Attempted to load Mathcad 14 on a Windows 11 PC using the disc purchased from PTC. Near the end of installation, received the error code below. I was able to install this program on the same machine two years ago with no problems.Error1904.Module C:\Program Files(x86)\Mathcad\Mathcad 14\mcformsr.ocx failed toregister. HRESULT -2147220473. I want to update my blog on different methods of inserting images in Mathcad Prime because there is an update in Mathcad Prime 11 that changes it dramatically. Since I wrote that, I'm on Windows 11 now on my work laptop, which has Mathcad Prime 10.0.1.0 and Mathcad Prime 11 installed. My personal PC is on Windows 10 (many say I need to get a new PC within six months...) and has a copy of Mathcad Prime 10.0.0.0 on it.   Whenever I'm inserting an image via Insert Object (OLE, Ctrl + Shift + O) on my Windows 11 laptop, it no longer actually shows a thumbnail of the image no matter what image type I use and no matter what my default app for images is. It's just the generic box with the file name in it. On Windows 10 for 10.0.0.0 and I'm pretty sure for 10.0.1.0 before my work laptop got upgraded, it would just embed the image file by actually showing the image file.   I don't think anything happened on the Mathcad side to change this, and that it's a Windows thing, but can someon

Show another waveform that is equivalent to a sine wave with a maximum value of 1 and an effective value of 1/sqrt(2), and find its Fourier series so that the effective value of the Fourier series is 1/sqrt(2).   Below is an exsample of the answers.

I have a question about variable definitions in programming. I have a program with two nested while loops. The second (nested) while loop balances forces in a structure. The first while loop updates a variable DeltaT until some additional criteria is met. DeltaT needs to update in the second (nested) while loop for the program to work. However, the updated value of DeltaT from the first loop is not being passed to the second loop. Why is this, and what can I do to fix the problem? Program is on page 8 of attached spreadsheet. Check and Check 3 demonstrate that the variable is not updating in the nested loop.

Every time I attempt to activate my PTC Mathcad Prime 10.0.1.0 I run into the following error in the "Acquire License" tab: "You have reached the maximum number of license requests available for your product type."

Microsoft is depreciating Visual Basic for Applications and is moving to JavaScript based office add-ins.  The office add-ins do not support the COM model.  How can I connect the office add-ins in JavaScript with the MathCAD API?  The office add-ins do not support ActiveXObjects anymore, so the Add-in fails if you try to use: mathcad = new ActiveXObject("MathcadPrime.Application");

Can somebody please fix the error in the sheet attached? Solve block error

I’ve been searching for days and cannot find a solution. Mathcad Prime 11, Windows 10 (and 11 on another machine), MS365 current version fully licensed. I can usually insert an excel component into my worksheet. Any worksheet; new, old, etc. As soon as I create an input or output variable, the border around the component turns red and at the bottom I read an “Excel is busy…” error. Sometimes I get that error while trying to insert the component and it would let me do it. I’ve read all over that people are having this problem on various versions of Excel, Mathcad, Windows. None of the posted solutions seem to work for anyone, and none have worked for me. I believe way back when I was using Mathcad 15 this feature worked perfectly. Now it seems to be a problem that, although widespread, PTC says they cannot reproduce it on their systems. I find this hard to believe. Does anyone have a solution for this problem? I created a table in Mathcad 8.0 by copy and pasting raw data (red outline in attached image) from Excel to Mathcad.  Now that I have the table created in Mathcad (blue outline in attached image), I want to overwrite it with new data (orange outline in attached image).  For whatever reason, copy and paste of the orange data does not seem to work when I try to paste into the blue outline.  What am I doing wrong?  I have tried to clear the cells in Mathcad first, to no avail.

Hey there,Can anybody confirm that, is there any availibility of coding of any type in Mathcad Prime 7? (PS: I`m currently using Mathcad 11 and I have a client that uses Prime  and raised this question. As I`m not entirely sure if it, I would require one of your assistance. It`s not about 'Advance Input/Output commands' coding. I want to move my Mathcad Prime 3.0 license from one machine to another. I have the Service Contract Number (SCN), but not the product code required to proceed. Can I retrieve the product code from the SCN? 

Electrical engneering uses RMS(Root Mean Square) values for the signal wave forms. Using the magnitude of the waveforms to be 1, rectangilar , sine and triangle waveforms show the RMS values 1/sqrt(1), 1/sqrt(2) and s1/qrt(3), respectively. So, find the 1/sqrt(4) and 1/sqrt(5) RMS waveforms with magnitudes = 1. Also find the average values of each wavefrom.  Advanced problem.Make the f(x,n). It provides the above answers.

I'm writing a journal article and importing lots of MathCAD equations into Word (.  There's three ways to show a MathCAD equation, colon, control-equals or equals.  Only the equals key gives me a publishable equals sign (colon gives a colon-equals, shift-colon a bold equals)., but I can't use the equals key to show variables on both sides without one of the variables turning red ("This variable is undefined"), or if defined, other problems. Any ideas? ...Larry

I am unable to install Mathcad Prime 11 on my Windows 11 PC. When I attempt the install, I get the following error message even though I already have .NET Framework 4.8.9 installed (apparently it is now part of Windows 11 and cannot be uninstalled):  Anyone have a fix/workaround for this? 

Hi, I am trying to make a calculation sheet however i have unit problems since mathcad doesn't seem to work correctly. First is calculating parallel resistance gives a weird result but can manually be corrected.  For example RPV should come as ohms then further down Ilimh*RPV should clearly come as volts.....

MathCAD seems to recognise milli-, kilo- and mega- versions of certain units (eg mW, kW, MW, mm, km) but not others (eg kJ, MJ, kmol).  I find that I am almost always having to start a worksheet by defining kJ or kmol ... which is a real nuisance and seems unneccesary. So:- what is the rationale behind the units that have kilo-, milli- or mega- versions?- is there a way of ensuring that these combos are defined for every worksheet (the new Prime 11 units change is no help here)? 

I have a version of Mathcad 5.0 which I downloaded in 2019.I would like to install and run on a new computer.Can you advise if this is possible?

Good morning, PTC Community:I am getting stuck in quite a simple solve block. See attached for pipe min wall thickness calculation.A sensible solution for OD is somewhere slightly greater than 0.60-inch.Is this related to TOL or CTOL commands? Even if I take the TOL or CTOL off, the solution gets stuck in the solver.Do I have too many items in the Guess block?I use Mathcad Prime 10.0.1.0. Your review and suggestions for a fix will be appreciated. Regards,Joseph T.

Since @ttokoro  recently once again tried to take us into the world of riddles and puzzles (-> Find BC:CD - PTC Community), I thought I would follow up with a problem that I dealt with some time ago.   Its the 123 year old Haberdasher problem, posed originally by the famous puzzle inventor Henry Dudeney. Actually there are various different publishing dates around - 1902, 1903, 1907 ...   The task is to divide an equilateral triangle of side length 1 with three straight, but not necessarily continuous, cuts into four parts so that they can then be put together to form a square. Dudeney provided the solution only in the form of a drawing, but without specifying the exact dimensions. Let D and E be the midpoints of AC and AB. The first cut runs from E to a point F on AB. The other two cuts run from D and G perpedicular to EF. G is a point an AB and it can easily be seen that AG = AF+0.5 (or equivalent GB = 0.5-AF). The four pieces now can be assembled to form

I've been using Mathcad Prime 3.0 for a few years now.  With annual subscriptions, I'd expect that updates would keep me current, but seeing that there's a version 11.0 now, looks like I was wrong.   My IT department loaded 3.0 on my new laptop, which should have been the same as on my old desktop, but I cannot open the files created previously.  I get the message "This file is not compatible with your current version of Mathcad, because it is from a more recent version of Mathcad".   Any ideas on why this is happening?   What later versions of Prime would still be able to open these 3.0 files?
