I am building a program from separate debugged statements. Now I have to do it like this - enter a variable, the operator <- and expression separately.It would be very nice if this could be done with one copy with automatic replacement of operator := by operator <-.  

Hi all,   Any word on the release of Prime 7.0? I've been waiting a year to see if it finally functions and presents well enough to be able to use it in anger in our business. I guess time will tell! I only have a basic wish list:   Sort out the pixellation of Excel components when printing/pdfing. Ability to add frames to headers, footers and the main document text. This makes a great difference to the presentation quality. Until these are sorted we will have to stick with v15 and live with the slowly increasing quirks/crashes, but at least it has the functions we need to create presentable engineering calculation reports.   Anyone else in a similar boat?

Hi,I am having an issue where I can't get a range of values when I use two ranges in one equation: for hlc I am expecting a range similar to Le and v, what am I doing wrong? Thanks!  

I don't know what happened. My Mathcad files will now save as excel files on my computer. When saved, their desktop icon is excel, but they are still MCDX files. When I attempt to open them they are opened in excel which displays an error message.I recently deleted older versions of Mathcad from my computer (I have Prime 6.0 currently) so I'm not sure if that caused the issue. I was very cautious when deleting and made sure to only remove applications with a specified version number that was not 6.0I wanted to attempt to re-download mathcad to see if it would fix my issue, but can not find a link to do so.Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello, dear Mathcad community!    I am working with 18 equations and I need to get the result of 18 unknowns symbolically.  I have searched through the PTC community and tutorials, but Mathcad is telling me about the error with undefined parameter in the function. Can you please help to figure that out? And is it possible to solve such many equations symbolically in Prime 3.1?

I had one bad mark on my math exam at school. The question was - what is the sine of 45 degrees. I immediately drew a rectangular triangle with single legs in my head and gave the answer - one divided by the root of two: the leg divided by the hypotenuse. But I heard from the teacher that the answer is wrong. The correct answer is the root of two divided by two: this is how it is written in all textbooks! And, actually, why?

Hi everyone,   I'm a newcomer to MathCAD and am stuck on a problem.   I have a vector V with n number of data and I want reduce it into a new vector V' in which the first row is the average of the values of first 70 rows from the vector V, then the next row in V' is the average of the values of next set of 70 rows in V, and so forth. I've written the problem more clearly bellow: I'm really not sure how to tackle this, so I'd be thankful for any input. Thank you in advance! Tea

Hello, I have a beam with a triangular line load. For this task I wanted to visualize the existing Mb curve using a My curve. I created this with partial functions. So far so good. As a further step in my task, I wanted to use Mathcad 15.0 to determine the location of the greatest bending moment. From a purely mathematical point of view, this corresponds to zeroing the 1st derivative (lateral force). Everything is clear from the logical understanding to the procedure. Unfortunately, from this point on it does not work completely smoothly and without problems. Because I have created a new definition with the derivation and function including the run variable specified for the derivation. Then I wanted to use the symbolic commands "Coefficients" to output the existing values ​​and to have the 2 possible zeros displayed again with the additional "Set to zero" function. I'm trying to create a calc where the answer is a design factor. The calc works fine when just using numbers, but when I try to use a value from earlier in the sheet I get the 'units are not compatible message'. Would appreciate any help on this, thanks.

As most of the more experienced users of this board will recall, I am a very long-time user of Mathcad (I think it goes back to Mathcad 4!). You may also recall my significant reluctance to use and/or deploy Mathcad Prime...of any version to date, for the countless reasons we've all shared here. Even given this history, I am to a point where the topic has arisen within my division & company to consider deployment of Mathcad Prime ("Why haven't we moved to the newest version?"). Through all of this, I have given kudos to PTC for a number of advantages from newer features within the Prime family (yes there are some very nice capabilities we don't have in v15). Because of the continued, significant need to keep a foot heavily planted in Mathcad v15 world along with now a desire to begin considering a migration to (or inclusion of) Prime, I'd like to know if anybody has deployed BOTH codes to their community. Hello, I am struggling in implementing a problem that  implements Newton's method to solve a system of two non-linear equations: 𝑥^4−𝑦𝑥^3=1 6cos(𝑥+1)−𝑦=2 I am trying to implement  𝑥^(𝑛+1)=𝑥^(𝑛)−𝐽(𝑥(𝑛))−1∙𝐹(𝑥^(𝑛))with 𝐽(𝑥^(𝑛))^−1is the evaluation of the inverse of the Jacobian matrix and 𝐹(𝑥(𝑛))is the output of the equations. I have done most of the iteration work I believe in the function but I am stuck on how to manipulate the values to come up with the intersection points of these two functions.   Here is my code:

My professor said that I will need to buy MathCAD but my CCP advisor said that you guys offer a free license pack for K-12 students. I am a wxMaxima user and shifted to Mathcad recently on the suggestion of my friend. I am testing the software and am being amazed by the easiness. But I found its symbolic engine not up to the mark (let's delay this discussion for some other post). Currently, I am testing the plotting feature of Mathcad. It has become my habit to test every new software I use with these commands just to see the beauty of math and the power of that software.  I am not able to figure out the way from the online help available about this topic and therefore am asking in this community forum.   The first animated plot that I want to create is of a spring moving. The wxMaxima code for this is shown below. This creates a 3D plot of a spring that is stretching and expanding.   The second animated plot that I want to create is a vibrating sheet. Hi.   I work for a small employer and the company only has Mathcad 15. I'd like to be able to go back and forth using the same file between the version of mathcad I have at work and the version I'm considering to purchase for my personal home use.   Can mathcad 15 files work with mathcad prime 6.0 and vice versa?    Can mathcad 15 still be purchased individually from reliable sources?   Thanks!    

To all In mcad Roark's e-book 6th edition there is a worksheet to calculate the stress concentration (case 17b). I just noted that the constants to calculate the values for C1, etc are different to the ones in the latest book (Petersons 3rd edition) 1. Am I correct? 2. I cannot find a 1974 copy 1st edition (I guess!)  which appear to be the reference used. Has anyone got access and could confirm? 3. Is it the same in the latest ebook which I think is based on Roark's 7th edition but as far as I can tell in the printed Roark's 7th edition the numbers are from the 1974 edition too   Thanks Regards
