Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello All,   We have a PTC service contract where we can upgrade to the latest Creo version.  We were quite behind on this so we jumped from Creo 3.0 to 6.0.  One thing that we have noticed is that we lost access to the Merge/Inheritance feature when we moved to Creo 6.0.  I am not our administrator and that person recently left the company.  My understanding is that the Merge/Inheritance feature is only available with the Creo Design Advanced license tier.  We are running Creo Design Essentials (T1).    If we had Merge/Inheritance with Creo 3 under the same license contract, why did it go away when we moved to Creo 6.0.  Did the creo package tiers exist with Creo 3.0?  Did our company drop our tier level down on the last license renewal?

Hello, Do you know how to get model ID in an assembly.I tried ProMdlIdGet but it gives me the ID of the model part  separated from the assembly. And when the model part has the same name but not the same placement, it always gives me the same ID.Well, how to get those feat ID in the picture?I have the assembly model, the list of part model, the ProAsmcomppath. Thank you very much. @MichelH @YaroslavSin @rghadge

I am using Creo Parametric 8.0 8.0.2.0When trying to delete a pattern and all components in the pattern (not the delete pattern function that leaves the first item in the pattern) Creo freezes and I have to end task it. Hello everyone. I have an issue: Two pipes with straight edges (i.e. not prepared edges) are connected to each other. By using the Weld Wizard I create preparation with the following parameters: 2 mm root opening, 2.5 mm depth and bevel angle of 35°. Everything works well except that the weld being created as a surface. When I choose "Solid" in "Weld geometry type" Regeneration failure message pops up. How do I get Solid weld type?I will appreciate some help in solving this issue.  Best,Sergey

Hello, I'm not able to set LineStock Parameter with multiple values. If I use the following code, the BEND_ANGLE values are NOT set, and after this call, it is not longer possible to modify the line stock values in Creo manually. Hi,I am trying to define a spare parts catalog but I encounter many difficulties ...I notice bad behavior in handling snapshots and exploded view created by the "Make snapshot available in drawings" command. I'll explain:- I create my snapshot and make it available in the drawings, the program creates a corresponding exploded state.- I modify my exploded state by spacing components and adding explode lines.So far so good.The problem arises if I then need to modify the snapshot, if I update it, the program resets the exploded state !!! Frustrating ...Is there any procedure to avoid having to redo all the work from scratch?Thank youP.S. i use Cro 2.0 M250 and Creo 8.0

Dear Community,inside OTK Java free I am registering another JLink application using BaseSession::StartJLinkApplication. This works fine. JLinkApplication::IsActive returns true and I can see the registered app in Creo (4.0). Furthermore I can register a task by using BaseSession::RegisterTask. But if I want to excecute the task (JLinkApplication::ExecuteTask) with the same TaskId that I used for registering the task I get a XToolkitNotFound exception. If I want to register another task with the same TaskId I get a XJLinkTaskExists exception.I do not understand why! I also do not understand why I have to register a task on the BaseSession object but execute it on the JLinkApplication object. Could anybody help? Thank you and kind regardsMichael

Hi Guys. We have about 20 plus years of UDFs with family tables in them for all of our drilled water line holes, and drilled features.  They were all made originally with a 59 degree drill tip angle. I want to change to 70 degree (140 total) on these...but not have to redo 20 plus years of UDFs and family tables. I added in the config.pro this line:drilled_hole_tip_angle 140 This works great when using the hole creation feature with in Creo 7 (making new) But i want to use my udfs with family tables....that has a lot of standardized depths, and sizes for certain fittings and such already defined.  I cannot seem to modify the udf, and add in drill tip angle into my family table.  Anyone care to take a quick look at this? attached is one of the many UDFs i want to modify.Jay

Below is my .pcf file.Plotter was on network “...”Plotter called “...” plotter postscriptbutton_help Print C sized ANSI to Ricohplotter_command windows_print_manager “...”delete_after_plotting yespen_table_file “...”paper_size Cplot_label NO plot_stroke_text YES  Now we are pointing directly to the printer on some older windows 7 computer.printer address is: “...”printer is called “...” What should my .pcf file look like. I cannot seem to get anything to print. I tried editing the above .pcd file and just calling out the printer name with no luck. plotter_command windows_print_manager “...”also tried:plotter_command windows_print_manager “...” Do i need to change the plotter call out to something other than postscript? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Plotter prints fine in other software on these older windows 7 computers. My end goal is to bring parts into Autodesk moldflow, have surface splits exactly where my gate location is. This will allow Moldflow to populate a node exactly where I want it, allowing me to create a beam off that node and create my gate in the precise location. Solidworks has a feature called "Split Line" that allows you to use sketch entities to split a surface, or face of a solid body, into separate surfaces and/or faces. A lot of the posts I've seen pertain more towards having the ability to change the color of the faces/surfaces. In my search I found the following solution: "1. Copy and paste the surface you want to split. 2. Trim the surface the way you want it. 3. Apply a warp to the surface. Don't make any actual changes to it; just apply a warp feature and hit green checkbox. 4. Solidify it. It will now show up as a separate surface that you can paint in a separate color." I tried this but it does not split every surface, and with the few parts I've tried

Hi, Does anyone use a test automation tool or framework for automating Creo Parametric manual test cases?Creo buttons are not recognized in tools\framework like selenium, work-soft, etc... If anyone using any tools to automate the manual test steps please share.Any windows application automation tool which suits Creo parametric? Obviously, the preference will be for free tools. If it's paid also can think of it.We can use a trail file for some kind of automation but it's not suitable for my use case.    Thanks,Suresh

Does anyone know if you can import an image into Creo then use that image to create a piece of sheet metal with that shape. Below is the image I want to import and turn into a piece of sheetmetal. After using the weld module to create welds i have run into a problem. When showing the respective symbol on the drawing the tail is populated by the weld order. I don´t seem to be able to change the order manually and more importantly i can´t remove it completely. Anyone know of a solution ? As it is now i have to add the symbols manually as i can´t get rid of the ordering.

Hi,Can some one help me how do you extrude a scale on a cylindrical part with the numbers from 1 to 10 the easiest way. The only option i have found so far is making a lot of planes and extrude the numbers individual. I am seeking a smarter way to do it, because i need to do it with many more numbers

I know there is a procedure to make it somewhere buried in document. However, how to find this HELP is also not a simple task.  Is any kind of this problem need one day to solve? In SolidWorks, pertinent Helps are available at one click, not like in CREO, in which I have to be well educated before I can type in the correct keywords to find a Help.

Hello,   looking for a reverse Engineering Software for 3D scans I found the reverse Engineering Extension for Creo. I use Creo 2.0 as my CAD software, so this is very interesting for me. I want to 3D scan objects and then edit them parametrically in Creo. Unfortuantely I couldn´t find much information about how REX works, what it does and so on. I tried to contact the sales team via the contact form (in Germany btw), but they don`t answer me for almost three weeks and there is no phone number or e-mail adress on the website. So does anyone of you have experience with this extension and can tell me a little bit about it? Can it automatically detect surfaces, cylinders, radii etc.? If yes, how good does the detection work for 3D Scans (with a professional scanner)? Does it create a history tree just like in a normal parametric file? So is it feature-based?   Can someone maybe even compare it to a reverse Engineering software like Geomagic design X?   Thanks, Patrick
