Hi all,We use Creo Parametrics 8.0, create MBD in 3D. Creating Combined States later used for 2D drafting views. If I create Dimensions and Annotations in the 3D model, they remain invisible for the part covered by volume. Example:highlighted Annotationsnot highlighted Annotations Does anybody know, whether the visibility of the Annotations can be forced? Thank's for help!
Hello Could you please help me with the issue below ? When I create a new setting in a material inside CREO data base (for example, norm_material), I incorporate the setting into the material in order to it see in the part list on the drawing. For that I use the following formula : norm = norm : MTRL_XX (XX means increment). The issue here is : It does not work because of the increment. I don't want to add the norm manualy on each part, I want the material to add automatically the norm from the materail setting into the part list instead. Like that i can change the part material and the linked norm follow with. Looking forward for your return. Thanks in advance Kind regards,
Since the release of Creo+ and the PTC Admin Center I've been playing around and exploring the possibilities of the platform. One thing I can't seem to get a grasp of is the purpose of the Groups inside the PTC Admin Center. So far, you can create, edit and delete groups and add/remove people to a group but it seems like there is no functionality linked to these self-created groups outside of the Groups tab. I tried searching the help centers and documentation and I only found a page explaining how to add/edit/delete groups but it doens't explain what you can do with Groups in the Creo+ Portal or the PTC Admin Center:https://support.ptc.com/help/ptc_saas/admin/en/index.html#page/admin/Create_Groups.html#
First I imported some dentures I found on google and used view>images>import to place it on a plane. Then I scaled it according to an 8mm diameter hole for a tooth. I traced it by creating a sketch roughly in this shape and extruded it as a body. Then I created an offset curve and put 8mm circles along it spaced out. This allowed me to extrude the holes for magnets. I mirrored the entire body on a plane at 30mm which gave me the ability to create the hinge and stop in context. I merged all the bodies and split them along a hinge cut away. An auto round on all bodies and it looked good enough to print. I exported each body as a part and printed in ASA red. It was fun and multi-body changed the way I design. Download here:
I use Creo Parametric 7.0.8.0.I have a problem with EZ Tolerance extension, my problem is described bellow. I was using set of a shaft and a bearring with a hole, firstly I calculated it by hand ańd then with EZ Tol., but the results were not same. Here are my calculations:1. Nominal ClearenceHole-Shaft=(0.3760-0.3745)/2= 0.00075 mm2. Maximal clearence3. Minimal clearence EZ Tol did the Nominal clearence good, but not the min/max clearence. (I attached some pictures with the assembly). Thank you.
Hello all, I am having some variability and issues with how Creo flow (7.0.8) behaves when trying to display outputs. This leads to three questions which would be great to understand. I guess the answers are in the config files, but can't seem to find the right parameters. 1. Transparency of a solid domain (showing temperature) used to also allow visibility to streamlines within the part. However, now for whatever reason it doesn't allow this. How can I get this ability back again? 2. Is there a way to change the outline colour from the very thick blue lines? They currently wipe out all detail with fine PCB components. Ideally 1 px and black. 3. At one point my model decided to show its own outlines, as 1px and grey. These weren't turned on as outlines, but were something to do with the 'flow analysis bodies' turned on. If I can get these to show then it will solve problem #2! Many thanks
Hello I am some problem with the default coordinate system. I am using student editionIn part designI want to interchange Axis is such a way that my XY plane which is Front view by default to Top view by default and vice versa. But I am unable to change orientating in edit definition
Hi All, Does anyone use dependent sketches with options to vary? We do often and the child sketches are automatically renamed when the parent is updated. Take a look here and let me know your thoughts. Please upvote if you have struggled with this. https://community.ptc.com/t5/Creo-Parametric-Ideas/Dependent-Sketches-with-Varied-Items-Name-Override/idi-p/899461 Thanks!
I am using Creo Parametric Release 5.0 and Datecode5.0.0.0We used Core 5.0 to draw 3D model drawings, and found that the CORE was quite sluggish during use, especially during cutting and measurement, with the image size around 1.5G. After investigation, it was found that Core 5.0 only uses a single CPU core, and our computer's main frequency is I5-12400F. We hope that the Core can use multiple cores for calculation. Can you provide a solution or do software versions need to be upgraded? Here are the errors that I facedno
Good morning, Currently, in our CREO setup, a user has the ability to open an assembly that has components that have failed placement. He can work quietly, make backups, etc. I would like to know if there is an option that: - forces a designer to correct the placement of a component when opening - or prevent the saving of the assembly if the placement of a component is failed. In the past (in creo 2 and 3), CREO "forced" us to correct the placement of a component when opening an asm, and the CAD administrators have changed, this obligation has disappeared and currently we are thinking about restore this option. However, I didn't find what I was looking for in the assembly configuration options. Could you help me?Regards
hi All since eastern, we are using creo 7.unfortunately, we have huge performance issues on bigger assemblies.we already checked config option, graphic card settings etc. but nothing seems to work. some basic features or working steps take up to 10 min (copy paste a part, start the measuring feature, simply rotate the model). does anyone have experience with similar problems or knows some settings/requirements which need to be done on hardware side? we are working on windows 10 laptops, 32GB RAM, 4GB Graphic card RAM GDDR5 or GDDR6 thanks in advance.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.0.0I've just dug out on old, legacy (10 years) creo parametric file and opened in Parametric 9. When I look under View->Saved Orientations I don't get the standard lists of Front, Back, Top etc (see screenshot above). Do I need to somehow convert to latest Creo version to recover that, or is there something else I should do? Or do I need to start again? Under File I do not see File>Import.
Does anyone know why a simulation would run past the iteration limit? I had a run going yesterday set to the default 500 limit, and I didn't realize it ran right past it. I manually stopped it at the 516th iteration. I double checked and the limit was set correctly, so what could have caused that? Thanks!
I have a robot leg CAD and I need to run FEA on several key poses. Now I have these key poses stored in 'drag component' as different Snapshots (see picture below). And I have Simp Rep that hides all the non-structural components. However when I open Simulate, the model always seem to go to the default pose ('neutral_pose'). Any idea how to simulate diffrent poses?
I have a Creo assembly (saved as from another assembly) that, when I go to open in Creo, crashes the session. I provided PTC Tech Support with the assembly and they can't replicate the crash - i.e. it opens fine on their end. It doesn't open on any of the systems we have. I can only open the model if I select "Open Subset" and then activate the Master Rep from within there. But if I forget and from Windchill select "Open In Creo", it crashes Creo. The same crash happens if I export the files to the C:\ drive and open from there so it isn't Windchill related. Creo writes a handful of files in addition to the traceback.log to the start directory. And it's been writing a Creo file in there that doesn't open in Creo ("Cannot retrieve file" says the error when I tried). That Creo file is explicitly called out in the std.out file:Is there a way to find out what the file is in real life? Does anyone have any other troubleshooting exercises or codes to decipher the tr
I am using Creo Parametric Release 9.0 and Datecode9.0.5.0I want to do structural analysis for an simple cantilever beam with varying force data from csv file can we do that in creo with its stimulaion
In Creo Simulate, is there a method to define a rotary joint between two components in a four-bar linkage mechanism? Will apply constraints such that the assembly is fully constrained. I've tried the 'pin' joint, but it's wrt the world, not between two parts. I've also tried 'displacement' with a body-attached cylindrical csys, but no luck. 'Contact' option also doesn't work. The rotary joint seems to be a pretty basic function in FEM/FEA, am I missing anything?
Hello, I am working on a few automation projects on Creo 4.0 using the VBA API toolkit.I have set a macro that searches for empty layers in my model and deletes them : this works as intended but after running the macro, the deleted layers still show in the layer tree. They can't be interacted with so they are indeed taken as deleted, but hitting regenerate, or repaint does not erase them from the tree, for the regenerate it is because for creo there is nothing to regenerate (I get the message 'part' not changed since last regen)However, if I do any change in the model (add a sketch or an extrude), the layer tree refreshes and removes the deleted layers.I am looking for any idea to get the layer tree to refresh because even though the intended function works just fine and I can just keep going and it'll update after a change, I don't find it "tidy" to have these ghost layers lying around ^^ I thought about creating a dummy sketch to force the regen and then delete it, but I wonder i
Hi, I will like to copy the active part in Creo to a folder outside Windchill by using Jlink. Can any of you help? Allan
As per the original post. I am atttempting to write a batch file to open and automatically run a specific license, THEN if i can get past that point i would like to have it login to winchill automatically also. HOWEVER I am on the fist step and i cannot seem to bypass the license options window and i have to select enter each time. would you be willing to let me know what your backend batch file code was that when the users select #6 is starts in design essesntials instead of the native filing ..etc? currently i am simply calling the code below but it has no direction as to which license to use so it promts a window for selection: CALL "Z:\CREO4\Creo 4.0\M150\Parametric\bin\Parametric.exe"
is there any way to sort simple repeat region ?
Hello all, I am trying to create an upper level skeleton file that its parent assembly can leverage the "substitute" feature in the view manager to cascade changes to lower parts. Below this "Module" level assembly would be a sub assembly that contains its own skeleton file aka "Sub Skeleton* that is leveraged for a flexible part. In this sub skeleton I am trying to use copy geometry to look "Up" at the family table as a whole. The interaction I am looking for is as such. The Module level skeleton will have a Csys that will adjust between two determined "X" coordinate locations. The Sub-Assembly I want to look at the family table and simply look at the location depending on what instance is leveraged, but my intention is that this sub-assembly will not have to be two separate parts because it is trying to view get ID's from what thinks is two separate feature ID's.Does anyone have any idea of this is possible, or have a suggested way of doing this?
Dear Community I would like to show this "shelf" in a "Down" and "Up" position on the drawing. (See Image below) What is the best way to add these parts to the assembly without having them on the BOM? We could delete them from the BOM on the drawing, but that brings the risk of someone forgetting to delete it from the BOM. So ideally the parts would be marked as non BOM parts when placing them in the assy. Thanks for your suggestions! Best wishes Alex
hello,i would like to ask about the creation of the force on a round surface. L'ets say we have a cylinder and a radial force is applied, ususally the force is perpondicular to the axe of the cyliner, but on creo simulate this was not the case , visually the force was not perpondicular
I have a message error in a repeat region with relation. I have 2 assembly types:- ASM 1- ASM 2In the ASM 1 I have the AC1_LEN_SE parameter, which is a tube length parameterIn the ASM2 I have the AC1_LEN_XX parameter, it is also a tube length parameter) We need to know the total tube length by subassembly reference, whatever the assembly typology. My repetition table is used in the drawings of asm1 and asm2. I have the desired result, but I have the following message which I do not understand."There are errors regenerating repeat region relations." Can you help me understand this message and how to resolve it? Below you will find the table. Greetings
