3D Part & Assembly Design

Hello everyone,I am trying to create a DATE parameter for my startparts, which at the creation of a new part is linked to the parameter PTC_WM_WM_CREATED_ON by a relation, but which can be modified later, if necessary. This, avoiding that users have to modify or remove relations. With these relations the DATA parameter is editable from the day after creation, but I would like to use something better: IF PTC_WM_CREATED_ON == PTC_WM_MODIFIED_ONDATE=PTC_WM_CREATED_ONENDIF I don’t want to be forced to wait a day, but I don’t know if there is another way to do that, using only relations and existing parameters.Any ideas? Thank youMarco p.s.I'm using CREO 8.0.9.0 and Windchill 12.0.2.10 and the date format in Windchill is set on dd-mm-yyyy (08-10-2024)  

I am trying to create a 3D dxf file of an assembly in Creo 10. I also have an assembly level drawing of the entire model. Is it possible to create a 3D .dxf file or .dwg file?

Does anyone have a surface roughness symbol for ISO 1302 to share? It was updated in 2002, but PTC haven't gotten around to updating their symbol yet ...

Regarding Schematics 10 print to pdf on check-in to windchill. every version of schematics messes with our title block company logo such that we have to go in and change the resolution of the logo to get it to be compatible.here is what it looks like in the schematic:   here is how pdf conversion on checkin to windchill modifies it: when will this be made to not be an issue?

Hello, I need some help with changing the clour of the dimension. During creating the part I would like to know which dimensions are - Driven by some formulas/relations. I couldn't find the right way to change the colour of the Relation Driven dimensions.   Is there a way to change the colour? Or maybe a different way to highlight it? thank you, Regards, Arek 

I'm using CREO Parametric 7.0.3.0 When making a sketch, all these dimensions are placed and I can edit the values of each dimension.Am I able to freely ad dimensions between points even though it may be over constrained? If so, how? If not, it seems like this frequently causes the need to add and subtract the dimensions that are present in order to ensure the distance between two directly-undefined points. I should at least be able to place a dimension for reference, at least that would avoid over constraining. Please help.

Is it possible to type the dimension f.e. on a circle while im drawing it? Because in Creo 1.0 it was possible when i clicked on the symbol and set the dimension to e.g. "60" it changed it and i could place it on the center for example.

One of the greatest frustrations I've come across when transitioning to CREO (Parametric 7.0.3.0) is that scrolling to zoom in and out causes your view to be zoomed in/out relative to the center point of the model. How can I change it so that, like most modeling software's, it zooms in/out on where my mouse/cursor is located??? Say I have a long model, and I wish to zoom in on some details at one end. scrolling only zooms in to the center of the entire rod and I can't look at any details close up on that one end of the rod. Someone PLEASE tell me there is a way to zoom in/out of where your mouse cursor is located! This is unbearable.

I have a standard sheet metal part which I have formed, which I need to create matching wall 10mm offset from it to maintain a continuous section, (think of HVAC square ducting etc) I've managed to do this with a quilt and offset wall, the geometry I want is there, but I need this formed as a separate part. In the image the lower side is the original sheet metal part.   Thanks in advance!  

Hi,Is there a method of accessing the drawing number within the relations area of the table(repeat region).  I would like to use the drawing number for conditional test to format the repeat region output a certain way if conditions are met.Regards,Marlon

I run Creo 11.0.0.0 on two computer, my laptop running Win10 and on my PC running win11.  But they both have developed the same issue: which is the middle button does not cancel the break command.  When detailing I wish to break a dimension leader line, so I pick the leader line, RMB and pick the break option. I LMB two places on the leader line where I want the break. The leader line breaks. Now I MMB to cancel the break command to move onto more tasks. But this does not cancel the command and leaves the break command dialogue box sitting there open.This issue started a few moths ago (July 2024) when I was running 9.0.3.0 so I upgraded to 11.0.0.0 and the issue was still there, So may be a window/Java/driver update, but, I have reinstalled both of these and still have the issue. Anyone else have this problem? 

I am using Creo Parametric 9.0 and I am setting mechanism constraints (Pre-Defined Constraint sets) to make a dynamic model. Into A.asm, I want to assemble another assembly, B.asm, which has multiple components that should be able to move relative to each other. I have B.asm set up so there are a few mechanism constraints that limit the range of motion so the components are tied together somewhat, but are still able to move as they should (rotate, translate, etc.). When I assemble B.asm into A.asm, I define multiple mechanism constraint sets (Pre-Defined sets) to constrain the parts of B.asm to parts of A.asm. This use of multiple constraint sets works really well until I get up to 8 different sets. Then, the last constraint set has its "Enabled" check box unchecked, so the set is Disabled. Whenever I click the check box to enable that last constraint, the constraint works fine and the B.asm connects in the model as it should--so there are no connection failures. But, after h

How can i change the dimension to the mean dimension?For example, I have the dimension 100 with the tolerance -0.1 and -1. The Mean dimension would be 99.45.How can show/activate that? 

Dear Community, Currently we are using Creo 7.0.12.0 but we are planning to update to a more recent version in the future. We try to enhance our 3D-Models with as much information as possible (MBD), but we have the struggle now, that 3D-files very fast get cluttered with annotations, dimensions, tolerances, etc. Especially when we are starting to assemble such 3D-parts. Is there any option available to add dimensions also to Simp Reps? We couldn't find any option and also the help documentation was not helpful. Thanks in advance for any hint!

I am trying to figure out how to route multiple harnesses along a path and have the actual diameter shown, and change, as harnesses are added or subtracted, so I know what size to make things like routing holes and wire trays.

HiMy customer try to unfix length of many fixed cable at once in very complex cabling assembly. He try to use "Free All Length" functionality, but it works only when proper - fixed length cable is selected. So the question is: how to find and select all cables containing fixed length to use the "Free All Length" functionality?Any ideas?

I must be losing my mind. Didn't Creo used to allow making a Diameter dimension in drawing mode of a side cross section edge or point using the 3 mouse clicks just like you can in part sketcher mode? I have a cross section view of a part that I want to CREATE a diameter type dimension from a centerline to an edge.  The entity was not made in the part mode with that feature dimensioned as a diameter so I cannot just show the dimension. In part sketcher mode, you can easily make a diameter dimension by left clicking the edge, left clicking the centerline, then left clicking the edge a second time and placing the dimension.I swear the exact same steps could be done in drawing mode when making an annotation dimension but it is not working.  I am using Creo version 7.0.5.0 and all it does when I perform those clicks is try to make a length dimension of the edge itself, not a diameter dimension.

Hello, I'm using Creo v 11 and it is continuously crashing when I try to open a Solidworks part file. I get no error message or notification, it just closes the program after loading for a bit. Has anyone else had this issue or have an idea of why this might be happening? Side note I cannot share the file as it is proprietary.

I have changed the detailed options for symbol_font to ASME and the additional symbols show up in the GD&T and Notes area however, the dimension text does not have the full list of symbols. How can I get this to update? The specific symbol I'm looking for is the spotface symbol. We're using Creo 7

Hello, Are Merge/inheritance feature accessible with a Creo Essential license ?I use this function in parts for years but recently we change our license "Creo Advance Design" for "Creo Essential". Since this the buttons are grayed out...Is it a problem with my creo install or a license issue ? Thanks in advance.  

Hi,I am using creo 8 with windchill 12.  I have multiple drawings where I run a model check, and get the error "Highlighted dimensions can not be regenerated". However, there are no dimensions on the drawing that are highlighted! This error prevents me from proceeding with a promotion request. Any ideas on how to understand what dimensions are causing issues?  Thanks

What date codes of SolidWorks can be opened in Creo 7.0.5.0 with Unite? Basically, I would like to utilize Solidworks data in a Creo 7.0.5.0 assembly and am searching for SolidWorks data code compatibility.
