Mathcad

Hello, Can someone tell me why Mathcad isn't able to solve this simple variable? This command works everytime but with these types of equation it doesn't:  I have tried other commands but it still doesn't work:   The solution is quite simple, but I would like it to do it automatically:   Can somebody help me? Hi Folks, I'm converting V15 files to run in Prime 8, but can't figure out out to remove the red arrows and red lines.  The file runs.  Right clicking on the arrows doesn't do anything.  I can't find anything in the online documentation.  I must be missing something.  Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks, Mark files using the converter in Prime 8.

I'd like to specify a matrix size and have it filled with elements from a vector. For this example, I have a vector containing state names and I want to have them fill a 7x4 matrix. I'm running into 2 issues with the attached sheet:I'm very rusty on programming and matrix operations, so the only way I've been able to fill a matrix at the size I want is to reference the specific elements of the vector. I'm sure there's a simpler way to do this using a loop but I haven't been able to figure it outIf the vector changes size, I'd still like to be able to output a matrix with zeroes filling the rest of the nodes. Currently, if I set up a 7x4 matrix and the vector only contains 16 states, the output matrix errors outAny help with this would be greatly appreciated!  

Hi,we have MathCad 7.0 and MathCad 8.0 in use at our school. MathCad is licensed from a license server. For both products a floating license is specified on the license server.We want to restrict the access to the license server as far as possible by a firewall construct. Unfortunately MathCad does not only use port 7788 when issuing licenses, but has many other ports that are necessary to reach the server.Using a live view of our firewall, we were able to track which ports MathCad needs to reach the license server.Unfortunately, the port is always different, so even allowing a small port range is not possible. We noticed some ports in the range of 48000 - 57000, but unfortunately all of them are always different. Sometimes some at 49000, sometimes some at 54000, since today some are in the range 56000.Is it somehow possible to limit the port that checks the reachability of the server or to fix it to one port?Error message down below....  After changing the port in the firewa

Currently I am using excel for all my design calculation. I wanted to know if mathcad is better and how is it better. 

Set up program says that it cannot find the sw_license_email_95084.dat file. I cannot get MathCad to run! what do I do? I can email a snip of the screen.

Hello,I have now tried to download and install MathCad on my macs virtual machine Windows 10 64bit but all stops at unpacking 100% and tthe nothing happens. The window just closes. I have tried running as administrator and all other programs install well but not this one.How can I finally get it to install?I have tried installing it from my desktop NAD even created a TEMP folder in my C:/drive and installing it from there but the behaviour is the same - it never starts the install-wizardHow can I proceed?ThanksDominicus

I'm trying to use the free 30 day trial. MathCad appears to open and work, however the XMCD file converter does not work. I load a file and click convert, but it says "no license" under MCDX status and nothing happens. I received an email with a license file (.dat file type). I followed the instructions to install this license but again nothing appears to happen.

I have a solver block with an equation and a functionFurther down the worksheet I define two ranges of values, x and Vb. Both ranges have values in the range 0-20.  g(x) returns values but g(Vb) shows as I am attaching the worksheet and an Excel workbook which contains the expected results.I would also like to use WRITEEXCEL to output the values of x and g(x) but I can't get that to work either. 

I have 16-bit TIFF images I need to analyze.  But, it seems that Mathcad Prime 8 (and 7 before) only reads them as 8-bit.  Mathcad 15 read them correctly to their full bit depth, but Prime does not.  Does anyone know how to read 16-bit images to their full depth?  (I also have 12-bit JPGs with the same problem, Prime reading them only as 8-bit.) Thank you, KK

Hi,I'm using Mathcad for 3 years now in my school. I have installed it on my PC too, but since yesterday Mathcad doesn't start anymore. I only see the Mathcadlogo and then it disappears. I also have a licensekey activated. Maybe you can help me solve this, because i need this programm for exams and some other things.Best,David

Helping an old man with fading memory would be much appreciated.In the attached Mathcad 15 file, I have somehow enlarged the label fonts.  I cannot recall how I did this.  Can anyone find the setting I used to change the 2D graph fonts? Thanks for any help.Reg

How do I continue an equation on the next two or three lines if necessary?

 so it says my units are incompatable but they are unitless 

I can't figure out why the first equation in the picture does not work, Mathcad says "These units are not compatible." The units of M.w.mid are kip*ft, and 8 is dimensionless. There are no matrices in this spreadsheet, but for some reason the dot/multiplication symbol is acting weird, or like a dot product. I don't really want to use either of the middle equations, because they don't match AASHTO, but if I have to I will. For reference, the correct answer is 103.0kip. Mathcad 15 also returns 103.0kip without a dimension error. 

I am trying to create a vector with values like this1, 2, 3, 4, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8, 5, 6, 7, 8In practice there will be many more values and it wouldn't be practical to enter them one at a time. If I create three vectors like thisv1 := 1,2..4v2 = 4.2,.4...4.8v3 = 5,6..8Is there some way I can combine them into a single vector?Also, I would like the resulting vector to be a row vector rather than a column vector (if that is possible).

Hello everyone, I'm having some big problems trying to solve a finite element method problem for my class. I am trying to determine a stiffness matrix for a problem I was assigned and this requires me to double integrate an 8x3 matrix, a 3x3 matrix, and a 3x8 matrix. I get mathcad to perform the matrix multiplication to give me an 8x8 matrix, even though it says the symbolic value is too large to display. However the issue is, I cannot assign a variable to the result that I am got, I do not understand how to get this to work, when I know mathCAD should be able to do the computation. Below attached is the exact solution to what I am talking about. Please help!
