I've been doing a bit of revamping my Mathcad Express worksheets to Mathcad Express 11. As part of this activity, I've updated my library of timing functions to reflect the way I've been using them. For example, timer1(f,a) used to return both f(a) and the time it took to evaluate f(a); now, it just returns the time taken, whilst timer1n(n,f,a) executes f(a) n times. For those of you with prior versions of Mathcad, here are the timing function definitions: Here is a good example of how writing recursive algorithms should be done with care, fib vs Fib. And here's a graph showing just how much worse the difference in Fib's performance gets as its input argument n increases. The timing functions are in the first Area in the attached Mathcad Express 11 worksheet (to make it easier to copy them to another worksheet or include them in a template). The utility of such functions is also evinced in: https://com
Hello, I have applied an appearance to a model for carbon steel. I added the appearance by highlighting the whole part, then selecting the desired appearance. Where the issue comes into play is if you modify the part in any way, it will change the cut/intersected surfaces back to the default generic/grey appearance while it needs to be the new carbon steel appearance. Is there some sort of setting to fix this? Please see example below.
Hello Assuming you have a matrix defined, is it at all possible to use (part of) this matrix to create the choices available in a "Basic combo box"?More explanation:I use READEXCEL to read a table from an Excel file, and get a matrix with column headers in the first row, and some other identifier in the first column. Can I put this matrix into a combo box, so that the user can select the relevant row for further calculations?RegardsHallvard
Hi!Recently we had a problem with updating views on drawing regarding AFX profils. The views do not reflect the changes made in the 3D. We are forced to manually update all the views for each drawing. Since we have hundreds of drawings per project, this takes an enormous amount of time. And normally, it used to work perfectly fine before. For the past few weeks, it hasn’t been working anymore. The variable auto_regen_views is set to ‘yes’.Has anyone else encountered this issue recently? Thanks for your help.
I'm using Creo 7.0.2.0 and working on implementing Model-Based Definition (MBD) at my company. Are there any specific config.pro or detail options that should be set or adjusted to better support MBD workflows?
We are new to MBD. How do we create the MBD format? Can we use the 2D format? Please share any link and youtube or videos.
How can I download the trial version of Mathcad Express? Im a University student, trying to download the program for one of my classes, but nothing happens after entering my data on this website: https://www.mathcad.com/en/try-and-buy/mathcad-express-free-download
Hello,When I make a drawing of a part, we are making it two pages as the second one is same for all including general information. I have a question. Can I make a .frm file and make a drawing with that format to have 2 pages? I do have .frm file for the first page for general title block and another .frm file for second page to insert after manually creating second page at the drawing. What I need create a two page .frm file and when I call it at the beginning it will create desired two page drawing without need of creating second page afterwards. Please ask if it is not clear for you. I will give my best to explain it better according to your questions.Thank you.

Please let me know if there is a good method for creating a winding model when creating a conductor model.Using a helical sweep allows for the creation of a winding with a consistent thickness, but since the coil height is 18mm and the wall thickness is 12.5mm, bending the model created with the helical sweep will cause interference with the coil. If you have a good method, please let me know.Coil SpecificationsOuter Diameter: φ50mmInner Diameter: φ25mmThickness: 18mmWinding SpecificationsWire Diameter: φ2mmNumber of Turns: 13 turnsWinding Arrangement: Wrap around the coil at 115° intervals, with 3 wraps.Gap Between Each Turn: 5°(Calculation: 115° * 3 + 5° * 3 = 360°)ConditionsThe distance between the winding wire and the coil is not constant, resulting in a zigzag shape in cross-section.(Some winding wires will be closer to the coil while others will be farther away.)The winding wires do not overlap.

Building a decent sized harness that will have a few places where things get spliced, found this video which give me some information on a way to do it...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1Ff4-zHkbA Few things I'd like to know is one is this the best way to add splices to a harness? Would there be a way to do it without adding another physical part to the mix? I have not verified this but doing it in this way would create a new wire number (W-1,W-2 etc) for each new wire that comes out of the splice which would show up as individual wires on a to from table in a drawing. Would there be another method that would call out all those wires as one wire number but still allow multiple gauges? If this is the only way then I get it Creo being Creo. I just find it hard to believe that there isn't a way to splice wires without adding another solid body to the harness assembly and just doing it right in the harness menu.
Hello, I am using Notebooks, Relations, and pro program to configure top level General Assemblies. The problem is, I keep getting the following error when regenerating one of our top level assemblies (blurred out some of the numbers): WARNING: More than one common interchange group found.More than one common interchange. Attempting to replace with xxxxxxxx_INT.Pro/Program replace of component xxxxxxxxxxxx (M94) failed in Assembly xxxxxxxxx.Aborting regeneration due to failures executing Pro/Program. The notebook relations to drive parameters are similar to what you see below Starter_name & Starter_Number are parameters. Starter_Number is the part number in windchill 11.0 commonspace. pro/program example is shown below The issue is that we have a new interchange assembly that is set up correctly to swap these starters. For some reason, Creo wants to use an older interchange that is not set up correctly, but has one of the models inside it. Is
Hello to everyone, I have a new laptop where I have already installed Mathcad Prime 11.00, but some of my old Mathcad 15 files still do not work well in Mathcad Prime when I convert them.I still have the Mathcad 15 package saved in my cloud, but I don't know how to make it work. What should I do to make it to work? regards, Rogelio
My classmate registered for MathCad (trial subscription) but did not receive any emails from PTC/MathCad. Our professor insists that we use MathCad, but he cannot do homework because his registration never went through. Please advise.
My string library defines three different representations of a string, two of which should already be familar: the string and the vector of character codes. The third type is the vector of characters. In the following, "str" indicates a string, "vec" indicates a vector of character codes, and "chr" represents a vector of characters. For example, chr2str indicates a conversion from a string to a vector of characters. chr2str itself is relatively quick, even for long strings. chr2str0 has the limitation of hitting Mathcad's recursion depth limit. chr2str2's use of folding over concat, however, is proving somewhat slow once the string length increases to above about 20,000. The challenge is to define a faster recursive variant of chr2str. Where the dependencies are as shown below (except the timer functions, which are in an Area at the top of the attached Mathcad Express 11 worksheet). Stuart
I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.8.0While trying to set up ModelCheck, the instructions say to go to "To configure the Creo ModelCHECK settings, click File > Options > Environment > ModelCHECK Settings." However, that menu option (Environment) is not available to me.How do I get File > Options > Environment to become available to me?Here are the errors that I facedNone
I have a part with Appearance State already defined, how do I "link" that appearance to the assembly? Context: I already defined 3 appearance states of a part by assigning colors to various surfaces (for texture map, finished product color, and the default model color). In the assembly, is there a way to quickly switch between these Appearance States of the part? The appearance state of the assembly seems completely independent of the part's appearance. I figure it is to be done via layers or representations, but had zero luck. Thank you.
I'm using MathCAD 9.0.0.0. I laid our 2 sets of 3 equations. One set is using variables. The other set has the values plugged straight in. The set with the variables should equal the set with the values because the values are the same, but they don't and none of them equal the correct answer. What should happen is...Rx=Rx=-22Ry=Ry=211.5R=r=213My MathCAD program is written to follow this example...This is how my MathCAD program looks...Ignore the 25 degrees and the 75 degrees in the diagram. This is a homework problem altered to match the example problem so I can test to make sure it works before plugging in the values for the homework problem. Also, I'm interested in fixing the "values" problems Rx, Ry, and r. I only created those to figure out why my variable problems Rx, Ry, and R aren't working. Attached is my program. Thanks, Brent
I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.6.0Unable to find where Creo Chromium-browser-cache is located for Creo 11.0.6.0 on the client to be able to clear it at every Creo start.
I'm using MathCAD 9.0.0.0. I'm not sure why I'm getting the wrong answer. The calculation should be...R = 329.687 N...but I'm getting...R = 108695.156 NIs there something wrong with my settings? Thanks, Brent
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.8.0Basically I’m trying to learn how to create a hole feature UDF with pro program embedded in it where pro program would be prompting user to read values from a text file which would create a different size hole each time the UDF was placed. If I had a part model that had 3 different size tapped holes, could I place the same UDF 3 times but each time read the text file (modified with new values) to create a different size hole (8-32, ¼-20, etc.) Or is this not what Pro Program was intended to do?

Does anyone know why the attached issue is occurring? It seems that when you run units of feet, there is some kind of internal rounding error.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.3.0We would like help understanding how to edit a Comfort Angle file (mca) for a Manikin comfort analysis. We are trying to correlate the PTC provided zero gravity file with NASA documentation and getting results that don't quite make sense.
