch serves as parent of sketch 2   Sketch 2    Video showing that when driving sketch 1 using a relation to drive dimension d10 in sketch 1 the constraints in sketch 2 are not maintained correctly.   Anyone have any insight into why?      

Creo Shrinkwrap fail with error "Feature aborted. Geometry was overlapping." I have set the absolute accuracy to 0.0001, still i face the issue.

Is it possible to create or redefine a simplified representation in Creo Parametric WITHOUT causing it to activate? I often will make adjustments to an arbitrary simp rep while the model is open in an empty rep. However, the only options I see are "Open", "Cancel", and "Apply". Pressing Open is the only way I know to actually save the changes made, which forces the simp rep to become the active rep in the model. This can be extremely frustrating when working with a massive assembly.I would love to see this screen have options like "Save", "Apply", and "Cancel" instead of the current set.

Hello! Is there a way to alphabetically sort the list of layers when importing an XML into creo cabling?  See the picture below for an example.  We use a lot of layers, so it's difficult to sort through a long list like this to find the proper one.Thanks!

Is it possible to pattern a hole on a surface that is cone shaped, the direction of the holes must be normal to the surface. In solidworks this was very easy using a 3D sketch

The thread representation disappears when I turn off the display of hidden lines in the drawing. Are there any other options? Creo 11

The Measurement Tool... (Analysis->Measure)... was changed was back around Creo 2.0 or 3.0 to a "new, improved" GUI. Back then I complained loudly to the PLM for modeling tools and he was annoyed that I thought the new tool was inferior to the old one.    In any decently sized assembly, I find the tool to be nearly useless. Tips like "pre-selecting the first reference" help but the should software function in a reasonable time span nonetheless. PTC says it "works to specifications" but taking 4 minutes to measure between two holes cannot possibly be "intended functionality".   What are your thoughts? Any tips for improvement? Or do we all just avoid measurements now?  

I've got a part with two dims that I've renamed from their original symbolic names (example: d123) to C and D.  How do I find their original dimension names if I've forgotten what they were?

When rendering images with the Render Studio package that comes with Creo 10. Bump maps, which I use all of the time to represent things like fiber wrapping on tanks, iso grid structure, weld beads, etc., are not being scaled per my inputs.  This is especially useful for representing threads. I have a basic raster image for threads that I apply to a threaded surface, and just scale it along the revolve axis as needed to represent the number of threads that should be there as a function of the cylinder length, and the thread pitch.  Thread bump maps are being rendered, but with a default scale of 1 along the rotational axis. These results are whether I use a parametric or cylindrical mapping for those textures. I don’t know if there is a setting I missed, a configuration value I overlooked, or what.

Hello, is there a method to know the file size in Mb of an assembly or part in creo or in windchill? Tank you, Michele Barile

I am trying to add onto a part which opened up from an assembly. I make the thing I was trying to make but the save buttons are all greyed out. Not sure how to fix this any help would be appreciated. The model also had a validation import failure, but I just clicked ignore. Idk if that's the cause but it still won't let me save. Thanks! 

I am working on generating a imperial drawing for a part that was designed using metric standards and the Model properties use mm as the base unit. The drawing is using dual dimensioning SECONDARY to allow me to dimension in inches. However the part also has several threaded holes that have hole notes generated. This means that the hole and thread depth are using the mm from the model when bringing it into the drawing (so instead of 1in depth the note looks to appear as if it had 25.4in depth). Is there a way to make the hole note that gets pulled in to use the secondary dimensions of inches that the drawing is using so that it matches the units of the drawing without setting the model properties to inches and updating the note in the model.

Dear Creo users,While doing some complicated sketch don't you think there is a need of linear and circular pattern options in creo sketch? Its true pattern option is given in solid modelling and we can pattern a feature or group of features. In solid works users can pattern inside sketch mode. in creo 3.0 and 4.0 is there any updates on sketch pattern? I am using creo 2.0.With regards,Soumya

Hey folks!Need a bit of help...So I’ve got this huge assembly in Creo that takes forever to open — like 30-40 mins easily. When I peeked into the task manager, I noticed it’s only using a single CPU core, even though the machines/workstations have quad-core and some even octa-core processors. Is this normal for Creo? Or is there some any setting or config tweak I may be missing that can make it use all cores and speed things up?Many thanks in advance.Ciao,Srikar

Hi,I am adding a decal to my part, and as suggested in this ticket, I used the flip decal buttons to correctly align my image. Solved: Invert/Mirror Decal Appearence - PTC Community However, when I go to render my part, the image is "unflipped". When I get out of the render application and back to the modeler, the decal is in the correct orientation.  Any thoughts on what can be happening here?  Example decal on the part, as seen in the model view Same decal in the render view  Thanks!
