To all I am doing my 1st step with the montecarlo() function in mcad 15. I copied the example and put my own function and it seems to work fine. Does anyone know if there is a way of getting/creating the “enveloping” ellipse one often sees on a Monte Carlo plot? I attached one on which I drew the ellipse I think the length of the minor and major axis have a meaning (in the Mont Carlo world) byut can’t quite remember what it is!
Hello all!I have uploaded a file which was working fine in Mathcad 7. It uses Minerr function to solve Id which is an iterative function. But it is not working on Mathcad 14. I have more of similar files with lots of work. All earlier files are working except the minerr function in them. Is there any change how minerr is handeled in Mathcad 14 than it was done in Mathcad 7?Please help to make it work again.@
It seems there is no formating possibility of pages in MP 5.0. Is it still not possible to use your own page numbering system? Like starting with a pagenumber you want, in the configuration you want (i.e. pagina 1 van 2 - in dutch). Or choose your own page margins? Or have a framework (or two). The "old" Mathcad 15 his it all for decades. Can someone tell me where it is hidden in MP 5.0, since it should be lined up with features of M15.
Video Link : 5837 Kepler сlock are a traditional clock with arrows and dial. The difference is that a Kepler clock face is not a circle but an ellipse with the numbers 1, 2, 3 ... 12 (I, II, III ... XII). Arrows (hour, minute and second) move in a circle uneven. The length of the arrows also change as they move. Arrowheads describe an elliptical trajectory. Additionally on the dial displays sector, covering two adjacent hours between which at any given time is second hand. This sector is changing its location and shape of every five seconds, but its area remains constant according to Kepler's second law. These watches can hang in classrooms mathematics, planetariums, observatories, museums ...More about Kepler Clock Case 7: Earth and Satellite Or Kepler's clock
Hi all, I'm working on on a sheet which calculates section forces and deflections in a cantilever beam based on a function for the load. There's multiple integrals involved: define q(z) V(z) = integrate q(z) over z = 0...z M(z) = integrate V(z) u(z) = double integration of M(z) In my sheet this sort of looks as follows, where q is a ranged function, see the top left graph: Steps 2 and 3 are easy for MathCAD to compute, but step 4 (bottom right graph) puts my computer in an endless loop of calculation. MathCAD 15 also has it hard, but does come to a result after a while, where MathCAD Prime 4 is still calculating after about an hour. I can understand that multiple integrations can be cumbersome for my computer, but in my opinion, this is what MathCAD should be good at? Am I doing something wrong somewhere, are there ways to get the last step working, or am I just asking too much of the software? Thanks in advance for
Hi, I am fairly new to Mathcad Prime, but having used 11,13 and 14 previously. I have defined some new units, but for some reason Prime 5 is unable to use these user defined units in the evaluation result of a calculation. Am I doing something wrong, or is it simply not possible? I have tried both with normal definition and global definition of the unit.
Hello everyone!I am trying how the MAthcad 15 "Compare Worksheets" command works, it is present in Tools. In this regard, I did not find a mention in the guide. So for proof, I created two very similar and very simple worksheets, but I do not understand how the comparison works. For example the constant b has different values and the number of letters M in the two strings is different but there is no indication about. I enclose a photo of the result. I thank you in advance for your reply. Greetings Francesco Mezzanino.
Hi there, I am new to Mathcad tool and nowadays preparing a calculation sheet for Cantilever and Deflection Forces Analysis. Please see attached herein my query with post. Now at first column there are two cateogries for type of span and against some type of support is given. Respenctively there are three factors (a,b,y) which need to be considered depending upon these 1st and 2nd column's values. In column three, there are two more condition like point A and B as given above. So my query is that how can I or what function do I need to use here to execute the desired output based on these criteria. I have just starting learning Mathcad so I am wondering if anyone from the communtiy help me to figure out the correct method. Many Thanks, Regards
I have written a for loop code and I want to assign the final answer to a variable that is out side the code so I can use it else where in the program. I have attached the file. The value returned by k is the final answer Thanks!
Many years ago as a young(er) engineer I received a memo (from someone who may happen to be a regular contributor here) about the dangers of spreadsheets. One of the key points was the mathematical limitations of excel - in the memo demonstrated by a Runge-Kutta solution not being accurate. I have a few questions may be you can help me with: a.) Have there been any upgrades to Excel in the last decade that corrected such issues? b.) Does anyone happen to have an example that shows bad excel results vs mathcad/matlab/maple etc. (Limited time for me to attempt to reproduce the R-K at the moment) c.) Any other examples or reasons on why excel is probably not the best choice for engineering calculations? (besides clarity and operation order) Thanks,

Why isn't writetext working in programs?
Hi!I have written a function i call "STACK(A)" that takes a column vector, and loops through it and stacks all non zero elements in a new column vector. My problem is the output, the new column vector is displayed as: Any suggestions on how to get a new normal column vector like the "IntendedOutput" Regards 😄 Sigurd
I'm trying to solve a simple differential equation dCO2L but it does not work with ode solver I'm curios why.... Need help!
Hallo Everybody, My name is Yudi. I am a student and I newbie using Mathcad Prime software. I have a problem so I hope somebody can give me a solution. I using this software for analysis RC beam and after I get the result, I compare with experiment data. The problem is I can not transfer the result in the plot because there is a warning "These array elements must be scalar. They cannot be vectors or matrices". I have searching in other reference and I try to apply the method but the warning still appears.
Hi, I'm installing Mathcad Prime 5.0, but the "Application Selection" Section is empty and i dont know why?

Greetings! I am solving a pair of odes using mathcad built in odesolve function. I want to know if there is a way to alter the default tolerance and number of iterations of this function. Because when i solve it its gives a statement that solution is not converging to a solution refer to Help. Thanks.
Hi everybody, how can I solve this equation? I found problems because of the derivative function squared. I need to collect the term derivative not squared...Thanks Bye
Hey when i definition a value with a unit and want to recall it later. It alwas shows the SI unit instant of the unit i use when i definition. Anyway that mathcad can recall with the unit I did definition, so that i dont have to do it manual everytime ?
I am performing some martrix algebra. When I ask Mathcad what cos(pi/2) equals it says "6.123X10^-17". How do I get this value to revert to 0, which is the true value?Thank youJamie
Hi, I have several CSV files that contain 10,000 rows by 16 columns in a .CSV generated file as seen in the attachment. I want to execute some formulae on these data so that I can open it up and be able to run the formulae for each CSV file. How can I make this file to work? Originally I had to convert CSV file to xlsx and then read it as follows. [num21 txt21 numtxt21]=xlsread('R21_08S','B2:Q10001'); However this is too tedious and I would rather read it as: [fNameDatai, pathNameData]=uigetfile('*.csv', 'Select the DATA file','Multiselect','on');if ~iscell(fNameDatai),fNameData{1}=fNameDatai;else fNameData=fNameDatai;end so that I don't have to convert CSV file to xslx and be able to just select the rows and columns I need. Thanks Thanks
In the attached Mathcad prime 3.1 worksheet (along with screenshot) I've graphed two vectors in an X-Y plot. Is it possible to create a function such that the user can type in any value for temperature( within the highest and lowest value) and receive the temperature back?
Hello, I have a problem with importing my MathCad results into the Excel component. I have two variables and I want their summation (one a range hhm, and the other one is a scalar hm). I can get the summation outside of the Excel component, but it's not working inside the Excel component. Any tip is really appreciated. Thank you! Helya
What is a Range variable? This is a variable, without which it was impossible to do someone in old-old versions of Mathcad (Mathcad 4 I think but not Prime). There was no programming and technology for QuickPlot in this versions. Now, we have programming and technology of QuickPlon. But we continue to use the range variable according to habit, for convenience. But this sometimes creates some problems (one example here). The range variable is similar to the vector and some Mathcad users try to apply to the range variable tools intended purely for the vector. My question is this! Can you show me one Mathcad sheet where we can not do anything without a range variable? One little example:
