Mathcad

Hi.  Im kind of new to mathcad and im trying to make a function whitch can calculate the equivalent line load for a road. I have used a document which has the calculation i need, but unfortunately it does not work for me.  Can any of you see what is wrong, thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, I'm doing assignment related to passenger transit probability which indicates the probability that a passenger chooses to travel from floor ''i'' to the floor ''j''. This is only 4 floor building.''P_arr'' is an arrival rate on each floor and ''U'' is a dedicated population on each floor. This is a formula which I have to use. And this is my initial matrix from Word for calculation's Does anyone know how to create a matrix 4x4 like below from vector ''U'' and vector ''P_arr"?     This is actual case study from one of journals and there are results for this if this helps a bit I would be very grateful for helpGreg

Hello, I am working on a simply supported beam calculator. I have everything up and working but I am having trouble when it comes to determining the maximum of the displacement and it's corresponding x value.  In the collapsible area under the loads you can see I have the various displacement equations and to find the total displacement I sum them up. I then need to find where this value is a maximum but I don't know how to do it other than reading it off the graph.  Is there a more elegant way to determine the maximum so I can define a function for maximum displacement and corresponding x-location. I have attached the sheet for reference. Thanks,Callum 

I want to frame a function to plot for Shear force 

Is it possible for me to mark a variable with a bar on top (see picture below) to indicate it’s a complex number? This is how I normally do it in WordMat:I understand that the bar is used for conjugation in Mathcad but it is how we are taught a complex numbers variable is displayed.

I want to plot the adiabatic flame temperature of a mixture, given the excess air present but I don't know how to tell/write the program to find the value given the excess air. I'm using Coolprop's fluid properties libraries to get the enthalpy of the mixture and mathcad prime 7.

Hi allI am using Visual Basic for Application in Excel and am trying to pass an array of strings from Excel to Prime 8 through the API. I have managed to pass a matrix/array of numbers, but if I change the matrix content to strings, the OutputGetMatrixValue object fails with Errorcode = 7, suggesting "Matrix result is invalid." See Figure.png and below code. It appears not possible from the help documentation, see Figure2.png. Alternatively, I could convert the strings to unicode numbers, and then pass them to Excel through the below code, and then convert them back to strings. I am in the process of writing an M050 worksheet, a patent disclosure, into Prime8. Quotient numerator and denominator are usually power series in root(s). In M050, simplify gives me a quotient in integral power of the complex variable, (s). Nothing seems to work in Prime8. This is so basic; it is a nuisance. I must be doing something wrong.

Does anyone know how to turn off the green outline that appears around duplicate variables in Prime 8.0? It even occurs around subsequent members of an array, which are technically not the same variable. Please see the attached screen shot. The green outline didn't exist in Prime 7.0 but suddenly showed up in Prime 8.0. I would like to get rid of it since it doesn't appear very professional in a printout.

Hello do anyone have a work around for the following problem, i am trying to multiply the terms within Tidx by Phi and b, of which i get the correct result (when undefined). when i try to define that to put into another equation it pull through an error.   Sheet attached thank you

Hi guys i am having a error when trying to find a Phi value between two types; essentially if Srtype is "cohesive" for that layer of ground then Phi should be = to 0 deg. Else read from the value from the table for the following increments and so on...... sheet is attached,  thank you and help would be appreciated  

Hello, I am trying to solve a system of differential equations to calculate the change of temperature and pressure in switchgear during an arc fault. The equations are as follows:where C2 equals: "T" is temperature and "p" is the pressure, PL is the power of the arc which is a function of time and is calculated earlier. The rest are constants.I've attemped to calculate this in Mathcad Prime 8 using the rkfixed function, inputting the full equations with the C2 factored into the them:I've input "T" as "y0" and "p" as "y1" in the equations using the matrix index operator. The first equation if for temperature and the second for pressure. The initial conditions are for the initial temperature of 300 and pressure of 101325. I'm getting an unknown error which roughly translates to "calling object expection". It does seem to dissapear when i replace one of the "y0" or "y1" variables with a constant in the second equation, but not in the first. However the results are then inco
