Hello, I'm having some trouble understanding which programming tools for Creo Parametric are free and which require licensing. When I open the "ReadMe.txt" file in the otk_java_free folder in my Creo Parametric installation, the is a note about downloading the user guide: --otk_java_free User's Guide-------------------Please refer to the PTC Creo Object TOOLKIT Java User's Guide.The User's Guide is available in a PDF format. This file is located at:<creo_loadpoint>/Common Files/otk_java_doc/otk_javaug.pdf-- When I open that document, the title is "Creo Object TOOLKIT Java" user guide and it includes a big section about licensing and needing a Creo Object Toolkit license. When I try to load the sample "InstallTest" sample I get an error trying to load it. I do NOT have a OTK Toolkit license but I do have a Creo Parametric License. Can anyone explain is this sample SHOULD be able to run on my system and maybe point me to a resource to get it running? I have

The Creo Parametric config options for Web.Link confuse me a bit. This support article gives the recommended settings for Web.Link: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS156638. Before reading this article I was only aware of the web_enable_javascript options, so that is all I enabled.  Which means my config looks like this: Funny enough, everything with Web.Link works fine. I can read files from my local file system, manipulate and read data in my Creo session, etc. But according to the config options, this should be disabled. So what do the web_link_read/write options actually do? Anyone got an idea? 

What is the best method to label a fiber when using the "Extend across sheets?" Is there a way to define locations such as sheet# and grid location (ex. SHT 1 C-7)? I see the parameter <sheets>, but I don't want to list the local sheet.

Hi, We use Windchill and Creo 9 (will soon be upgrading to Creo 10. We also use Windchill for document management. In Windchill, each product has three main folders CAD, Promotion requests and Documents.When creating a Workspace the Context is set to the product root in Windchill and so is the Part Target Foler and CAD Document Target Folder. I know that I can manually go in and change the Part and CAD document target folder to the Windchill CAD folder. However, is there a way to, in the config.pro for example, to set the CAD folder by default, so that all are not directed to the root by default? Also that it will use the current context, since the context will change depending on the product/workspace.

how to figure out whether the javaAPP is running before StartJLinkApplication？I want to execute the task registered in javaApp.I use  jlink to StartJLinkApplication ,but I dont know whether the app is running .If running will get error such asXToolkitInUseThen can not get the handle of JLinkApplication. All,Today when selecting a feature/geometry in ModelCheck report the geometry is highlighted.is it possible to change the behavior to perform "Select" ( so the feature will be selected rather than highlighted ) ?Many thanks,  

We are using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.0.0 How can we get the `ProMdl` handle of an embedded part (the part itself, not of the part occurrence) using the Pro/Toolkit API? I know that we can get the `ProMdl` handle of the part occurrence in the assembly via the assembly `ProMdl` --> `ProSolidFeatVisit` --> filter for `PRO_FEAT_COMPONENT` --> `ProAsmcompMdlGet`.But we need the `ProMdl` handle of the actual part, not of the occurrence - in order to inspect the geometry before assembly-level features were applied. For normal (non-embedded) parts, we would use:ProMdl mdl;ProError err = ProMdlFiletypeLoad(path, PRO_MDLFILE_UNUSED, PRO_B_FALSE, &mdl);This works fine for normal paths like "C:\models\PRT0001.prt.1", but for an embedded component's virtual path like "C:\models\PRT0002<<ASM0001>>.prt", it returns `PRO_TK_INVALID_NAME`. In the Creo Parametric UI, one can right-click the embedded part and click "Open" to see it in its

Hi,I use CREO Parametric 9.0 Student Eddition as a Hobbyist. Dear all, I Need solution to Remove "Part missing in directory" message by using creo toolkit program as shown in below image within creo toolkit features. and when program ends, I need to create log file for missing parts in directory.Case 1-  if i have many parts, drawings in directory but for few drawings ,its linked parts are is not available in same directory then if i try to run my creo toolkit feature, it is showing "Part missing in directory" message multiple time for each and every missing parts as shown in below image. so it is creating interruption in run time.(example -if i have 10 parts missing for 10 drawings in directory then message will be populated for 10 times)Query - can we remove this message by using creo toolkit program as shown in below image while run time and when program ends can we make its log file for missing parts ?Condition - 1) Part name and drawing name may be same or different.2) one drawing can have multiple parts linked.Image -&n

When in Creo after selecting "open", the "File Open" dialogue box appears. This presents me a "list" of Creo files in my workspace. Most of the columns displayed in this dialogue box mean nothing to me. Is there a way to create custom columns that read desirable parameters that would help me better find files during my "open" process? Thank you!

HiRecently I have been learning Creo Toolkit.I have some doubts about using ProToolkit and Creo Object Toolkit The development environment is VS2019 and Creo 9. As a beginner, I started learning the Protoolkit and later learned the Object Toolkit. I referred to the example code of PTC and found that there are exceptions when using interfaces that both exist. The Pro toolkit interface works properly, but the object toolkit interface may cause program crashes. Debug information output "Invalid parameter passed to C runtime function."For example, when selecting model items interactively, the ProSelect() function in the toolkit interface works properly, while the pfcSession:: Select() function crashes when the cancel button is clicked; When displaying messages, the Toolkit interface ProMessage Display() function can function properly, while the object Toolkit interface pfcSession:: UIDisplayMessage will crash. I am using C# for my uses and vb API to communicate creo app. my requirement is to be control on pop-up message's "OK" or "Close" button, Is there any way to get control on this "OK" or "Close" button from my C# code? Hi,   I have a OTK dialog where I use pfsession->Select() for selecting entity from UI. I have button which when presessed, asks user for selection by ->select call. If user launches a new UI or press cancel, creo crashes.   My investigation says, the selection object is leaking. Any help.   Thanks

Hi all, I am working on automating few flows in Creo 8.0.3  using jlink.Is there a way to identify if a model has been modified in creo? I have tried few apis provided in jlink toolkit documentation - GetIsModified() and GetVersionStamp(). Although the output of these methods depend on 'save' action triggered by users. I am looking for a way to track changes in files since the beginning of the session and to identify if any modification in sub-assembly or components changes the parent assembly as well.  Java provides a way to track file changes in a directory using WatchServiceI am successfully able to identify if a sub-assembly or its parent has been modified by registering the workspace and track changes using this method. Are there any limitations to this approach? And is this how creo tracks changes in a model? Thanks

(outline curve mean highlight in picture) Our solution is simple.  1. create section 2. get section curve 3. get curve length   But, section curve have all curve. Creo Version: 9.0.2.0Windchill Version: 12.0.2.7  On the Uses tab of Windchill's part structure browser usually the Unit is set to 'each' by default and the Quantity shows the number of parts on the direct sub-level of the selected part.  I want to be able to change the Unit to e.g. meters or liters via a Creo Parametric parameter. So this parameter would be defined on the component level of the assembly and then be passed to the WTPart by defining global attributes on both EPMDocument and WTPart. I also want to propagate the Quantity variable manually via a Creo parameter.  How would I do this?

We have created custom material as per our company standard, we tried to call this material description in drawing note. We have the syntax note &ptc_material_name to call the name.
