Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Version: Creo Parametric 10.0.4.0 I am trying to use the updated Manikin models.  When I try to move the manikin model Creo requires that I have access to some of the sub-models.   This makes using the manikin models more challenging.  I can move the manikin model around, but if I try to edit a joint, then manikin requires access to the lower level assemblies.   If all the models are read only, I can't continue.   The manikin model should need to write access to these lower level assemblies. (view in My Videos)  

Hi communityI drawing  2 part:shaftHubI want to linked it with gear teeth  (involute profile)i drawing involute on shaft and hub with the same parameter when i assembly shaft and hub  i find low profile decal.  in the hub, i use a simple function for cut teeth profile in the shaft, i use un sweep function perhaps this decal come from sweep ?i am sure of my involute anyone have an idea ?

Primary Goal:To export specification-driven piping and piping components that were modeled in Creo 8.0.3.0 as a Piping Configuration File (PCF) that can be opened and modified in a pipe-stress analysis software (AutoPIPE, v 23.00.00.230). Methodology:Piping is modeled as Spec-Driven per Creo Guidance and YouTube Tutorials, and pipe components are similarly modeled per Creo Guidance and YouTube Tutorials. To export Creo model as PCF, Creo guidance is again followed. This process has been tested and proven to be able to export complete pipeline PCFs that can be read/interpreted by AutoPIPE. Problem:The PCF export of some (but not all) pipe tees is encountering errors when following this methodology. I'm curious if the ModelCHECK Teacher function is working in current versions of Creo Parametric (8 and 9).    If so, is anyone willing to share some success stories with the tool?   I was thinking about using the Teacher function by customizing the web pages to point to internal command media and relevant training resources.   But I'm having a hard time even confirming the tool is working in the stock configuration.  Its possible we have an option miss configured.   https://support.ptc.com/help/creo/creo_pma/r10.0/usascii/index.html#page/model_analysis/modelcheck/add_info.html#   If I click on the error notification, ModelCheck appears to try to open an information pane, but its just a blank box with an "X"   Best Regards, Nick

Can anyone help me convert an .STL file into solid geometry in Creo?

When importing a sketch in the extrude process, the center of the sketch is always in any other point than the center of the sketch -- not even on the middle line of the sketch.In this example I wanted the center where the red dot is, but I could not drag it there, or change its position in any way. Is there a possibility to edit the original sketch and make the center be in the very middle of the sketch by some procedure?Or is it something that can be done here, in the extrude, to move that center wherever it is needed?

Hi,I've done a relation for chose the constraint set of a component in an assembly.The relation works well with the component.The component constrained is the leader of a pattern of two items.When I change the leader constraint, the other item should modify his position simmetrically w.r.t. a central plane, so I've done a direction pattern with the dimension twice the annotation distance between the component and the plane of simmetry.When I chose the leader constrain, I have to edit the pattern feature to regenerate the position of the other item: how can I update the simmetrical position of the other item without edit the feature pattern?  Thanks in advantage.Best regards, Michele Barile

How is it possible to load a Creo Elements/Direct Modeling part or assembly into Creo Parametric, or to incorporate it into an assembly, if the part/assembly was created in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling with a large offset from the zero point in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling? What I have noticed is that when importing without preselecting a profile, the positioning fills the screen and the CAD file is displayed. (This is identical to the normal opening of the file)(view in My Videos)(view in My Videos)However, if you select a profile when importing, the CAD model is somewhere in 3D space and cannot actually be found and therefore cannot really be positioned. Hello,I have a weird freezing issue with Creo 8.0.7. I am using a notebook with a dock and when I have to disconnect and connect the notebook during the day, the Creo kind of freezes.The weird thing is that Creo works normally, but only the part, assembly or drawing window totally freezes. I cannot modify, zoom, pan, rotate - nothing.To fix the issue, I have to restart Creo. Luckily all the Creo functions works, so I have possibility to save the work. But restart the Creo with every dock reconnection is annoying.Could this be hardware (dock) issue? It is a Lenovo AF40 USB-C hybrid dock. There is no similar problems with other programs, like Autocad or Windows office programs.

During the deployment of a new computer we frequently see the user's Creo Parametric workspace cache copied from the old computer to the new computer. This typically causes the user's new installation on the new computer to crash during launch. The solution to the crash issue is to remove or rename the old cache folder. Not a huge problem. Just a nuisance that results in lost productivity. Do other companies see this issue? If so, what do you do to avoid this situation? Does anyone know why the cache can't be copied over to a new system?

I recently solved a problem I had in J-Link that could be of interest to others.I wanted to use a library as part of my J-Link program. The library is org.netbeans.swing.outline . My program uses somewhere deep down the class ETable, which has an initialization that uses a resourcebundle for localization. Specifically it sets up a field for a sting that directly loads a resource Bundle.properties.private String selectVisibleColumnsLabel = java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle("org/netbeans/swing/etable/Bundle").getString("LBL_SelectVisibleColumns"); At first this gave me an error,java.util.MissingResourceExceptionbecause it could not find the resource. The library itself loaded fine, as I have been repackaging my jar to include all libraries. (Not the best practice, but easier than adding many libraries to the protk.dat) Using Creo 8.0.8.0 and Java 11.

Hi Community! As per https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS416999 in order to be able to modify the sheetmetal parts' thickness easily after creating them, we choose to "Unlink from Part" by default (in our start part). But it seems it solved one problem while created another: The problem is that the SMT_THICKNESS parameter is not updated after altering the model thickness. Therefore extracting the material thickness is not possible now 😕Is there another parameter we can use in order to display the thickness? Thanks in advance!-Tibor

Creo harness MFG still stumps me as to why it chooses an really high bend radius when it comes to using autofan when flattening a harness in inches.  Using Creo 8.0,.11.0 Here is what I see in my graphic when i Autofan.   it looks wonderful for 2 seconds then for some strange reason it starts slapping large bend radii on to branches and flattens the small branches out!!! Anyone have a workaround for this using autofan?(view in My Videos)

Creo 10 C++ OTK  Situation is like that: I want to give the enduser possibility of select csys and highlight specific points which are refering to that csys. I can see all points attached to given csys thrugh the reference virewer. How can I achive this via API?In other words - user cliks cysy and some points (of curve) becomes highlighted 🙂 Many thanks!

Is there any way to make the operations of cosmetic lines for explode views result in a standard way?  Is there anything being done to make what should be a simple feature work correctly?Why do I not trust any community member when there are things like this being provided as solutions?https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Explode-Line-Issue/m-p/390043#M6732 It is frustrating to see that the issue I have in 2025 had been addressed in 2015, and the 'solution' to the issue was a link to a poll to try to convince PTC to care? There is ZERO options to apply to make the cosmetic line for explosion views result in any sort of expected way.  I have attached a simple look at what can be the result of adding a cosmetic line 4 times in the same way.  The result should be 4 identical lines.  It is not.  This is a simple core feature used in all of CAD work.  

All,   Have you experienced the event manager not showing information regarding failed events? This is happening randomly and is starting to occur a few times a week.   Creo Parametric 5050 Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS14   PTC only has a workaround which is to rename the event folder in their cache and restart Creo, then try previously failed process. The workaround works but we need to understand why this is happening and if this is fixed in a newer build.
