Hi all We are auditing to see whether the user and group roles are set up correctly. Using QueryBuilder, we can report on the Document record. The 'entryset' field can be deserialized using the java conversionHelper. The deserialized data contains WTGroup ID's.  We use a Python script to substitute group names for the group ID's. All good.   We would like to do the same with Part records. However the entryset field is empty (WC11.0 M030). The other tables which can be joined to Part do not have entryset data either. How can we get WTGroup data for Parts? We think there is entryset data in the Product record, but that seems not very useful.   We would also want this data for drawings and other objects in WC. How to control the numbering order of newly created parts when performing a save as on a part structure when autonumbering is activated - It seems as Windchill creates the parts randomly

Hello Experts,    I have windchill 12 with sqlserver database, i have dropped the existing database and created new one dolling this article: https://www.ptc.com/en/support/article/CS28197   I understand that after that i should run PSI and point to newly created database to populate schema and plug in windchill with it, however when i run PSI i dont see any opion that says update existing database or something similar!!, any Idea?   Regards,  Youssef

Hello,   During the design of O&V for a customer, I realized the pain of not having a default "choice" for a given "Option". Every time when trying to simulate the configuration(Action > Configure from the overlaoded bom ), one needs to select the "choice" value for each of the "Option". Else it results in incorrect variant delivery or if the overloaded BOM is huge, it hangs.   I would request the team to consider this new product idea to enhance the O&V feature.   Allow to set default "choice" for a given "option".   Thanks, Raghuram

Hello,   Is it possible to prioritize the view of the BOM when generating ESI response xml. For example, if I have two views of the part, one Design View and one Manufacturing view, and both views' object is added to the change notice resulting objects, publish only Manufacturing view BOM and do not include Design view BOM in the response xml ?   Thanks in advance.   Regards, Sha

How does your company treat the end-of-life state?  For example, if a part is matured to the Obsolete state that means that this part should no longer be used in designs.  Assuming that the latest version is matured to Obsolete, what does that mean for previously Released versions?   Are previously Released versions still able to be used in designs?  Do you have to mature ALL previously Released versions to the end-of-life Obsolete state as well?  Or, does your company interpret the Obsolete latest version as applying to ALL previously Released versions?

Hi, Im trying to make a very simple workflow to manage a sort of data submission queue for 3D printing. I need to send an email to the creator of the Document when the queue manager changes the state of the document to "complete", I have the email trigger set up to send to "creator" but that only send to the person changing the state, I cant see an obvious way to send it to the priarybusinessobject "created by" user, how can I get this info and hook it into the workflow notification?

I'm looking to publish Creo drawings to PDF and DXF and publish parts/assemblies to CreoView and STEP... The documentation goes over how to sort by epm-type in the publishing rules but all the "CAD Documents" are of a single epm type. They are further sorted by document category (i.e. "CAD Part" or "Drawing") within the epm type of "CAD Document" but I can figure out if it's possible or not to sort by document category. Anyone been able to do this?Thanks!

Does anyone have the code to republish failed jobs in the publisher queues? There's no OOTB job to do that.

Looking for any ideas/suggestions if its possible to create a "Part Creation Task", similar to what is available in "Windchill Supplier Management", which we do not have available. We would like to have an approval of creation upon submission of "Open>New>New Part" with approve vote creating the WTPart and reject not creating the actual WTPart.

We are planning to use AWS for Windchill Cluster, any recommendation on EC2 Instance type which gives overall best performance for Windchill.

After restoring the production Oracle database to a dev/test server, I used to take the ou=people node from the production Ldap, delete the same node on the dev/test Ldap, and do an import with the Append box checked. Now that the Append function has been removed, I followed the new solution where I exported the dev/test Ldap to a copy of the production Ldap, then imported the merged Ldap to the dev/test Ldap. The error about the nodes not being unique is being caused by the merged Ldap. Not sure how to handle this merged situation. I want to create a SSRS report  that any user (Licensed or not) can run completely outside of the Windchill environment.   I was able to get the SQL I needed generated from the Windchill report builder.  It runs without issue in SSMS.  The only issue I have is that the Descriptions being entered in the change orders is now Rich Text Format (RTF) rather than plain text.  This appears to be stored in the following Table: pdmlink.WTChangeOrder2  in the following Field:formattedTextA8.  In SQL this is an example of what I see stored in formattedTextA8 which is VARCHAR(8000) DATA TYPE:rO0ABXQAPjxwPkluaXRpYWwgUmVsZWFzZSBTcGFyZXMgRHJhd2luZ3MgZm9yIEludGVybmF0aW9uYWwgU2FsZXM8L3A+. Hello,We are using Windchill 11 inclusive the Workgroup Manager in combination with Solidworks 2016.We have to upgrade to Windchill 12 and we have seen that Solidworks 2016 is dropped as supported application.(Solidworks support is starting at 2019)Because of customer requirements we have to continue with Solidworks 2016.Is there a way how to connect/register Solidworks 2016 to Windchill 12.Is there a workarround?I have tried to to use the export function, but than you need an Authoring application in this case with Windchill 12 starting At Solidworks 2019.The exported Soildworks files are, after the export, not anymore to open by Solidworks 2016. (It is recognized as newer version).
