Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Maybe I'm jaded but i spent 10 seconds looking at this and it reinforces how cryptic creo can be. A good example would be a physical parameter (length. mass etc). None of this explains how the itemized list relates to actual parameters in the model. It is insanely maddening how non-intuitive this feature is. Most of us are designers and software users, not software engineers.    I have CSL loads that I would love to report on a drawing. I copy/paste and its there. That is like a stone tablet. why can't this information be available in a table?

I present to you my failures. I need a better hack. CREO 7.0.3.   What?: What I was trying to do is nothing new. Creating an inspection number symbol/mapkey to place and increment next to dimensions.   Why?: Because best case I have 11 clicks/selections to place current symbol/relate/set with average probably closer to 17 for one symbol. 150 inspection items x 17 clicks/selections = 2700 clicks/selections. My previous job drafting department refused to do inspection numbers. I can see why now that I do my own drafting and my current job does inspection numbers.  Goal?: Select dimension, run mapkey, done. 2 clicks. Solution made within CREO. No 3rd party tools other. I separated it out into steps. I would either combine the code at the end or nest the mapkeys.   DONE: Symbol with variable text inside (it is an oval the same as the oval around a dimension if the display is set to inspection). May need to do more here. origin? offset? baked into symbol for easier init

Does anyone know how to make a mapkey (Creo 9+) to consistently select features by name? For example, here is an old one: mapkey sx #sel by menu; #axis; ~ Select `sellist0` `Namelist`1 `A_1`;Super simple, selects the axis "A_1" in nearly every situation in Pro/E. Use it when defining features, use it in sketcher when selecting references, and when dimensioning. Works in part, sketcher, etc.. No need to have axis visible, and no need to scroll the model tree to find it. Super consistent, and always works. How can we do that in Creo? I want to do it (again) for all the normal datums that are standard for my start files. It's extremely useful for defining sketch placement, making measurements, placing dimensions, defining references, etc.. Unfortunately, I don't see how to use the new selection by name spaghetti of Creo to do it consistent for all situations. Anyway, the standard scrolling for datums all the time is SSOOOO slow with large parts and assemblies - making

Good day. We have a large assembly and want to break it up into smaller representations as would typically be the case. We have a large Bill of Materials (BOM) for the Master representation and then of course the smaller BOMs appear for the step-by-step assembly representations. Problem is that the index/item number changes within the smaller BOMs compared to the master rep BOM. Is there a way to match the master rep. BOM index/item number to the smaller BOM for the smaller representation? Another problem is that the smaller representations cannot be ballooned from the large BOM as the large BOM is linked to the Master rep. Is there a way to allow ballooning a smaller representation ISO views from the Master rep. BOM? 

I'm creating an assembly in Creo 9 where each subset has a different PROJECT_NAME and I would like the IFX items to have PROJECT_NAME at the beginning of their names. It's possible?     

I hope you're all doing well. I've recently encountered a challenge while working on my CAD drawings, and I'm in need of some guidance. Specifically, I'm looking for a way to move the callout arrowhead to the center of a hole in my drawings, rather than having it point to the edge of the circle. I believe this adjustment would enhance the precision and clarity of my designs.

Hello All,I am having an sample assembly (with 2 sub part in it) on which I am running Modelcheck on all level on main assembly. Showing me  0 error.When I open subpart & ran Modelcheck showing an error layer. My question is, why sublevel error is not picked by Top level modelcheck run even after I ran for all sub level. I am trying to create a title block for my template and currently facing an issue with Creo Parametric where the "Report Symbol" is not showing up as expected. I don't even see it under 'data' Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, could you please guide me on how to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 

Guys, with the objective of creating a project with sheetmetal parts of various sizes depending on variables, which is better: creating the project using skeleton and publish geometry, or working with flexibility and datum planes? From what I saw, publish geometry references all components in the skeleton, and there would be no way to generate flat files (necessary for .DXF for laser cut) for each part using family table. Would it be possible? 

IS there any way to reposition the SIZE callout of a datum target balloon?   So for this example, is there a way to move the "50X100" so that things are clearer?     

I've been working on a project using Creo and I've encountered an issue that has me stumped. I noticed that even after I've locked the centerline, it still moves unexpectedly. This happens even though no additional forces or constraints are being applied to it. (view in My Videos)

Hello,   I'm new here, hope to get the support I need with my first post.   As a designer engineer in rolling stock, I'm considering the use of Spec-driven piping within Creo Parametric 8, and working within EN standards I wonder if it is possible to define pipes with an alternative to the API schedule rating. For instance I got a copper pipe OD12 x 1mm thickness within EN 1057 which does not use schedule rating, so I don't know how to fill in the SCH_RATE in the Pipe Master Catalog csv file. Can I leave it empty? The alternative I thought is to fill the field with a made-up number/code but I'd rather to avoid this way. So does Creo Parametric Piping take in consideration piping out of API/ASME specs?   Thank you all in advance for your help!            

Hello everyone,I am currently working on a project using PTC Creo, and I've encountered a scenario where I need to measure the minimum distance between two holes in a part. I'm not entirely sure what steps to follow to accurately measure this distance within the software.I've looked into the 'Analysis' tab and found the 'Measure' option, but I'm not sure if I'm using it correctly. Could anyone guide me through the correct procedure to measure the minimum distance between two holes, either in Part or Assembly mode?I appreciate any tips or step-by-step instructions you could provide.Thanks in advance! 

Hello,I'm new to the integrated mold analysis in Creo.However, the tool with it's fiber orientation calculation possibilities appears to be promising for my topics. For the part design and the regarding analysis, I'd be very happy to use the calculated fiber orientation in Creo Simulate calculations. Is there a possibility to transfer the fiber orientation (and material properties) to Creo Simulate? Best regards, Daniel

is there any easy way to import .stp assembly file into part as single file ? pls assist. I tried converting assembly as Parasolid model and imported into the part. but it was unsuccessful.    

Hello everybody, what is the difference of copy geom and mergein Creo Parametric? Both are techniques to share data. With the copy geom I can get data from one model to another model. For example the body surface, Then I can solidify this surface and I have the same result when using merge.  Thanks for your help.       

Hello everyone,I'm currently working on implementing an auto-naming system for parts and assemblies in Creo Parametric. My goal is to have the name generated based on a combination of a unique identifier and the type of part (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.). The idea is to have a function like this:  new_name = "PART_" + TYPE_SELECTION + "_" + UNIQUE_ID  For the TYPE_SELECTION, I want to create a dropdown list of options, and for UNIQUE_ID, I'm looking for a way to make it increment by 1 automatically each time a new part is created.I was able to add basic parameters via Tools > Parameters, but I'm not quite sure how to make TYPE_SELECTION a list of predefined options or how to auto-increment UNIQUE_ID.Does anyone have experience setting up something similar? Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated! 

I'm currently working on an assembly where I need to ensure that the hole locations on two different parts are identical. Specifically, I want to project or reference the holes from Part B onto Part A within the assembly. I've explored a few options but haven't found a straightforward way to achieve this. Any help or advice would be much appreciated! 

Hello friends, I am using Creo parametric 8.0.4.0, I have a task my collogue shared the model and I have done the task nearly 90% and now my collogue shared the new model, which is modified, now again I have to do the task from first or there is any other way to update the work of previous model with the new model. So can anyone help me with this problem.Thank you   

 I'm working on a project and have encountered a challenge with changing the reference point of a triangle in Creo. As illustrated in the attached picture, I need to move the reference from its current location on one of the triangle's vertex to a designated point shown in red. Any suggestion? 

 I'm working on a project that requires me to view dimensions in both metric and imperial units for parts and assemblies. Is there a way to enable dual dimension display in Creo Parametric for this purpose?I've looked through the Configuration Editor but couldn't find a definitive answer. If anyone knows how to set this up or if it's even possible, your advice would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance for your assistance! 

I am working on creating an application to insert parts into an assembly. I want to be able to recognize that a model being has predefined flexibility. When operating Creo manually if you insert a model with predefined flexibility Creo will tell you that and ask if you want to use it. However there does not seem to be an equivalent function in the C++ toolkit.What I have been trying to use is the method wfcWModel::isVariantFeatModel(), however this always returns false. I have tried using pfcSession::RetrieveModel() and pfcSession::GetModelFromFilename() to retrieve the model before checking it, but both yield the same result.I am hoping that someone may have some insight to make this work.I will also note that the method wfcWComponentFeat::IsFlexible() exists but this will only recognize components that already have flexibility 'turned on'
