This month’s challenge is based on magnetism. Create a Mathcad worksheet to answer any or all of the following:Basic Challenge: What is the magnetic field strength of 15 Ampere current in a wire at a distance of 0.25 meters? How many turns of wire will be needed to create an electromagnet capable of lifting 1 kilogram of ferrous material if the current is 0.25 Amperes, the lifting face of the magnet is a circle with a diameter of 5 cm, and the length of the coil is 0.1 m? Assume a relative magnetic permeability of 750. What is the total magnetic energy of the Earth? (Assume a magnetic field strength between 0.22 and 0.67 Gauss.) One resource for the equations to solve these problems is NASA’s Magnetic Math ebook. Graphing ChallengeCreate a 3D plot of the force generated by an electromagnet as a function of electrical current and surface area of the lifting face of the electromagnet. (Choose any values you want for the other parameters of the electromagnet.) Creative har
A sample of a variable name containing a superscript and subscript in the math formatted region is provided in the attached Mathcad Prime 10 file. I would like to edit the superscript to make a new variable name. I can edit everything except the superscript. Please advise on how this can be done? Please see attached file for more information.
I wanted to play with the advanced control Button Example with python script. I have different versions of python on 2 computers:My next step would be to download a newer verson of python onto the computer that fails and see if the problem with the control is resolved. But: how do I know which version Prime needs/uses? There doesn.t seem to be any documentation in Prime 11 other than a statement along the lines of "Prime will register python and enable python scripts".
The exact calculation of the bolt force in Simulate is only possible by means of contact analysis:
Hi,I need to create a simple sweep and don't understand if the section of the sweep has to be created obligatorily inside the command. Can't I create the sketch of the section outside the sweep command and select it inside afterward? i'm using Creo 8
I am using Creo Simulate Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.0.0Not converge for prescribed translationHere are the errors that I faced** Warning: Convergence was not obtained because the maximum polynomial order of 4 was reached.
Is there a way to change the license server for an existing Mathcad Prime installation without using the GUI within Mathcad? I haven't found anything besides changing the XML file for silent installs, but that's only for before it is installed. I'm able to achieve this for PTC Creo by changing a line in the parametric.psf file and would like to do something similar for Mathcad. Using various versions of Mathcad- 9, 10 and 11.
Hello,I’m working on a 2-speed transmission model in Creo Mechanism, and I need some help setting up the dynamic gear engagement behavior. The transmission has a neutral, 1st gear, and 2nd gear.I start the mechanism analysis in neutral condition. The input shaft is driven by a servo motor rotating at 1000 RPM.A second servo motor is used for gear shifting (e.g., a sliding collar or actuator). In neutral, all gear connections should be disengaged. When the output shaft engages with 1st gear, only 1st gear should be active, others disengaged.Similarly, in 2nd gear, only the 2nd gear should engage. All this should happen in one continuous analysis, driven by:One input servo motor (rotating shaft),One shifting servo motor (for gear selection). How can I simulate this type of dynamic gear engagement/disengagement in Creo Mechanism using just one servo motor for input and another for gear shifting?
Hello everyone,We just upgraded to CREO 11 from CREO 7. Axis are showing up as solid lines in models in 11 but show as center line 7. I've been looking for a config setting or something to fix it with no luck. Gets to be a mess with large parts. They display better in drawings, you can zoom in and see it's a center line at least. They show up correctly when printed. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hello, anyone knows how to change the background color of mathcad prime 1.0 sheet.thanks in advance for your help.
Is it possible to add a dimension reference to an existing ordinate dimension? In the image below, the top hole is a new feature. I want to add it to the existing ordinate dimensions, but can't figure out how without deleting everything and starting over.
I want to understand how difficult it would be to reproduce this functionality using the free version of JLink. Currently, we have some Smart Assembly licenses and use them for placing UDFs. How challenging would it be to achieve the same with JLink, so we can deploy to a larger group without relying on Smart Assembly licenses? Here is a sample bit of code that we use in Smart Assembly. Basically, it shows an image of what to select, and then the user makes a selection, which Smart Assembly uses to place the UDF.MESSAGE_BOX_EX IMAGE lib:PIC\TC_00_0.GIF GENERAL "TOPCAP AXIS" "SELECT TUBE SURFACE" BUTTONS JUNK USER_SELECT SURFACE TUBE_SURFACE CREATE_UDF lib:udf\new_axis THIS UDF_GROUP UDF_REF TUBE_SURFACE TUBE_SURFACE END_CREATE_UDF GET_GROUP_FEATURE UDF_GROUP 1 GROUP_FEA SET_REF_NAME GROUP_FEA "SA_TOP_CAP_AXIS" UNGROUP_FEATURES UDF_GROUP SEARCH_MDL_REF EXCLUDE_INHERITED THIS AXIS "SA_TOP_CAP_AXIS" TOP_CAP_SPRING_AXIS
Hi Dear, I am having a 2D Drawing which requires to show Dual dimensioning in a table for BOM. Option 1 (See attached image) :Right now by default in Creo 2D Drawing the dimensions shows up Top[mm] and Bottom[Inch]. Option 2 (see attached Image) : I would like to show dimensions side by side - Calling dimensions from Model. Left [mm] right sixe [Inch]. (I have manually written as of now in this image),I would appreciate if you can adivse how can I achieve option 2 for dimensions that are called from Model? Thanks so much in advance.
I solved a statics problem with Mathcad Prime 10 like this:Can any member suggest an elegant method to do this?
Afternoon,I am using the Mathcad Prime 10. I'm fairly new to Mathcad so there may be an obvious answer to this. I have a few graphs like this, and am needing to determine the value of v for each curve (green/blue) that gives a Y value of the red line. Is there an easy way to do this? Also, unrelated and mostly a formatting request, the Y-axis is Pressure, and will only display in Pa, I would prefer psi for this situation but cannot for the life on me figure out if I can change it. Any ideas? Thanks for your help in advance.
Creo is creating these loops when I route the cable, but they are not shown in the network routing. Yes, the network is continuous. The cable assembly is 4 separate connectors but the wires from one go to different connectors so they need to be on the same network. I'm not sure why this is happening. I am not recieving any network errors.
After choosing a bolt and corresponding nut, I get the attached error. The hole in the first part is created, but the hole in the second part of the bolted assembly does not get created.
I'm trying to create an R1/8 threaded hole as a mate to the component in the picture. The component is an R1/8 to 12mm push fit adapter. I tried to create a thread using the helix sweep feature but was unsuccessful. if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.
I am using Creo 9 and trying to align freestyle shape(s) to facet feature; not finding any way to do this.my goal is to make smooth shape from stl feature then be able to "shell" the model any help is greatly appreciatedthanksRich
Hi, I am trying to create a new format with titleblock & other model details. When the parameters are added in the title block the same is not updated when model is called in the drawing sheet. Kindy help.ThanksNaresh
Does anyone know why this is happening? I set all the "B" Labels to "Variable" and it still says undefined. I got this example from a youtube video and it gives a different error. This is pretty frustrating, not gonna lie. I am new to mathcad, so maybe it's something I'm doing. Here's to hoping you can help. Thanks
As per the original post.. Martin, Do you know if it possible to include conditional statements in a psf file?I'd like to be able to do something like the following, but it doesn't seem to to work:IF !DEFINE(CREOCACHEDRIVE) ENV=CREOCACHEDRIVE=C:ENDIF
Can you change the color of the Mathcad sheet background? Why is this still an issue in 2025?
