Hello,I have a weird freezing issue with Creo 8.0.7. I am using a notebook with a dock and when I have to disconnect and connect the notebook during the day, the Creo kind of freezes. The weird thing is that Creo works normally, but only the part, assembly or drawing window totally freezes. I cannot modify, zoom, pan, rotate - nothing. To fix the issue, I have to restart Creo. Luckily all the Creo functions works, so I have possibility to save the work. But restart the Creo with every dock reconnection is annoying.Could this be hardware (dock) issue? It is a Lenovo AF40 USB-C hybrid dock. There is no similar problems with other programs, like Autocad or Windows office programs.
HiAs i wasn't able to attend the event, i wonder where i can find the presentations delivered during the event ?Many thanks,
I’m excited to share that my talk abstract has been accepted for the 2025 PTC/User Summit! In my session, I hope to celebrate the amazing power of Creo, while addressing areas where it could be fixed. It will be fun and engaging as I will demo Creo. I already have my list, and wonder yours: What do you love about Creo? What do you wish they’d fix? Thank you for your help, I’ll incorporate them into my talk.
During the deployment of a new computer we frequently see the user's Creo Parametric workspace cache copied from the old computer to the new computer. This typically causes the user's new installation on the new computer to crash during launch. The solution to the crash issue is to remove or rename the old cache folder. Not a huge problem. Just a nuisance that results in lost productivity. Do other companies see this issue? If so, what do you do to avoid this situation? Does anyone know why the cache can't be copied over to a new system?
Hi there, can we se right click radial menu shortcut keys (like the solidworks) in creo? If yes can you please teach me!! RegardsMani
Creo Parametric 6.0.5.1This is my settings. Orginal .JT have colors, but exported STEP dont have 😕
I recently solved a problem I had in J-Link that could be of interest to others.I wanted to use a library as part of my J-Link program. The library is org.netbeans.swing.outline . My program uses somewhere deep down the class ETable, which has an initialization that uses a resourcebundle for localization. Specifically it sets up a field for a sting that directly loads a resource Bundle.properties.private String selectVisibleColumnsLabel = java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle("org/netbeans/swing/etable/Bundle").getString("LBL_SelectVisibleColumns"); At first this gave me an error,java.util.MissingResourceExceptionbecause it could not find the resource. The library itself loaded fine, as I have been repackaging my jar to include all libraries. (Not the best practice, but easier than adding many libraries to the protk.dat) Using Creo 8.0.8.0 and Java 11.
Hi Community! As per https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS416999 in order to be able to modify the sheetmetal parts' thickness easily after creating them, we choose to "Unlink from Part" by default (in our start part). But it seems it solved one problem while created another: The problem is that the SMT_THICKNESS parameter is not updated after altering the model thickness. Therefore extracting the material thickness is not possible now 😕Is there another parameter we can use in order to display the thickness? Thanks in advance!-Tibor
Creo Parametric 6.0.5.1 Hello,i have manage to create Mapkey script which create DXF for Flat pattern state but i have small problem. Prereqs: Copy a1_laser.drw to C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 6.0.5.1\Common Files\creo_standards\templates Add this script at end of Config.pro mapkey $F3 @MAPKEY_LABELSheetmetal_to_DXF;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Trail `MiniToolbar` `MiniToolbar` `UIT_TRANSLUCENT` `NEED_TO_CLOSE`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `main_dlg_cur` `page_View_control_btn` 1;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Select `main_dlg_cur` `View:casc340798662`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Close `main_dlg_cur` `View:casc340798662`;~ Command `ProCmdViewOrient` ;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Input `orient` `NameVw_IP` `F`;~ Input `orient` `NameVw_IP` `FR`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Input `orient` `NameVw_IP` `FRO`;~ Input `orient` `NameVw_IP` `FRON`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Input `orient` `NameVw_IP` `FRONT`;~ Update `orient` `NameVw_IP` `FRONT`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `orient` `orientsurfPH.OrientSel1`;@PAUS
Creo harness MFG still stumps me as to why it chooses an really high bend radius when it comes to using autofan when flattening a harness in inches. Using Creo 8.0,.11.0 Here is what I see in my graphic when i Autofan. it looks wonderful for 2 seconds then for some strange reason it starts slapping large bend radii on to branches and flattens the small branches out!!! Anyone have a workaround for this using autofan?(view in My Videos)
Creo 10 C++ OTK Situation is like that: I want to give the enduser possibility of select csys and highlight specific points which are refering to that csys. I can see all points attached to given csys thrugh the reference virewer. How can I achive this via API?In other words - user cliks cysy and some points (of curve) becomes highlighted 🙂 Many thanks!
Hi,did any of you has an experience with the following topic ?i searched the knowledge base and found only reference to old documentation. Many thanks,
Is there any way to make the operations of cosmetic lines for explode views result in a standard way? Is there anything being done to make what should be a simple feature work correctly? Why do I not trust any community member when there are things like this being provided as solutions?https://community.ptc.com/t5/3D-Part-Assembly-Design/Explode-Line-Issue/m-p/390043#M6732 It is frustrating to see that the issue I have in 2025 had been addressed in 2015, and the 'solution' to the issue was a link to a poll to try to convince PTC to care? There is ZERO options to apply to make the cosmetic line for explosion views result in any sort of expected way. I have attached a simple look at what can be the result of adding a cosmetic line 4 times in the same way. The result should be 4 identical lines. It is not. This is a simple core feature used in all of CAD work.
All, Have you experienced the event manager not showing information regarding failed events? This is happening randomly and is starting to occur a few times a week. Creo Parametric 5050 Windchill 11.0 M030 CPS14 PTC only has a workaround which is to rename the event folder in their cache and restart Creo, then try previously failed process. The workaround works but we need to understand why this is happening and if this is fixed in a newer build.
Hello All, Hope all is well; I need to know how to calculate the Rope wires core and strands wires dia the outer dia is .0195" I have attached the picture for references. With Best Regards, Adnan
Hello Team, I am facing drawing layer issue in my drawing. i have hidden all the layers and isolate drawing display layers but when i try to save status, doesn't allow me and asking to check out the loverlevel assembly which is released. the lower-level components are released, and layers are not hidden for axis.can we control those layers in Creo drawing layers?
Hi What parameter in config.pro specifies the template folder path for Creo Simulate?Default Result Windows Templates Thank you all in advance.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM0701. User set correct config.pro file and chose the correct font path2. User config correct in drawing properties and set the font type3. then reopen the drawing propertiers setting, it rollback to default setting.Could you assist me to investigate it? user`s font couldln`t be set correctly
Hi all, my cosmetic threads in my drawings are displaying through the part on a section view. How can I get it to where the vertical lines are not showing?
Hey guys, i am using PTC Creo Parametric 7.0 (Student Edition) I created a thread on a pin. Unfortunately, it does not really show the outlines (actually the inner lines) of the thread: My visibility option is on "only show visible edges / lines"If I select "show also not visible edges / lines", creo will show the whole thread but also everything else, which is not good for me. Can somebody help me with this problem? Greetings, Spedex
Hi Every one,I am new to Creosim.I am trying to simplify a connection using combination of spring idealisation and contact interface. Two separate parts are assembled with these connections in parallel. When the connection is under compression, we have contact and spring is compressed. When the connection is under tension the contact is released and there is no force for the spring.1. I am not sure if is it possible to have contact between spring end and second part ? Ifound for the contact we need a surface, so do I need to define a surface between spring and second part or it is possible to have contact interface between a point and a body?Because of number of conections I am looking for a quick and easy method. Only I am looking for the force at connection when it is under compression.Any help is appreciated.
Creo 8.0.11 Hi folks, 👇here, my headache... I want to have a fine mesh in a region of this column because I need to insert it into a bigger assembly for a Contact Analysis. I know that "mapped meah" isn't that kind of mesh control that is passed to higher assembly level, but I want to test here to already know how to mesh it in the higher assembly. But I don't know why I can't mesh properly. I also tried to mesh in this manner. It works for the external elements, but I can't be able to make the wedge inside. Do you have any suggestion?
Hi,I've tried to replace the Ground Springs with simple ones in order to can run also a Large Deformation Analysis. It fails...but I don't know why...
When importing emn files directly in Creo Parametric, is it possible to set the default import of emn files to Assembly mode instead of Part mode? According to PTC eSupport article - CS398256, It's not part of Creo Parametric functionality. Now I recommend that PTC improve in future Creo releases.
(Using Creo 8.0.9.0) I'm fairly new to Creo (under 2 years of experience with 5+ yrs of other CAD software experience prior) and I am looking for some advice on best practices for using layers in Creo drawings. I've previously struggled with layers when trying to make some skeletons visible in drawings but not others (similar to how you could hide features in the model tree in an assembly or part). The goal is to have the one particular skeleton visible in the drawing but hidden in the model (while other skeletons are hidden). This is the way it has been done previously at my company with large assemblies that contain multiple skeletons. Most of these situations end with frustration because hiding or showing a layer does not work to hide or show the feature contained within the layer. I realize I could just create a simplified rep for each view, but I would like to figure out layers for consistency with other company files (I'd also like to learn how to use layers in general!
