How to batch create a large number of users in Windchill

Curious what others are doing. When you deploy apps, do you link directly to them or do you make use of the landing page? I can see my page getting very cluttered soon with an ever growing cluster of "custom apps" appearing at the bottom. I am sure I can create my own front end with direct links to each app but is there a more standard way of modifying the landing page or even making a new one? I can see just a simple reorganization and sorting might be helpful.

Hi, I would like to get the same folder and content representation of project container from Windchill to Navigate using ODATA services, I stuck at getting subfolders(level 2+). Please help me. I use the following API Windchill/servlet/odata/v6/DataAdmin/Containers('ID')/Folders?%24count=false&%24expand=Folders However, this gives me only the first level of the folder structure not the nested folders. Also, How to get the folder content?  many thanks,Janakiraman

But now in Windchill 13 it is replaced by OrganizationServicesManager.queryPrincipals(Class paramClass, Map<String, List> paramMap, DirectoryContextProvider paramDirectoryContextProvider). Previously parameters what we were passing were of type Class - wt.org.WTUser, String - "uid=" + userid and DirectoryConectProvider. now in new version, it is given as passing map, but not sure what should be the key and what should be the value. Hi all, I am looking for possible options to export and import a BOM Filter in Windchill. Is there any OOTB way to export a filter and import into another Windchill? Or do we have to manually create loader files?

I did WVS Job Scheduler Administration but due to some limitation there as per our requirement so I moved to schedule queue but how to run scheduled job weekly based.   Thanks Afroz

I am new user to this PLM and am in this situation where our company has just migrated files from different Location into Windchill. It now hosts different Documents (word excel and PDF) and CAD Drawing files, but when the files were migrated, we keep it as it is. My goal is to relate different files from different folder based a Role's context (e.g. Engineering or Quality team). Essentially query the migrated files that is only related to this Group of People. Unfortunately, despite that this PLM has Folder to Role access Feature, limiting the Folders that can be accessed based different Teams is not an option right now because we don't have people to maintain that. Meaning every team can see every Folder. We also cannot use the Query Feature which supposed to create Global and Local saved views, which reduces the files being populated in the view OR create some custom view depending on the Role. Rearranging Files and Folder through automatic means might not be good as

I have a requirement where if I add a specific type of WTPart to existing Part in Part structure using OOTB actions "add existing"/"add new", the Parent part to which I want to add child part should not iterate.  For this I have implemented listener and catch the PRE_STORE event and could found the target object which is WTPartUsageLink. From this I got both  roleA and roleB objects, and then I undo check out the roleA (parent) and then created an usagelink and finally tried to save it using PersistenceHelper.manager.insert() APIHere the issue is probably in back end after PRE_STORE , there is PRE_CHECKIN event that might be calling so I am getting exception that unable to find the checked-out copy. Here there will not be any working copy because I undo check out it using WorkInHelper.. API. My overall intension is that parent part should not iterate but need to create usagelink by adding a  child part (of specific type). Note: This I need only when I am trying

Hello everybody, I have a very short question about generating a new attribute including a traffic light. I have created a new integer attribute with the following formula behind:   (state.state == “CANCELLED”) ? 0 : (state.state == “INWORK”) ? 1 : (state.state == “RELEASED”) ? 2 : 3   But when I try to save the changes I get the following warning: "Value entered for Formula is invalid." What am I doing wrong here? Many thanks!

If a user checks out a document and checks it back in, is there any way to identify if the content of the document changed, or it was just a metadata change event? I am trying to avoid unnecessarily exporting content if it has not changed.

Hi All, I am trying to build a Part Structure Iterator module that recursively iterates a Part structures and returns all the parts under them using the combination PartBuilder and Navigation Criteria. I found this quicker compared to WTPartHelper.service.getUsesWTParts. Now I want to customize it further by adding methods that return only leaf nodes(parts that do not have any children) and parts of a specific type. Anybody got any simpler solution? like playing with Navigation criteria?
