Hi!I'm trying to solve the deflection of a beam with a constant load along it's length.I have a differential equation of 4th degree with four initial conditions.The moments in the bearings are zero and the deflections too.Now my question is: Why don't i get a solution with "Odesolve" in MP4 although i initialized all four conditions completely?Without Units, it works!The Error Message is: Any help will be appreciatedThank you.Best Regards, Volker

Do you know that we can use in Mathcad Prime? See the picture and try the Prime 3.1 attach! I have created this variable in Mathcad 11 thru Shift-Ctrl-j, opened in Mathcad 15 and convert into Prime. You can copy variable from my sheet, edit its and use in your Mathcad Prime chemical calculation!

I am trying to write a sheet for grad, div, and curl.I am finding that one symbol (rho) is considered as a constant instead of a variable.what should I do to rectify this?

I am doing some cost analysis in the attached sheet. I want to show visually the shapes of the three curves which if I plot each separately is easy to do. However, because the scales are so different I am struggling to find a way to show the shapes of the curves visually on one plot as they appear as straight lines when plotted together. Any tips?Andy

Hi all,I wonder if it is possible to study the relevance of the insertion of a flywheel in the motion chain.I expect to see something by looking the Net Load at the servo motor.My mechanism is a group of an automatic machine: a brushless motor moves a shaft whith two cams that let shift up/down some shafts.Ideally tha angular velocity of the motor (+ reducer) is constant at 840 deg/sec.The equation of the motion is:Mm= motor momentMr= resistant momentJr= inertia momentum reduced to the camshaftIf I add a flywheel on the camshaft I can't see any variation of the Mm.I suppose the reason is that by imposing a constant velocity, the contribute of the Jr (not its derivative) is always zero.For now I don't want to take the resistant moment Mr due to the external forces.Since that I imposed the velocity as a constant, the angular accelration, theta double points, is always zero.If I add a flywheel on the cam-shaft I don't see any variation on the net load (Mm) respect when the flywheel there

Hi guysI am pretty new to Mathcad and hope somebody can help me. I need to know the forces and torques acting on a flat spring I have in my machine. In order to do so I have to solve the 2nd order differential equation and put in the boundary conditions shown below. FMy and MM are not known. In order to solve the equation with odesolve() I have to give values for all constants and it can only solve the problem for two boundary conditions. This is not helpful since I don't know FMy and MM. What would be a smart approach to solve this problem?Regards, Daniel

In the attached MathCAD 3.1 worksheet and screenshot I'm attempting to determine the left reaction force for three beams of the same length with different loadings. The equation works for one beam but I'd like it to work for all 3 (or more). Each row of the pp matrix gives the 2 loads on each of the 3 beams. The y vector gives the load application point on each beam (it's the same for each beam).My question is, how do I iterate the equation for R over the three beams such that the resultant is a [3x1] vector giving the R (reaction) for each beam?

hello all,i am trying to get my head around integration by substitution.in a simple case of the integrand (x-1)/2 dx  I know the answer is (x^2/4)-(x/2).if I try to do this by substitution, I get a bit lost.ive gone as follows:u= x-1du=1*dxdx=du(u/2)du(u^2)/4(x-1)^2/4(x^2-2x+1)/4obviously this is not correct. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?‌

Hello mathcad users. I have a problem in mathcad. I don't know how to make a graphic. I need a graphic like in this photo, red curve. Is symmetrical. Up to half, the graph consists of two functions. I attach a file. I don't know how to reverse the graph of second function and after this, how to built simmetrycal graph. I don't know if i was very explicit. If you need other details, say please. How can I download matchcad 15, if I have already the license for PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 with the possibilty to have also mathcad 15?

Hi everyone,I'm currently using Mathcad 14 and I think there is a problem in the software about the integration calcul.I define a function as a density of probability, so its integral should be 1, but I don't get 1 with some certain bounds. In the picture I have enclosed to the question, you can see that when I integrate a normal law of parameters (μ=100,σ=1) on the interval [90,110], the result is 1. But when I integrate the same function on the interval [0,∞[, the result is 0.Does anyone has already faced this problem ? Do you know if there is a patch to correct this mistake ?TIA for your answers guys.Yvan

Hello everybody. I encountered a problem when trying to plot the dependence of the flight speed of the "union" rocket on time. The program may not be perfect, but so far the main problem that I see is the scalar "h" that appears when using the function. I hope for your help in this matter. Thank you !

Hallo,as for now im still working with mathcad 15 and now i have the problem that i can only copy every mathcad calculation site into word by marking everything and paste in as a bitmap because new word versions doesnt recognise the calculation format properly. So i need to work with an old ms office version.Is there a solution?Is the new Prime 4.0 now a good alternative to the good but old mathcad 15?Thx Stefan

I've been a long-time user of Mathcad (since before it was a Windows application -- I think it was version 2!) and long enjoyed the simplicity of it's interface. PROBLEM 1 - Erroneous symbolic calculations (multiple examples)I just bought MC Prime 4 and was testing some calculations in Prime 4 versus v15 and v13 and came across several disappointments -- errors in MC 15 and MC Prime 4 that MC 13 handles with aplomb. Perhaps I've made some mistakes, but I post this message for any helpful support understanding what's wrong from experienced folks who've been using the products regularly, hopefully to understand my mistakes, if I've made any.Note that in EVERY symbolic calculation issue I outline below, I have no problem with the calculation in MC v13. can anyone help? i want to transfer my mathcad 15 license to another computer, however when i use the license transfer function/reconfigure tool the mathcad 15 doesn't show up in the license report and isn't listed as an option to transfer (only my Prime Licenses). is there any other way to transfer the license to another machine?
