Hello Everybody! Is there a way to convert Creo 9 part file to Creo 8 part file with model tree?
My company currently utilizes the Mathcad Prime conversion tool to convert Mathcad 15 files to Prime. We auto-generate .xmcd Mathcad 15 files by creating them as .XML text, and then convert them to Prime to open them in Mathcad Prime 9 since Mathcad 15 is no longer supported. Is there any plan to get rid of the Mathcad conversion tool in the future?? We really need to know if the conversion tool will eventually go away, as we would need to determine another way to auto-generate the Mathcad Prime files without going through the Mathcad 15 .XML files, then converting them to Prime.
Is it possible to set different thumbnail sizes for Model_3D parts and Drawing_2D drawings in Model Manager? At the moment I have thumbnails set in the Model Manager client preference page to be 1000 x 1000. This is a good size for 3d parts but makes very small 2d drawing thumbnails. If I make the thumbnail size bigger then the 3d thumbnails start to take up my entire screen when shown. Can I set them separately in a xml file or in some other customization file?
Hi, A new thing I seem to be running into: Bubble Numbers now have constraints. (When you drag them about, they now 'snap' to perpendicular, coincident, parallel, etc,,, and then have a constraint tag on them.. How to turn them off? and hopefully globally, not just individually.. (Remember, I jumped from Creo 3 to Creo 9..)
I am trying to draft a certain assembly where I have to show a particular component at two different locations. One in solid outline and another in phantom line. For that, I have been using same component twice in the assembly and making one of it display in phantom line with Component Display feature in the Drawing. Is there any workaround or feature that will help me show the same component at two different locations as described above without a duplicate part in the assembly? (Attached an image where you can see the piston has to be shown at two different locations. I achieved it by using two pistons in the same assembly. Is there a way to achieve it by using a single piston in the assembly?P.S: Simplified model for understanding)
As per the original post. could you convert this one to .sm? if it's not possible, at least for the .xmcd format. thank you!!
Hi, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation with Simulate on the attached model. It is an axial compensator. Material: Not linear but elastoplastic behavior The compensator is composed by two parts of 0.5 mm thickness in contact. So in addition to the behavior of the elastoplastic material, I have to evaluate the contact between the two parts. The model is fixed on one side and on the other side is applied a compression/traction, lateral and torsional displacement. There is also internal pressure. First of all, I have to do a static elastoplastic Simulation, than I have to evaluate fatigue analysis, heat exchanger from the inside fluid, modal and frequency analysis. Now the focus is on the static elastoplastic Simulation and I have a problem in order to have result in reasonable time. How would you create the mesh? How would you set up the simulation with the issue of time in mind? Do you suggest to use Ansys Simulation? Thanks
Hello, I have created the sheetmetal bracket with the standards holes and formed holes. Standard holes are created with sheetmetal Extruded cut option and Formed holes are created using Punch Form option. Now for the manufacturing requirement for punching and forming, i been asked to create a drawing with Hole Coordinates table for these holes and forms. So I have created the coordinate table using HOLE TABLE option in the drawing. But the problem here is, HOLE TABLE option doesn't show coordinates of Formed Holes - Refer attached image. it shows only extruded cut holes. also i tried creating the datum points on top of the formed holes to get the X and Y values of forms. It was working but it wont create the automatic callout next to forms. so it is the manual work to add the callouts which leads human mistake. is there any way to show the coordinates of formed holes using HOLE TABLE with right callout ? pls suggest

All, I am having repeated issues with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION bluescreens on a HP Fury G9 laptop here and Creo 7.0.8.0. It happens with graphical interactions such as snapping to view and section. I have tried the following, but it still happens constantly: - Creo re-installed - BIOS update - Graphics driver update - System update - System rebuild - Permissions checks - Fast start-up disabled Any help or ideas to solve this is greatly appreciated
Hi, Is it a "feature", a bug or there's a recipe setting that I don't know of which makes inset explode lines completely different to their "normal" page view when exported?Sorry about the colour choice but it's noticeable anyway. In the page view all lines look the same (like the ones on the left in the picture). But when exported the inset lines get much thinner and densely packed. Cheers,Tom
Hello community, I have a problem with the 2D symbols. Why do the 2D symbols on a predefined 3D page change their size when I zoom the model? This should not happen because the size of a symbol usually refers to the page size and not to the model size. I currently have the problem that I would like to show a floor. Since there are no auxiliary tools (?!), I have created the floor as a 2D symbol. Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to create a uniform representation of the floor because the size of the 2D floor keeps changing depending on the model zoom or the side zoom (where the model is also zoomed). This also applies to all other 2D symbols. Is this possibly due to the fact that the dpi for a 3D page cannot be preset, but is only selected when the image is exported? Does anyone have any idea how I could create a floor differently? I also have the problem that the inserted floor symbol creates a border. Why is that? To the attached picture
I cannot get the 30 day free trial to activate. I have gone through the activation process repeatedly and it does not work. No matter what I do the program does not recognize that a license has been activated.
As a Mathcad User if you happen to receive an error message "An Unhandled exception occurred on the dispatcher thread. See “C:\ProgramData\PTC\MathcadPrime\Logs\MathcadPrime_Exception_###.log" Than to address the problem, lets first understand the reason for this error followed by Resolution. Root Cause of Error: MathcadPrime.exe.config may have been corrupted User.config is corrupted for the user trying to launch Mathcad Prime Resolution: There are two resolutions to address the problem Resolution 1 - 1. Rename the file MathcadPrime.exe.Config to old_MathcadPrime.exe.Config in the default Mathcad Installation location "C:\Program Data\PTC\Mathcad Prime". 2. Rename the folder #PTC to old_PTC in the location " C:\Users\%username%\Appdata\Local" 3. Clear Temporary files on the Machine If the above instructions fail to resolve the issue, uninstall the application, reboot the machine and reinstall Mathcad
So i marked up a bunch of brackets in creoview. I discovered a few brackets floating in space as I forgot to bring in its supporting structure I also created groups for all my markups. I can't save the file with 2 files. I try to merge them and I lose all my notes and groups Why can't you just load as many PVZ's together and Save it as one file and keep all my markups and groups. I tried turning the groups into a shared type and was like oh cool it brought all my groups to my new PVZ... Oooh but they are all blank and didn't bring over the parts inside them... Well that was worthless. I shouldn't have to start from scratch to bring in a missing part. Even if it can't merge them.... It should be like Oooh I can remember where that second PVZ file loads from and say would you like to load secondary PVZ's from selected location and if not found let you browse or skip.
I am an adjunct professor and I'm using PTC Mathcad Prime 8.0.0.0 [Academic] I get a message when I start the program ""License expiring (full functionality - X days remaining). I can't locate instructions on how to renew my license. The chatbot is useless. Can someone helpme? Tom Jenkins
We're in testing phase of implementation of Creo 8.0.0.0. I created a family table of a consumable. In this case it's Loctite. The generic is created from our start part which contains three datums, csys and some designated parameters. There is no other geometry or features. Add our designated parameter of DESCRIPTION to the family table. The instance names are the Loctite grades, 242, 243, 262 with corresponding description. Verify and check-in to Windchill and all is well. Assemble the instances into the assembly item. Constrain the instance datums planes to the part where I want to callout Loctite. Model tree looks correct. Check into Windchill and WT and CAD structure looks right. Create drawing, BOM table looks correct. However, cannot show balloons for the Loctite instances as expected like any other component. Hum.. Scratch head. Figure balloons need something to
After I run a flow analysis on a part, (Creo 9.0) I am unable to open the part again. When I try to open the original part, I get a blank screen of the planes of the part, not the part as originally constructed. Please see below.Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.
In Mathcad 15, if you have equations scatter along the sheet you can highlight, go to format, and the select align regions from the drop menu. How do you do that in Mathcad prime 8 ?
I am working in CREO 8.0 and I am trying to show multiple theta point charts/ spline tables in a drawing for one part. When i create the theta point chart/spline table it only shows me the values for one of the splines. How do i get 2 separate tables for the 2 separate splines?
Hi, I want to use the Creo Simulation Live Probe value in Relations. Is it possible to convert Probe values into analysis features? Thanks

We have an additional request to display version information(Revision) of the drawing on the Creo View application Can someone please help me in getting the solutioning part? Thanks
Hi, we've just moved to Creo 9 (from 3) While I was hoping for improvements, I seem to be hitting "new & wonderful" head aches. issue today:simple, but annoying: in an assembly, I want to highlight the part. I used to just click it. But now, it seems to select some feature of the part (surface, edge, axis, etc..) and not the part itself. The work around seems to be to hold the 'ALT' key, then select the 'part'. I've tried to modify the options in the Options/Global/select, but that seems to create a new set of failures.. Seriously?! what changed?!
