Hi all,Creo 4, M050 In my ModelTree configuration, I don't have any extra columns selected to be shown in the ModelTree. If I open an assembly and select a Simplified Representation to be applied to my assembly, there is automatically an extra column created in my ModelTree that shows the Simpl Reps of all assembly components (if any).If I then open a subassembly, the ModelTree also has this extra column.I find this annoying and would like to turn this 'feature' off if possible. Is there an option that I can set so that no extra columns are created in the ModelTree? There is not a tree.cfg file on my entire desktop that has specified to add an extra column. Screenshots show ModelTree and its column settings after and before I open a Simpl Rep in the assembly.
It looks like Creo saves a new version of our part and assembly files every time we save in CREO , what is the fastest and easiest way to delete older versions and only keep the latest version ? We have some large Robot assemblies with many components and would like to know if there is an easy way to do this on all the components at one time ?This thread is inactive and closed by the PTC Community Management Team. I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M010I have a round tube I extrudeded. I did a extrude from a plane to cut a half moon out of the side of the tube. I saved that tube as a copy and changed extrude ones length, now extrude has rebuild errors and I am not sure why. I deletted the extrusion and tryied to recreate and I am unable to get a extrusion to work. Here are the errors that I facedfeature regeneration failed

I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M110Is it possible to create a midplane GD&T datum in MBD? I cannot figure out a combination that will allow me to select the middle plane as a datum.
I am using Creo Parametric 7.0 7.0.4.0When creating a new part (.prt) with Creo parametric, I would like to assign a parameter named "CREATED_BY" with the current user logged into Windchill (peaple log into Windchill when launching Creo Parametric).I know the PTC_WM_CREATED_BY (and PTC_WM_MODIFIED_BY, etc.) are recorded into the .prt when pushed into Windchill.I would like to access the value stored into PTC_WM_CREATED_BY immediatly when a new part (.prt) is created.Like this I can search into it and fetch first letters of name and surname from the email like : john.do@organization.com becomes --> jdoCurrently, our default .prt template has this relations :CREATED_BY=EXTRACT(PTC_WM_CREATED_BY,SEARCH(PTC_WM_CREATED_BY,"(")+1,1)+EXTRACT(PTC_WM_CREATED_BY,SEARCH(PTC_WM_CREATED_BY,".")+1,2)It work but only after saving AND pushing into Windchill, refreshing and save it again into Windchill (which is not very convignient).Overall, I want a way to access the username when user has logged
Is there a parameter to show what the model units are? For example: On a drawing I want to show the model mass so I use &PRO_MP_MASS[.2]. But I want to be able to show the units of the reported mass. I feel like there should be a parameter that is something like "&PTC_MASS_UNITS" or "&MODEL_MASS_UNITS", but I haven't been able to find anything.
Hi, i'll like to know if there's a way to import an IFC file in CREO 4 or CREO 5, in internet i found a lot information to do it the other way around, but not this way. Best Regards

I am using Creo Parametric 8.0 8.0.0.0Actually Using Creo 8.0.1.0 - Normally, when spinning a model the spin centre latches to a face/edge/etc.. of the model under the current cursor position.I've noticed that when the new 'filled plane display' is switched on and there is a plane in front of the model, the spin centre latches onto the plane instead on the model - even if the model edge/surface/etc. itself is highlighted.Switching the filled plane display off stops this happening. Is this intentional? Is it possible to stop this with some configuration option.
Using Creo 5.0.4 - New user I have a section view that is a partial view (not to be confused with a partial section view). I want to balloon the items shown on this view for clarification. These items are already ballooned in other full views. My limited understanding of Creo is these have to be a reference balloon (with the word "ref" underneath). Creating them was a challenge. I could not create them following the instructions given in Creo Parametric Help Center (ptc.com). I selected a component then nothing would happen, regardless if I picked the Reference Balloon button before or after my selection. Tried right clicking, tried left clicking, tried middle mouse button, tried hitting enter. (I rarely know which button I should be hitting half the time). I ended up creating the reference balloons in another view (I don't know how as I cannot repeat the process) and manually moving them to the section view. Adding 3 balloon
As you may know the middle mouse button is for rotating and dragging the part.Sadly I can't work with Creo at all at times since I have a hardware problem with my middle mouse button.Where can you remap it to a different button?
Hi and season greetings.Straight to the point. I am able to acquire a faceted feature with protoolkit but I wonder whether I can get the facets by selecting a portion of the mesh. If I go into the editing phase and select some faces then I can't get the facets in the buffer when I select some facets. The ideal is the selector to return a faceted subset of the original mesh but it seems that it is not doing this or am I wrong. Also is it a way to insert a point cloud and work with it apart from inserting it as geometry and then suffer from the slow response time?Regards.

Hello All, I am trying to get layer status of drawing layers using "ProLayerDisplaystatusGet".As per my understanding, drawing includes model layers which can separately show/hide in drawing along with it's own layers. I am not able to find the status of layers inside the drawing which comes from model.please refer below snap for reference. I found another API (ProDwgLayerDisplaystatusGet) which takes view as input. but I wants to check the status of layers which corresponds to drawing(TOP MODEL). If I have wrong concept on layer then please correct me. Thanks for the help. Regards,Harsh Patel
I want to automatically set all components in an assembly named with a certain prefix to "REF" for QTY on a drawing BOM. In the drawing BOM repeat region, is there a way to extract the first part of a part's DESCRIPTION parameter value and use it to change its entry in the QTY column? Here is the PTC command line I am using to extract: extract(string, position, length) For example:If param = abcdef, then parameter new will be set to equal bcd by this line: new = extract(param,2,3) Here are the code I am using currently, it doesn't give an error, but it doesn't change the QTY column to "REF" like I need it to:QTY1=rpt_qtyMEM_PRE=extract(asm_mbr_description,1,4)IF MEM_PRE=="mem-"QTY1="REF"ELSEQTY1=rpt_qtyENDIF Thanks in advance!
Is it possible to populate the radius along with X, Y, Z coordinates when creating a tube from the Pipe command in a 2D drawing using Hole Tables? Also, I've included a table created in Catia or NX (see attached: piping table) and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction and let me know if Creo is capable of producing something similar. I am using Creo 7.
I want to use a line from copied geometry as a connection in assembly but can't because it's considered an assembly item and not a component item.
I am using Creo Parametric 8.0 8.0.2.0I need to create a drawing with two sheets, the first sheet with dimensions in millimeters and the second sheet with dimensions in fractional inches. It's possible?
Applicable Releases: Creo Parametric 1.0 to 8.0 Description: In this video, we will be using "Active Layer Object Selection" option to: Control the display of features or datums in a drawing view Control display of items in layers on specific drawing view Hide/Unhide the features added in layer in specific drawing views
