Mathcad

HiI would like to use simple "if" operators in my computation, just because I'm used to do so with Mathcad 15.Is it so that I also need to use "also if" statements with Prime?In some of my computations simple "if" statements appear to work, but for some reason the attached computations result into different results.Could someone clarify why I cannot use only "if" statements? Thanks

However, I still have to take the integral of Werner_E's equation to get the moment graph; and now, I'm trying to take the integral again to get the deflection graph. Is anyone here good enough at taking integrals that you could provide formulas for the integral (as opposed to just using the software to taking the integral) and second integral of the equation in Werner_E's more efficient function V formula? Whilst playing around with a Newton-Raphson solver for a simultaneous set of functions, I noted a disparity between the Mathcad 15 and Mathcad Prime 7 results for the Jacobian of one set of functions.  To eliminate the possibility of other parts of the worksheet contaminating the environment, I copied the function to a blank worksheet.   Unfortunately, I get the same results.      Why is the derivative d/dξ for just cos(x₀) yet isn't when multiplied by x₀??     Mathcad 15 returns the result I expect.   Does this happen in Mathcad Prime 6 under the legacy symbolic engine? Is there a valid reason why this MP7 behaviour occurs? If so, should it? If not, is it a bug?   Stuart

Hello everyone, I am working on a specific case and I have a problem writing the correct code. Let me explain it.The file is attached. Even though some parameters are red, they are all known. I just had too much data to include in the file, and I just wanted to keep it simple. My goal is to obtain n1,n2,n3,n4,n5 coefficients, along with T1new, such that f(T) for this T1new will be equal to zero. Moreover, f1,f2,f3,f4,f5 must be equal to zero as well. As a result, I want to achieve such n1-n5 and T1new, that f1-f5 will be zero and f(T1new) will be zero. All other parameters are known. I am not even sure if I am on the right track to find the solution.Any help would be appreciated. RegardsMurarz  

Hi all,I've a question regarding the use of the ODESOLVE function.In the attached file, I solve a ODE with the ODESOLVE function. It did work before, but now I changed 2 paramterers: How it was, and when ODESOLVE did work. How it is now. I've changed all the formulaes which include PB(rb,HL) too. But now ODESOLVE isn't able to solve the system. What could be the problem? Thank you lots for your help in advance!

Can't get WRITEBIN to output to a subfolder in Prime 7.0, although other write functions such as WRITETEXT will. Does anyone have a workaround for this, or is this something Prime will support in the future?

Hello, I have a problem with my file and I don't know how to solve it. It should be pretty simple, but I don't know how to solve it. I'm including the files and my program. My question is as follows. In the first for (counter j), when it starts from zero to 3, it gives me some values, when I start from 3 to 3, it gives me another value. Somebody can help me?Thanks

Hi!,Basically I have to draw the surface distribution given by the function f (y, z) on the plane of the tube section whose position on the axis is changed by moving the cursor of the slider. The fact is that unexplained phenomena occur when the cursor is moved, such as enlargement or shrinkage of the tube. Is anyone able to put order into that program? I solved a similar problem for a community member about ten years ago or more, without the use of createmesh but only with programming. I can not find it anymore.

Hi, is it possible to use Mathcad for optical ray tracing? I am able to do the ABCD gaussian beam propagation but wish to visualise the rays i.e. bouncing off mirrors.I am running Mathcad 15Thanks

I am still using MC 14.0. I had to re-install it because the motherboard on my computer went bad. Now, when I go to the Trace tab in plot format it comes up blank and clicking on anything but cancel crashes the program. Other tabs are fine. I installed the M020 release but that did not help. Any suggestions?  

I used the Mathcad to derive equations, but I noticed that the program gives a wrong derivate for the followingd[(x-1)/(4x*(1+x))]/dx, Mathcad gives the answer as [(-x+1)*x'*(x+1)+x(x+1)]/[4x*(x+1)^2], which is wrong. Would you please advise if anything caused such wrong answer?Thanks!

My students and me decided to check which oval Paint draws. It seems to be an ellipse. See pictures below and Prime 6 in attachment.But there was a suspicion that these are arcs of two pairs of circles - see Oval - Wikipedia. Problem. There are the coordinates of the four vertices of the "horizontal" oval. It is necessary to draw an ellipse through these points (this problem is solved) and an oval made up of arcs of two pairs of circles. What oval does Paint build? Maybe there is a third way?

Hello,Although not new to mathcad, I have never attempted anything other than a simple if statement with programming before. Today I decided to use a while loop so that I would not have to show all the iterative calcs written out in mathcad prime 6. Instead of having a condition attached to the while loop (for example "while n>0") I wanted to make my check based on an if statement at the end of the while loop. Essentially I would like the while loop to ALWAYS trigger unless a "break" or "continue" statement is reached within the while loop. I have posted my spreadsheet because I am really not sure how to even begin to guess what the issue is. In the mathcad sheet I wrote all of my initial calcs on the left. When I decided I wanted to condense them using mathcad programming, I developed the program on the right. Note that in the program my iteration check tolerance is based on the norm of the strain vectors which is different from my initial calcs where it was based on the distance t

I prepare my Mathcad figures for publication so that they are on a white background, not on a paper background. One of the solutions is to move the operator to the plot area with a white background.Are there any other solutions?

I would like to suggest that Mathcad implement the ability to create and use various types of probability paper:  normal probability, log normal probability and others

 Whenever units are induced within worksheet it gives some unexpected results. Can someone comment what I am missing in here

I wrote this file some time ago and I would like to think it worked.  Now I am being told the file can't be initialized.  I have left out something.  Help would be appriciated
