Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I have created gyroid structures in creo and want to export it as a step or iges file to work in ANSYS, but if I try to do so, except for the gyroid every other part is getting exported. Is there a solution to this problem. Also I can export it as a STL file which turns out to be heavy, which is not feasible to work with.

I didn't find any interface related to the Create_balloons function in my API wizard. I use Creo Parametric 4.0 version, I am trying to use VBAPI to create balloons by view automatically . Is there any interface can help me with that? Or other ways to take me there. 

Hi there, I installed the student version of Creo 8.0.4.0, I know that I do not have a cutting-edge computer to run some of the extensions of creo such as creo simulate live, creo render studio and others... that is why I just installed CREO PARAMETRIC. However, when the installation was done, I got the message INSTALLED WITH ERRORS, I opened the message to see what the error was and it showed: your computer doesnt support creo simulation liv ( I said it doesnt matter because I did not installed that extension) as I said before I just installed creo parametric. Therefore:1. I opened Creo to start getting familiar with the software, I clicked on CREATE NEW PART, then I scrolled up and down on the drop-down menu to select a TEMPLATE (I think it is for units selection) BUT I could not be able to select the template I wanted, it automatically asked me to select a template again, I TRIED to select a different one but nothing, then I DECIDED to click on and selected EMPTY and it worked,

Hello all,  I'm looking for a way to set a default option for number of decimals shown in a drawing dimension. The obvious answer here is to change the config option default_dec_places, which will achieve my goal. But the problem is, that also changes the dimension decimal places in a .prt sketch as well. I would like to have these two dimensions decimal places default to different numbers. See below.   SKETCHER - .XXXXDRAWING - .XX Is this possible?  Thanks,Kevin

We are doing trivially simple analyses in Creo 9.0 Simulate (Not Simulate Live...) and we are consistently crashing the computers.  (Problems taken from or similar to exercises in an SDC textbook.)  See the attached for the specifications on these computers.  I have some students that know a lot about using FEA and they are not having any more success with the classroom computers. What might I (the instructor) try, to stop these crashes?  Do we need to upgrade our computers?  I suspect this is true.  However, are there things we could change/try on these computers that would help?  (See the attached pictures, which I believe have sufficient information for people to comment.)  https://prodart.pl/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/creo9_hardware_notes.pdf This link seems to say that Dell computers with AMD graphics are NOT approved?  And it appears that these computers have AMD GPUs and are Dell computers.Any input I can get would be a

I  am having trouble creating properly dimensioned drawings of compound miter cuts on HSS square tubes. The annotations are difficult for the shop to interpret. ( see picture attached) So the next best thing is a pipe wrap template that the shop can use to mark the tube for cutting.I've had some luck:1. converting to sheet metal and then making a flat pattern drawing and exporting to DXF for laser cutting a marking template and also2. some luck creating a surface wrap and unfoldng that as well. Neither one is ideal however, and both were found by accident and not easily repeatable. Furthermore the "convert to sheet metal" method was irreversible so it requires making copies of all the tubes in the model which is a royal pain when there are more than a few parts.  

Hello, I am wondering if there is a method to use Distributed Batch to backup drawing files (and all associated assembly + part files) to a directory ? I attempted this using the mapkey.ttd and then including my config.pro containing a mapkey that recorded: Save a backup (while in a drawing file) > OK > Yes to the two prompts that appeared. The error I receive in the log is [-4] Error: Incomplete input data. Hi, we are looking to implement a custom fastener library using IFX in our department. It will require customisation of all fasteners, forming new file names and assigning custom parameters. On the positive side, I think I can find all of the required types of fasteners in default IFX library, which makes building a custom one much easier. I have tested it for a couple of weeks with building a couple of custom fasteners and it went almost flawless.  Now the question is - what unforseen challenges may arrise during development and using it? I m struggling to find a way to create a single draft entity line on a drawing sheet.   Looking to create a line at 0,0 and go to 1,0 (x direction) or from 0,0 to 0,1 (y direction).   Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a UDF that creates threaded internal holes.  In the UDF family table exists all the information that is needed to create a note on the drawing for describing the thread, depth etc.  Is there a way to create a note from the table columns without having the user select each dimension?Note should read as below:     1/4-20 UNF-2B     Major Dia.: .5000     Pitch Dia.: .4565/.4500     Minor Dia.: .4340/.4170What I would like is an annotation to be created when the thread UDF is ran.  The UDF may be ran several times on one part & this is the reason to need it created as the UDF is ran.  This way the user can show/erase the annotations and reduce the chance of errors.

Currently, this version of Creo only allows you to change its results into the following formats: I want to convert my analysis results from these above formats to Excel format. I tried surfing online regarding the same but couldn't find it. Hi,Does toolkit offer the possibility of developing a CAD model directly using programming language. Like all command like extrude and all can be programmed according to dimesional requirements without building any CAD model in actual.   

I was wondering if anyone knows how to select the surfaces highlighted from a semantic query? For example, I want to be able to select all GTOL annotations in my model and put the surfaces related to them under a layer. By right-clicking the GTOL layer and selecting "select items", the surfaces I want all show up under semantic query, but they aren't actually selected for, say, changing the appearance. If anyone knows how to do this with or without the semantic query tool, your help would be much appreciated. Also, my company is removing licenses with the GD&T advisor, so something like that wouldn't be an option. Thanks! Version: Creo 11

CREO 8.0/5.0Inserted exploded view on sheet-11 of the parts is like transparent. Outlined, Like the tangent lines you can see all the way thru the part.The part in the assembly model is solid. Not toggled to transparent.The part is an imported part from McMaasterCarr. But we use hundreds of their models with no issues.

I tried wrapping OTK C++ to create a dialog. What I learned is that it is possible to manipulate the user interface of CREO when setting the style of the dialog to uifcDIALOG_STYLE_PARENT_AND_MENU_MODAL. At the same time, when you open the dialog interface of other creo, the dialog created by OTK will be closed. In general, there are no exceptions as follows the sample code. LIKE：uifcCreateDialog, uifcActivateDialog, uifcExitDialog and uifcDestroyDialog return 0 andno exception is thrown.But I get an exception when I call the function uifcActivateDialog in a function that is rewrapped. Hello CAD admins, you probably also provide your users with a company-config.pro with standard mapkeys in the text directory of the Creo installation.In our case it happens again and again that users create their own mapkeys (which is legitimate), but when saving them they manage to write out the complete company-config.pro into the local one in the home or start directory.Since the local mapkeys have the sovereignty, the users do not get changes to the mapkeys in the company-config.pro anymore.As far as I know, the default mapkeys can't be packed into a config.sup either, because then the users can't create their own mapkeys anymore.How do you deal with the problem of overwritten default mapkeys?   Regards, Domenic

Hello, I am trying to create a map key that will auto create the new "enclosure volume" feature then take its x,y,z dimensions and add them to a parameter in my bill of materials. My biggest issue is the enclosure volumes parameters have an "internal feature ID" attached to them and is unique between components if I want to reuse this map key which then causes failures in the relations for PTC_BBOX_X:FID_(should have an ID number instead of stars.) I tried to incorperate copy and pasting the the feature ID from the feature information but that part of the map key doesnt work as it only pastes what was copied when map key was made. Hello everyone, I'm trying to find a way to show the file save iteration number in a drawing in Creo (Version 4.0 and higher). It will be used for projects without a PDM system to show the exact save iteration, in addition to a revision parameter.For example for a drawing of a part named DUMMY.PRT.35 I would like to extract the number 35 either directly in the drawing and show it in a note -or- in the part model by placing it into a parameter I can reference in a drawing note.I haven't found if this is possible somehow. The rel_model_name and model_name parameters do not seem to provide this functionality?Any help is appreciated!

I'd like the "T" shortcut to permanently be mapped to a command, not a map key. So I click on the command option. However, whenever I restart Creo, it forgets my selection and this dialogue box appears again. How do I make it remember my selection by default (automatically)? I am running Creo 10.  

Hi all,  I was looking at getting some guidance with simple assembly within CREO.  I've been tasked to a create an assembly in which I am given 2 complete parts as well as am required to create a third part for this assembly.  When creating the third part of the assembly  is should be drawn that A1 = B1 and A2 = B2, meaning that this component updates automatically depending on the modification made to the first two components which exist in the assembly.  How do I go about this? Do I create a seperate brand new model and then add this to the main assembly. OR should I assemble the first two parts together and then create a new part within this assembly. This is to made made that no clashes or gaps happen within the main assembly model
