Creo+ and Creo Parametric

We are wanting to add image files to some drawing but the "Insert Object" option does not work. All I get is an image placeholder that links me to the image but I don't see the actual image on the drawing.Any ideas?ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

It used to be that you needed REX to solidify an imported facet feature, but I'm wondering if this can now be done by importing mesh geometry into a Freestyle feature and then solidifying the geometry? This might be underplaying the power of the updated Freestyle feature, but it would be pretty handy to be able to quickly import and immediately edit files for which only facet data is available.

Hi everybodyI'm a french student and I use Pro Engineer Wildfire 4.0 with a student license for a CAD project.I would like to save my .prt files in step 3D, but i can't choose this file extension when I save my project ...Does anyone have a solution ? Hello. I model my own car in Style Tool and face a small problem. I don't understand why does curve direction flip after dropping it on a surface? Here is a picture to make it more clearly for you.In this picture, there are directions (End 1, End 2) of all curves I need that are marked by arrows.        So, my question is: How to make the direction of the projected curve (the arrow of yellow color) from up to down. Thank You in advance. 

I had my license file on a drive (called D drive) that I formatted last year. When I run setup and select the license file on my C drive it says it's valid and I press finish, but when I run Creo Parametric  it pops up the "License request failed for feature" and below that shows the "Requesting PROE_Essentials" and "D:\...dat (-1) Cannot find license file." So it's not updating the license file location it seems. Where is it storing the license location string? Is there a manual way to update that without uninstalling and reinstalling the whole program? (Not sure if uninstalling would fix this). Creo 5 is installed on C and the license file is on my desktop on C along with the setup files. I have no other drives connected anymore. I read that there was a C:\ProgramData\PTC folder but I don't see any Licensing folder in there. Just a Creo and QualityAgent folder.

Perhaps I may have inquired on this years ago, but I am wanting to find the center of gravity points for a series of sketches which will be strung together as a reference for a Swept Blend. I do not own BMX so I can't directly enter the needed points in the model. Is there a best way of determining the sketch center of gravities and place the corresponding point in the sketch? In the past I used a work around in which I had to solve for each of the X, Y and Z values with an extrude to each section and separately enter the X,Y and Z values.  In Creo 7 it is seeming to be more of a challenge, but I likely eventually will figure out how to use the slow method.  By any chance is there a quicker way to do this? 

I looked around for a solution but to no avail. Changing the config.pro pen_line_weight has no effect on my drawings. I tried using a pen table but did not get the results I was looking for. Using the pen table (I think) means that all geometry lines printed with pen 1 will all have the same line thickness. This means that, not only geometry lines but drawing border lines will be the same thickness... which I don't want. PTC TPI 117022 suggests changing the line weight config.pro option which will not overwrite user-defined thickness. I have made sure that I have no table.prt files, the option to use pen tables is removed from config.pro and the option to use pen tables for PDF is removed. Lines that have user-defined thickness print with correct weight but no matter what number I put in to the pen 1 and pen 2 options, geometry and dimension lines are not affected (too thick and too thin respectively). Currently using Creo2.0 m50. What am I missing?   Thanks all.

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) 8.0 8.0.0.0Our config.pro has view_scale_format ratio_colon (1:1) which does not seem to be mapping across correctlyIn Prepare>Drawing Options>Detail Options> view_scale_format is default to decimal* (1.000)However, '&scale' displays a fraction (1/1)Has anyone faced something similar to this? We can manually work around changing the view_scale_format manually every time, but would like this to happen from the config.pro file as expected.   Thanks in advance

I am using Creo Parametric - Release 7.0 (connected) 7.0 7.0.3.0I have a round part with a "flow channel" that I am trying to rough out trying to pick mill. My work around is to use 4axis trajectory with full size ball endmills and axis shift tools paths.Any ideas? I have tried cutline however, Can only get the bottom of the radius pick milled.

I have a part model with PMIs and I want to put a drawing frame with model information in there like this:I would like to save the model information somewhere like in  and the information should also be exported with a JT or STEP file.How do I do this?Thanks!

I am trying to find a way to take a model (part or assembly) and use datums to orient the model based off a list of angles to get the projected (frontal) area and then save or export those values as a list. Is there a way of doing this? I have several hundred orientations to perform so I would need a way to automate.

I know that GPUs like a 3080 aren't supported in Simulation live right now - but the interaction is really stange:Initial click on Sim Live: ~5 min loading for the libarysClick on Start Simulate: 5 more minutes of loadong (1 CPU is used ~50%) then the simulation starts and is done in 3 secs - when you increase accuracy it only takes the usual time to simulate immediately (5s) and is doneAre there already fixes? I am using Creo Parametric - Release 4.0 (connected) 4.0 M140I have an assembly with two parts (X & Y) part X is used in a family table. Part Y is assembled to X using datum planes in part X that are set to rotate 180° in part X's family table members. The planes and model Y rotate 180° correctly in the assembly but the cutout created in the assembly of X & Y is not rotated in the family member (changes to part Y appear in the cutout but the defined rotation does not happen). This worked very well in previous versions and works in 4.0 IF the cutout was created in an older version. If the cutout is recreated in 4.0 it does not work. Added zip file with model example of 4.0 behavior. 

Hi,   We calculate the outline size of the model through the "ProSolidOutlineCompute" function. In the case of a cylinder, two values among the outer sizes of X, Y, and Z are the same.However, if only two values of X, Y, and Z are the same, there is an error in judging it as a cylinder.Any ideas on how to determine if a shape is circular?   Thanks , Warm Regards. Hi all, looking for some assistance.I have a need to use the name of a part in a family table, specifically in a cell of a "Reference Model" column.  The name needs to be from an instance of the part derived from this same family table.  The kicker is, family table editor allows adding the name BUT IT DOES NOT UPDATE if the instance is renamed.   The generic name at the top of the column updates as expected.  Below are the steps used to initial get the instance name into the cell.  Is there another way?  I've tried setting a parameter equal to the instance's part or assembly name and inserting the parameter in the family table cell.  This does not work, even though the value of the parameter updated correctly the family table apparently does not read the parameters value only the text of the parameters name.  Tried using PTC's parameter names for parts, assemblies and common names to no avail.  F.Y.I. I recently installed Creo 8 Student Edition and found that my references are not being automatically updated between sketches on the same part. I have been using Creo for a few years, so I know what the normal behavior should be (Ex: edge moves that is referenced in sketch -> sketch updates to reflect new edge location). For some reason when the part geometry changes, the sketches that reference that geometry are not updating. No amount of refreshing changes this, but I can manually update references by deleting and remaking the reference, or selecting a different (equivalent) edge/axis/vertex/surface/etc. when available. Creo seems to recognize that the identity of the reference is the same, but not that it has moved. Are there any settings that I can try adjusting?Should I try reinstalling? Please let me know if you need more information.

To all,   I was wondering if there is a way to add a leader to an auto created BOM balloon on a drawing. I have a view with multiple items that are the same and cannot find how to add another attachment for the additional parts.   Also, does anyone have a custom symbol that you can have multiple balloons for the same leader. this would be good when pointing to a bolted assembly where you have a bolt/screw, washer and nut. This way you have one leader for all three, and don't need three separate balloons for each part.   One more item, is there a way to add in the quantity on the BOM balloon?   Dennis

I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M190   Sketch's DOT line style it looks straight on the screen, and you have to enlarge it to see it in DOT shape. I just installed Creo 8.0.2. I have  "Display shaded datum plane"  selected and the config.pro option  "3D_datum_display_fill"  set to yes, but my datums aren't shaded. Anyone have any idea what I'm missing?
