Where are these strings being stored now, is there some new files I need to add to wtsafearea to preserve it in during CPS and upgrades?

Version: Windchill 12.0 Use Case: I have a task assigned to a role/group (Data Manager) where any user can complete it, and then later tasks in the workflow are assigned to the specific user (Assignee) that completed the earlier task... they took responsibility at the first and will now have to follow through.Description: I cannot find a java link between the wt.workflow.work.WfAssignedActivity (the "self" object in the workflow script) and the user completing it.  Currently I am using the wt.session.SessionHelper.manager.getPrincipal() for the task assigned to the Data Manager role and assigning that to the Assignee role for the future tasks (generally this works).  But in the case of a temporary calendar designation (or a quick test where I blast through the tasks as an admin), the Assignee becomes the actual user that did the task rather than the true user that was assigned it. i.e. Andy, Bob, and Carl all get Task 1 and whoever completes it is the sole assignee

Is WRR supposed to automatically convert a "lower level" part Environment to the top most Modeled Environment (unless changed, all lower level items inherit the next higher assembly model...which I would assume the environment as well)?This is real easy to test for EPRD parts:Load a single part in an assembly with a stated environment of AUF.Set the Top most assembly to Ground Fixed, and correct temp.Calculate.Same failure rate is summed to the topThe AUF part failure rate should be converted automatically for you when inserting an EPRD part...or at least that was my assumption. Otherwise, what's the benefit of being able to insert NPRD and EPRD parts? The tool provides a graph that allows one to graph failure rates over multiple environments and/or temp, so I'm assuming it has the typical conversion factors built into the tool. Please help/explain.

I want to get the latest revision at the "Released" state if one exists, otherwise get the latest revision. Is there a way to construct a filter to return the latest "Released" revision but if there are none, just return the latest revision regardless of its state?Description: I can filter by State/Value eq 'XXX', but I feel like I need to have a conditional in there saying if that state is not found for any revisions, return the latest revision.

When you use the Audit Log Purge Management on the Site --> Utilities page, what file does that purge?  Is it the access.log in the HTTPServer --> logs?  Just want to make sure what I am purging before I do.  If it is that file, that will be great because that file can grow very large.  Is there a performance hit when purging?Thanks!

This is working as users from the named Domain (lets call them Tea) can only see the Folders in the Tea domain and those in "coffee" can only see the coffee folders. We also have a café folder where both can see. That's great but they can search and find the documents in the other domain, they just can't see the folder. Is there an option to also apply a domain to a document?Description: User in Tea can only see the Tea folders and are not able to see Coffee folder or documents created within that folder.

As part of my Solidworks design, I want to insert a Creo managed file (part or assembly) into my Solidworks assembly. This could be for creating tooling or simply one engineer designed a part in in Creo and another needs that part in SWDescription: If I attempt to open the Creo file through the Workgroup Manager in Solidworks I get this error:Sep 28 20:07:31 Failed to open in SolidWorks 2023: 987-3811-025.prt. C:\Users\tpprimos\Documents\PTC Places\Workspace\987-3811-025.prt does not exist. If I attempt to select "Insert Components" from the Solidworks Assembly, the File browser only shows Solidworks files in my workspace,  It does not list any of the Creo files in my workspace.  Therefore I cannot select the Creo file. It seems like the only way to accomplish this is to Save a Back Up

Version: Windchill 12.0   Use Case: Our Windchill is currently configured so that engineers can revise objects outside of any change process. Typically each CAD model is related to a WTPart with an Owner link. Our rule (although not enforced in Windchill) is that CAD and WTPart must be revised together. We have the default collection set so that if the user starts a revise on the CAD model, the related WTPart is collected by default. Typically engineers use the default collection and everything stays in sync. Description: Recently, an engineer revised a CAD assembly and used the collector to add dependents. The related WTParts of the dependents were not collected. As a result, the new revision of many CAD objects was no longer linked to any WTPart. It took a significant effort to fix.   I assume a custom listener could be developed to run some validation during the revise action and block the revise of a CAD object if the related WTPart was not included in the revise action.
