Hi, I have Logitech MX Master 3 mouse which in addition to 3 standard buttons (2 clicks and scroll) also has 3 macro buttons and roller (the other scroll). I'd like to assign these hotkeys to specific Creo features but the most important for me is to assign particular hotkey to the Creo "Windows" feature (in order to navigate between Creo tabs by mouse click). Is it possible to achieve this in Creo Parametric 6.0? Thank you in advance for each answer!
Hello, I am trying to document an existing oil tank in Creo to manufacture a new on with some modifications. The existing tank is fabricated from two pieces of aluminum welded together with no compound curves. Neither piece is stretched or shrunk, they just have equal perimeters and are welded together. I templated the existing tank surfaces manually (posterboard), scanned them, and traced them in 2-d cad to generate the shapes of the existing tank. I built one with posterboard, and it works as far as replicating the existing tank. To make the new tank I want to have Creo models for visualization and fabrication. What is the easiest way to attack this in Creo? I have never started with a flat part and worked into a formed part, always the other way around. I have roughly solid modeled the part and converted to sheet metal (shell, .050" thick), but it does not like it when I try to flatten it. All of my sheet metal design has been straight
Hello all, Thanks for looking into my problem. I noted this while working with flange. Image "1" is a simple planar and then i created a flange(refer to image "2"), which is a flange wall. Then when i add another flange to both the walls (refer to image "3"), the flanges are connecting in some area. I've marked that area in black. I cannot remove it using miter tab and the edge treatment tab is greyed out. Please help me out Thanks in advance
Hello; I'm trying to insert a flow chart that didn't come in when imported a dxf into a Creo drawing. If I try object, create from file, I get just Ole Ebbedded over a small rectangle that says FlowChart-NC.bmp. I think the answer is through the object create new, but then I'm not sure how to create the flow chart image on the spot. Anyway any help is greatly appreciated, in that I'm a SolidWorks user, just trying for the end game of out putting a CGM file. Thanks, in advance for any input. Rob_D
Hello! Maybe someone have experience in customizing ISO welding symbols from PTC? I mean symbols with better look and more close to current standards. With minor changes, for example. I'm not expert in ISO weld and not need to use this type of weld in permanent basis. But will be glad to see what other have in this area. Any body can share ISO welding symbols for Creo Welding application? or Images to understand what kind of customization is possible.
Per the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard Figure 3-4 (see below) a datum feature can be attached to a midplane. All my attempts only allow a Datum Feature to be linked to a surface. I can add additional references, and include the plane, but ideally, the datum feature would only be linked to a plane. Is it possible to do this in Creo 7.0?
Hello everyone Could someone confirm me that the units used to describe SRS function are the units of the model (i.e. mm, gram, sec) ? Thank you
Post Mold Analysis threads here.
Conversations about Mold Analysis should be posted here.
To all, I want to do an analysis with symmetry. I have a solid model with the 2 DTMs for the symmetry. What is the best way of “splitting” the model to have the faces required to apply the symmetry conditions? to start with I simply did a ‘Extrude feature/Remove material’ thus ending up with a cut model with the faces needed Is this the only way to do it? Thanks
Hello All, I would like to create automation of fasteners and bolts according to holes IFX still not search a holes automatically we need to select each axis or plane. IFX customization is not possible ,but i am thinking with the use of VBi scripts the things we can handle so that through a specific UDF goal can be achievable. or anyone help me to develop IFX type of script , can we change the user interface of IFX . Can you share your VBi scripts or knowledge to develop that UDF.
Anyone have an example of a restricted values file with units? I have tried formatting my file using the <quantity type> and <units> as shown in https://support.ptc.com/help/archive/creo40/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/fundamentals%2Ffundamentals%2Ffund_seven_sub%2FSyntax_for_Creating_a_Restriction_Defi_File.html%23. I'm still on Creo 2, so maybe it is not supported.
Dear all, I meet with a terrible problem with opening files in Creo Parametric. When I create a part or assembly on one computer and synchronized it to another computer with Onedrive. The file of the part couldn't be seen in Creo open file window. If I copy these files to another address in the system. The files will appear in Creo. However, this is not applicable to deal with many files. I'd like to ask if there's any solution to this problem. Thanks for your time. Kind Regards SZ
I, I'm having problems while open some parts, that wer drawn in context of an assembly. When I open the master assembly it runs ok. But when I open the isolated part, there is a lot of features that fails, after regeneration task. The ones that fails are some reference patterns, and features that have been created in context of the master assembly. I think it fails, because they aren't loaded. But I need to send this file (only this file) to a collegue, and I need him to open it, and do some work on it. How can i do it, without any problem with regeneration? Any config option? See video.
Hello, I am writing to ask you how to handle the following situation: We created the suspension assembly of the car using the structure of the moving skeletons (there is a first skeleton, which Creo calls "Design Skel" which contains all the references and then a series of other skeletons, which Creo calls "Body Skel" , which represent all bodies with their kinematic constraints). (see image 1)The suspension components are then rigidly mounted on the relative skeleton (e.g. the hub carrier assembly was assembled with the skeleton references C9TR_02_01_LH_HUB_CARRIER_SKEL.PRT). To govern the movement of the assembly we use the stroke of the shock absorber, defined as a parameter (for the front suspension we also have the translation of the steering rack). (see image 2) The parameters are used to modify the length of the shock absorber and thus to realize the movement of the assembly. (see image 3) The problem with this solution is that we do not know how to "animate" the parameters, or
Everything we have done all our existence has been in mm's. Because Dual Dimensioning doesn't know how to work correctly if you start with mm, I'm at a loss as to how to get a new drawing template that is in Inches. Some of it is that I have not created drawing templates in years and when I try to create a blank drawing to start my template, it wants to put all of my parameters as drawing parameters since there is no model to reference. I guess it is two questions.... 1. How do I create a template that has a border that keeps the parameters? 2. How do I create a template that is now in inches when everything else is mm? This is all because of needing to do dual dimensioning with mm and inches where the inches are in fractions and mm are decimals. Per PTC support, only way to do this is if inches is the primary and mm are secondary.
Every time I make an explode line it is a coin flip whether it goes wonky or not. Even with the same pick points from drawing to drawing. I would like to know if this is a bug or am I doing something wrong. I am trying to make them go up, over and then up again. There are 4 spots where kep nuts are located to slots on the part. I have picked axis to axis, axis to surface and surface to surface and tried several different spots for when I pick. Sometimes I get 2 lines that are correct, other times I get only one correct line and more often than not they are all screwy. What I have been doing is once I put in the explode line, I got to a side view and edit the line and add jog sections and adjust it as needed. It is a major pain.
How do I go about importing copper artwork into Pro-E? I am using Cadence Allegro for board layout. I can easily open the board file in Creo View, but I can't figure out how to add the copper in our 3D model. I've seen the youtube video and it seems pretty straightforward, but the only way I've been able to create a .eda file is using Creo View. I can't get it to export anything other than vias. There must be some other way. Please don't tell me to use a dxf. Thanks
Hello all. I'm trying to have my own environnement in Creo .... (I hate the dark font color !) I know, it simple, you need to register it and save the syscol in your config.pro. Problem is that my company don't allow it : every time i start Creo, it suppress the old config.pro and replace it by the standart one. So I try to creat a batch who execute my company batch and then replace the syscol.scl. To do it, i created a trail who made that task Unfortunatly, each time i start by batch, he never execute my trail. What i'm doing wrong ? Maybe there is a simpliest way to do it ? What's inside my batch : @echo offH:\proc_sh\cae\start_creo5.bat "P:\Couleur.txa" %*
I converted an " electronics print" assembly into a single part by exporting as IGS and importing again. For some reason random holes are now filled when viewed from the top side of the print, while they are hollow when looking at the bottom surface of the print. I cant select the filled surface on the holes and I cant remove them by cutting the holes in solid as well as trying a surface cut. Exporting to STP and importing does not make a difference. Any ideas how to fix this?
Hello,I am having issues with adding a dimension text in the drawing. After adding a dimension in the drawing, when I am trying to add a text to the dimension with the 'dimension text' option - the dialog box doesn't come up and I am not able to add the text.On the other had, even without the dialog box, if I type something and hit enter, it gets added to the dimension.Anyone faced such an issue and know a solution to get the dialog box up?Thank you in advance!!
Is there a way to see in which assembly’s a part is being used?I have creo parametric 2.0. I don’t seem to have PDM link what is explained in the question of Mike Minsterketter.
I will post here my first nice exercise with Creo Parametric. The shape idea is the one presented in this paper. https://camo.ici.ro/journal/vol13/v13a7.pdf In this paper there is a very nice image: I have taken the liberty to re-create this figure with this output, though I have still some issues which I am trying to solve. My approach is doing it in an OOP fashion so I am using C++ wrapping things in classes. Here is a video of my process so far. Not bad but I seek perfection in my creations so its not quite there yet. For this specific work I am allowed to publish the code. So I will do it when its ready under an MIT license, meaning I will allow companies to use my code for free without restrictions. Yes this code they can use. (view in My Videos) Here is a YouTube Link also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dauS2asHR8o&feature=youtu.be Regards, Dr. Alexander Agathos.
Dear machining expert, please check the attached video. I am facing a surface finishing issue between the nontangential curve. please advise already use G5.1 Q1 R10 but no change. Regards Asif
see these videos both videos shown surface machining on same surface one is from power mill other is from creo parametric...in creo machining there is some motion pause during one patch to other patch of surface ..but in power mill no pause continue machining ..why this is happening...is it software capabilities issue or i am some thing missing..please advise.. fisa(view in My Videos)(view in My Videos)
