I have a large bus model that needs to be used for a skeleton model for an assembly.  I don't need the entire bus structure.  I just need a skeleton of the driver's area.   The model includes numerous components with solids, quilts and surfaces. I am having a great deal of trouble trying to work with the geometry because all the different geometry types. Here is my method for trying to simplify the geometry. Load step file as assembly Create simplified rep with selection box around drivers area and exclude components not in box. Create an assembly cut of the driver area to create section of the area I am interested in. Attempt to create shrink wrap. The problem with this method is that the simplified rep includes large section of structure as a single component and the assembly cut only makes cuts to solid geometry. Quilts and surfaces are left alone.  I have tried to trim back the surfaces however this involves trimming each individual surface that crosses m

See attachment. I have some surface copies that I need to be able to make independent to break the dependencies so that I can check the files into windchill.   I don't care if the surfaces get frozen and aren't linked to anything anymore.

Hi All, I am using Creo 4.0 and ProToolkit for customization.In creo we have an option "Move to sheet" in the layout->edit Tab to  move a selected view from one sheet to another sheet. I want to do that using Protoolkit. I didn't find any API to do so. Can someone give me a solution to move a view from sheet to sheet.   Thanks in advance..

Hello all, I'm looking for an application that will add datum axis for all the holes in a part generated via importing neutral files. We use these parts for programming (Pro/NC) - mostly plates with lots of holes on all faces. We have a large library of UDFS built for native Pro/E files and they ask for axis selection, therefore it would save a lot of time to prepare these parts and add all the axis before working on the manufacturing file. I've had a look through quite a few historical posts on this but can't find one with a definitive answer.   Specifically within a note, I am aware you can add a 'Basic' dim box by using the @[  and @] either side of the text to surround it in a box.   Is there an equivalent way of doing this in a note with the Inspection box/obround (a box with rounded corners)?

Hello all! Trying to change the name of the dialog box. To display the window I use the UIShowMessageDialog method. If its second parameter is null, then the window name is "Info". I use MessageDialogOptions.SetDialogLabel to set my value. Implemented the interface, and its void method is SetDialogLabel. I have an assembly, part number 14869805 which is the machined level for my castings/weldment.  The castings/weldment are in the subassembly 14869802 level.  I have three parts that are casted and welded, these are parts 94408108-01, 02, 03 which are shown in 14869802.  In these parts I have the machining done but have it suppressed as I was thinking there could be a way to show this on the top level machining 14869805 without doing assembly cuts and also making sure the weight changes from the casting/weldment to the machining correctly.  Any ideas how this can be done?  Do I need to move my machining cuts from the part level?    

In the PTC documentation for bulk items, they use a relation to build a value with the area of a selected surface (https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/usascii/index.html#page/assembly%2Fasm%2Fasm_four_sub%2FTo_Define_Bulk_Model_Properties.html%23). The question is, that within Creo, the units for this process seems to be a 2d area (sq inch). However, when people buy or apply bulk items (like paint), they buy and measure in volume (cubic inch, gallons, etc.). What do other people end up doing for the BOM when dealing with Bulk Items and units?  

Hello, Kind of need information on auto coloring in creo parametric, Now consider I'm dealing with a large number of cables or wires in creo parametric. And I need to assign different colors for each cable. Rendering colors to each cable kills my time. I have an Excel sheet which states the variation of colors for different cables. Now 1) Can I make Autocoloring using the Excel sheet (maybe using that sheet  in XML format) 2) Does pro-e programming help me on this?   Thank you. Delete      

  I am trying to analysis this castor model. The way the outer layer designed only create a single point contact with ground (the grey piece). When I try to analyze the load and displacement, it always stopped with fetal error. I guess this is due to the under constraint. Any idea how to set the constraint in this case?        

The questions like in topic.On Jan 01 of 2016 my last Student License was finished  - it was M040 64 bit( if I remember well) installed on the WIN 8,1 which was transfered to WIN 10 during  the license period.Now I have downloaded  the new zip file with M060 64 bit, and it was extracted properly. It is all what I could do. I tried to install license for two hours and still got an error message.In the end I run with succses setup-schools file. Now I have installed Educational Version.Am I right and not in conflict with the licence agreement, and with the PTC student account conditions ?What are my limitations in Educational Version ?Will I be able to return to the Student License ?Thanks in advance for answering my questions.RegardsLudwika

Hi All, I need to place a symbol below the dimension text inline with a vertical dimension.so i need to create a gap between dimension text and leader line so that the leader line will not coincide with the symbol.In creo by pressing enter after @D in dimension text, a gap is created.i tried to do the same using toolkit. using ProDimensionTextWstringsSet. The Dimension text was updated with enter in dimension text box but space is not created in the drawing.I tried sheetRegenerate and DrawingRegenerate.but its not working. if anyone has a solution or know anyother way to create gap, please help.   Thanks in advance..

Hi,   I have an assembly that contains aluminium-Profiles. If the profiles exceed a length of (lets say 1500mm) then other profiles have to be added to the assembly to increase stability.   So maybe something like that is possible:   if(length of dimension  > 1500)   then add/ the profiles/parts to reinforce the construction     How can something like that be done ?   Thanks, Maik
