Creo 8: In an assembly, we're using a 40" flexible bellows vacuum line multiple times (3), but since it needs to be a single item line with the correct quantity of 3, it obviously can't be 3 separate parts. Yes, I could be sloppy and make 3 different parts but with the part number and description parameters the same, but that's not acceptable because it would make 3 different item #'s. It's not like bulk wire or tubing etc. where I could simply have a quantity of "AR", these are specific 40" bellows. Is there a simple way to do this? I was thinking it "might" be possible using multiple bodies, but we don't want to do that because our Windchill guys say multi bodies cause Windchill issues, plus I'm not an expert in using multiple bodies in Creo (used it quite a bit in NX 8.5 about 7 years ago though). Thoughts?
Now this gets tricky for me as I move ahead with Cabling.I have: = The whole vehicle assembly, -Sub assembly -Main Parts -Screws /nuts / boltsThen comes HARNESS at the end. Now I have 1098 Harnesses in this BEAST.What is the best way to organize my HARNESSES?? See attached image. What should be my approach?I have to get it right from get go or will waste 10x ::::))))If you guys can make me sleep well for this weekend, nothing like it 🙂 THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR TIPS!
Hello,Can someone explain how to hide a sweep profile curve in the model and drawing? Similar topics discussed setting the config.pro option 'mesh_spline_surface' to 'no'. I have tried this and it doesn't seem to work for me. Thank you.
Hello everyone!I want to share the information how to create custom projection views for diferent scenarios. It took me some time to get this done.If you want to create ISO, Dimetric or custom projection views you can do it by using these formulas:a= atan(sqrt(tan(α)*tan(β))/(tan(β))) - angle of rotation on vertical axisb= asin(sqrt(tan(α)*tan(β))) - angle of rotation on horizontal axisα and β - are the angles you want for projection view (ex. Dimetric view α = 7, β = 42)a and b are the input angles for rotation of the part, as a result you get α and β for the projection view. The best thing is to add a mapkey to do it for you:I've added this to my config file:!Dimetric viewmapkey ww1 @MAPKEY_NAMECreate a dimetric view;@MAPKEY_LABELDimetric view 1 (ww1);\mapkey(continued) `igToolbar_AncestorIGT_IGT_GRP_inh396938342.proe_win:casc340798662`;\mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdViewOrient` ;\mapkey(continued) ~ Select `orient` `SetupOptions` 1 `dynorient`;\mapk
Is it possible to suppress layers using relations or pro program? I have a part with all of the features possible built in and I suppress the features I don't want using parameters, relations and the model pro program. The problem I am having is when I need to add another feature to a group. When the new feature is added to the model tree in the existing group of features, the model program automatically adds an "end if" statement before the feature and the existing conditional statement after it. This essentially creates an island in the middle of the group that does not become suppressed with the group around it. On simple parts this is not a big deal as I can go in and fix it easily enough, but as the parts get more complex it gets much more complicated. Also, none of my coworkers are knowledgeable enough to editing pro programs at this time. What I want to do is put all of the features that should be grouped together on a single layer and then just use re
How can I define a path as an environment variable for CUSTOMIZATION_PATH in the AFX module that is accepted? Currently, I have to set this option via Creo, but it should also be definable in the PSF file or via a startup script. Currently, the module does not accept this environment variable even though it is included in Creo.
We started using IFX about a year ago and since then I have been improving and adding bolts and nuts to it. After some minor hiccups during the implementation, it works almost perfectly. All models are family table instances. But now a strange issue has turned up:After placing a sunken screw, which we don't use a lot (SCREWTYPE 60), all next screws (Hexagon, Cylinder head...) are placed "in" the material. The preview shows it already and, the distance constraint of the screw shows a strange value I do not recognize. Accidentally I found out that the "issue" was solved by once selecting the Coach bolt. It is not even necessary to place the Coach bolt, but only selecting it from the menu, and then selecting the desired bolt solves the issue and brings the system back to its normal state. When investigating I found out that for the Coach bolt I used the "non existend" SCREWTYPE 92. But it works fine!
Software crash- screenshot is taken – reason and possible solution need to find.Software parts regeneration – need to find out the reason first.
I was able to copy this activation key, which is valid for 72 hours, and paste it into the Manual Product Activation window to use it.The first time, I was able to use it for 72 hours without any problems. After 72 hours have passed, I want to use it again, so I do the same thing, but this time a window appears saying that key is incorrect and I can't use it. Question:Is this 72 hour activation just a for one-time use?
Any suggestions for the best way to create a cutout like the one shown, but on a circular pattern would be really helpful
Hello , How should I fix the following issue. Initially works fine but changing the units cause the following error.
Hello,I want to remove hidden lines in my half section (circled red in attached picture) but still have hidden lines activated in the remaning part of the view (circled blue in attached picture) - how can I make this happen? I'm currently on Creo 11Thankful for all the help I can get./ Andreas
Good day folks, This is Edward, I’m working on the generation of drawings with CREO Parametric with repetitive steps. I want to automate the generation of the same and found that by using a function called "Drawing Program" I can do it. However, I am new to this topic. I would like to know where I could start, some book, video, example, etc. , which can serve as a reference for me to be able to make sketches. Thanks in advance.
Currently using Creo version 9.0. I'm running into a situation where hole patterns show up in purple on drawings, even when things such as hidden quilts are checked off, and the display style is set to "no hidden". I've got an example below. The strange thing is that these don't show up immediately; I will put the view into place in the drawing, save and close out my work. When I open the drawing the next work session, they show up out of nowhere. I've verified that specifically, this occurs with patterns or mirrors of holes. The parent feature doesn't show up like this, only the child features. I can find them on the model tree and manually hide them, but for larger parts or assemblies this can be very tedious as it has to be done for each individual pattern on every part. These are particularly annoying because they show up when you export. Is there a setting to stop this from happening?
I have a few older Mathcad files. Some as old as v2001i. I would like to read the files to see if there is anything usable. I tried the free Mathcad version, but it will not open the files. Is there a way to see the files without Mathcad. I did have a license 20+ years ago, but not todayThank You
Hi, I´m new at creo 10.0, I have the task to find a solution for my problem. I have to find a way to build a part, which I can use as a reference model for the moulding process. The model have to be extern the real original cad model and bring some declerate references such as dimensions, surfaces and datas. Important is, the original model do never change, if i will work at the new copy model. Do anyone know a way, how I can do the implementation ? Thank you very much
Anyone deep dived into why symbol show broken?. For me everything looks and works good otherwise. I am definitely missing something. Hope it's not of great importance : ) C PIC. THANKS IN ADVANCE all Pundits! (Gurus)
I am using Creo 10 to create cable routing. I have a cable I'd like to edit its "To" location, but I cannot figure out how to delete or edit the current one. Everything else, locations and "From" locations are fine and there is no need for edit. Is there a way to do this before I delete and rerun?
Hi,We add multiple images to our Creo 3D cad model. But i can not control it through layers states, I want to show one image in one Combined state in MBD and want to show second image in other Combined state. Is their any process/method creo parametric we have. I am not able to find any on helptext.
Hi, how I can Build a reference Molding Tool Model in Creo 10.0I need a model which I can use some Parameters (Size, Material, Molding Part, number of pusher, handling variant) If I change the Parameters, the Model is still the reference model, but with the new sizes which come from the parameters.
Hi,I am creating one hole feature in part. When i am adding annotation element to show custom note of radius of hole, It shows dimensions in metric units. But part is in imperial units.Example, i have created one hole, its dimension in 0.625 inch. It should show same in note, but when i add it in note, it shows 15.9. I checked little bit. it is showing, displayed value, but i need real dimension value in note. Is their any way to do it, please let me know.My part unit system is Inch-LBs
Hi, I have an old Mathcad sheet and I am not sure why I can not get the final solution.
We recently moved to CED 20.6.2.0Now some models are not visible. Both in assemblies and loaded as single model. They ARE present in the structure browser, but they don't show up in the viewport. When "double clicked" they do highlight in the viewport. For some models changing the resolution makes them visible (although other models with the same resoltion are visible).Copying the invisible model makes the copy visible.Modifying the invisible model makes it visible.
Hello, I have a user who we recently installed a new license for to his machine. He went from a floating to a locked license and now the advanced assembly set and expert machine set don't function. When he opens creo he gets a license warning stating features not obtained: Advanced_assembly_set and Expert-Machine_set. We've checked the license file and those modules are listed. Is there a potential compatibility issue here? As he is running creo 8 but the license is for creo 11. Has anyone else ran into this issue before? I'll attach the picture of the error also.
What is the step / way to rename HARNESS in Creo Cabling. See image attached. THANKS IN ADVANCE! Yo
