it does not work..

Hello dear community, I actually have a simple question. I'd like to subtract two functions in Mathcad that work but not the way I want.   Here is my problem as an example: x1:=1..5A(x1)=2*x1+3B(x1)=4*x1+1 C(x1)=A(x1)-B(x1)   At the beginning I defined the range of the function. In the function C(x1) I want to calculate the difference between the two functions. If I do this, the vector C(x1) does not have 5 sizes, but 25. What do I have to do, so that C(x1) is only the difference of the individual sizes of the function?   Thank you very much!  

You should release Mathcad Prime for TABLETS like (iPadOS and Android) as WolframAlpha and Matlab did. Most people use tablets as a replacement for traditional laptops in schools and at work. And when they need to work seriously, they simply add a keyboard and a mouse (BUT if you consider the stylus influence, everyone is going to be paperless SO you can add a specialized drawing feature to sketch the analisys or simplification of the problem, the drawings that we always use to solve a problem). And if you add the same cloud based workflow as Fusion360 or OneNote did you can have a team working in the same sheet of paper or sharing information in real time. Just imagine that.   Android and iPadOS have now file managers, which means that you can have files organized the same way as you do on a Windows PC. If you launch a full version for iPadOS and Android, you will be the first CAE software leader in all engineering schools because we all start learning by doing manual calculation

In Mathcad 15 you can create a prime symbol (') when defining a variable using the CTRL-F7 keystroke.  I am not able to do this in PTC Prime 6.  Please advise as to how this is done with Prime 6. 

Hello All, I have this issue with the substitute function when in conjunction with Explicit. It doesn't display all components of an equation no matter what I do; see attached sheet. Any suggestions? Raiko p.S. MathCad 15 on a Win7, 64 bit machine

Hello,   I solve a non linear system by making use of MathCaf and I store the results in a variable (let's call it "sotto"). There are some values of the parameters (a, b, c, d) for which there is not any solution of the system,  therefore MathCAD returns an error message (see attachment).   I would like to add an "if statement " to monitor when the solution of the system does not exist.   For example, if the system does not have solutions, the variable SOL=0, otherwise SOL=1. Is there a way (a built-in variable ?) that tells me that the system is impossible to be solved?     Thank you Kate

Hi all,   I am a beginner at MathCAD. I am using a trial version of MathCAD 15.   I have created an array, lets call it "a" (11 rows x 1 column) and then I have created a Matrix, let's call it "B" (2 rows and 1 column). The first element of the Matrix (1st row, 1st column) is the array "a".   How can I address to one of the elements of the array "a", contained inside the Matrix "B"?   For example, referring to the attached picture, what is the right syntax to extract the third element of the array (number 200)?   Thank you Kate        

I have received a file to plug my variables in and use. But after 14 pages (the file is 34 pages long) variables stop being defined. Literally for no reason: they're defined on the page before that, they're even defined in a similar formula to the side, but after a certain point, the whole thing just stops computing.   I tried recalculating the whole thing several times and copy-pasting the whole thing into a newly made document, but that had no effect. It is most likely NOT a fault in writing of the document, since the same document worked for my buddy (he lent me this document).   Can anyone advice me how to stop this irregular behaviour?     (all other variables there are defined earlier)

Hi, completely new to MathCad (using MathCad prime 6.0).  I'm doing some engineering work and simply need MathCad to understand "ppm".  I've tried to find a solution on this forum and via google to no avail.   For example, I can assign "25%" to a variable and when I output that variable I get 0.25.  But when I assign "25ppm" to a variable, it doesn't understand.  Any suggestions?   Thank you, Erik

hi,   How can I get a free student license for Matchad 6 or others versions? I can to donwload but I don't know how to get a license for students. Is not free?  I activated free trial version ( I downloaded from student section   https://www.ptc.com/en/academic-program/academic-products/free-software https://www.mathcad.com/en/try-and-buy/mathcad-express-free-download    ) , and I have one more day to use full version. After this period will became automatically free? Is that true?. Could somebody help me, please?   thanks David

When using Math Formatting on a multiple selection it completely crashes the program. On top of that, it shows this message about succesfully saving the file and when this saved/recovery file is open, it fails to open it saying "wrong format". It looks to me like 2 bugs tightly linked together. Anybody else experiencing the same problem?

Hallo guys,   i have a small problem. Actually i need to build an Iterative Calculation procedure. I have just started the process to build it up. I got help from you guys already so i have a template.   Now i have a complicated equation which i cannot transform to the desired searched value. So i use the mathcad "Vorgabe" Function in order to recalculate the value.  Now i dont know how to write it correctly into my Iterative procedure.   I think i only need to know the correct Syntax in order to be able to proceed my work   Thank you,   BR Stefan

Hi everyone, I am new to Mathcad Prime (first time using it). I have to solve 4 unknowns given 4 equations, but i'm not sure how even after watching all the YouTube tutorials. The software keeps telling me that i have variables undefined, but they are not supposed to be defined as I have to solve for them. Would appreciate any help! Thank you (:

Hi, I am trying to manually make a table of contents in Mathcad 15 file. I can add a tag to particular text region (Properties--Display---Tag), but when I open "insert hyperlink" menu [to link to this region from another text region], it gives me only the options "Link to a file or url".  Is there a way to link to a particular region in the same file? Or, otherwise, is there a way to insert an automatic table of contents based on text regions headings?
