Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hello,  I've a part with an intance (BRUT), and in the same drawing, I want two sheets. One with the final part, this other with intace.The weight of my part and this intance are different. But in my drawing I can't manage the different. Do you have a solution to manage it? Best regard,Luc

Hi there, My company updated to Creo 8.0.1.0 some weeks ago. Now it turns out, that the model check test "DEF_DENSITY" does not work anymore in Creo 8. In Creo 8 every part gets the default material "PTC_SYSTEM_MTRL_PROPS", which has the density of 1.0. The test DEF_DENSITY should check, if the density is 1.0, but the test passes. Since we use modelcheck as a gatekeeper for our windchill, there is a pretty chance, that the pdm-system gets filled up with neutron-star-like parts. Does someone knows a workaround?

Hello, I'm working in Creo Parametric 9.0.7.0. I have a model of a box with a door on it. I have two versions of the hinge for the door, one open and one closed (the only difference is an angle constraint that switches between 0 degrees and 180 degrees). I created an interchange assembly that maps all the pertinent geometry on one hinge to the other. I can replace these hinges and update my model and the door will open/close fine. I would like to have a simplified rep to be able to swap between open/closed configurations, but Creo doesn't seem to allow that unless I use a simplify interchange assembly rather than a functional interchange assembly. My problem is that the simplify assembly only does a cosmetic update rather than a functional update (it doesn't update the constraints). Is there any way to set up a simplified rep to switch between parts of an interchange assembly and have the constraints update in a top level assembly? Thanks,Matt

(I assume) many of us make tabs on sheet metal parts. it would be nice to be able to set the width of a tab, rather than rely on doing the math to set it's offsets from each side. To give the option to have a full length flat / flange, or to set its width & offset from an edge..  i.e.: I want a 3/4" tab, 2" from one edge of my part.  I have to do math to figure out what I need to offset from each side is to get this..  But, if my part changes width, the tab width then also changes by that amount..

Hello, I'm looking into UDF's and the possibility to use them to create variable assemblies and place these into a main assembly.  I would like to make 3 UDF to help me easier create a casing.1. A steel frame UDF where I can have some standard component corners and then some variable profile lengths. 2. A panel UDF where I can change the length and width of the panel and have the components inside change dimensions accordingly. 3. A door UDF where I also change the outside dimensions, but have some standard components, like a door handle. The idea is that I can create casing by first take a frame UDF, designate the size and place it in an assembly, then take panel UDF's one at a time, designate sizes and mate them into the assembly. And if needed, choose a door UDF, designate size, and then place it in the assembly.  I have worked a bit with the UDF function and I have access to the AdvAssem option in Creo 9, but I haven't had success in making t

Hello all. Long time Creo user and lurker of these forums. Currently on creo 9 with integrated simulate (not ansys) I have a model of a ball joint made out of 3 pieces of cast aluminium. I have designed an early version of a clamping bracket that i want to make from spring steel. One end of the bracket is fixed to the internals of the aluminium housing body for the ball joint, and the other end will rotate down and be pulled into position by a bolt and a barrel nut. In between these are some formed flanges that will contact and deflect on the ball joint faces as its tightened down. I know the angle of rotation i need to achieved in a prescribed rotational deflection i need to achieve to have this plate reach its final affixed position. I know there will be "large" deformation. However i cannot use the check box to interpret the rotation as radians...so how do i tell it to roate? The input box still says theta...do i put in degrees? arc length?the simulatio

Hello, so my problem is that i have a family table with three instances (A,B and generic). Depending on the choosen one, different Features in the lower parts should be activated or suppressed. So when i try to add a column with the Features, it wont let me choose them. I also tried it with Pro/Program but with no success. Hi,I have some problems with the file. I open 3d model and i want only check some in the features. I roll up line in the feature tree check information and close window with the 3d model. I don't want save this file in this shape so I don't click option "save as". When I try open again the same file I see model like I had before closing window. How can I set this to not save automatically after closing window?? I know that sometime is very useful option but I prefer have a control when the file is saved.  

Wanting to setup Creo 7, so that when we login and can use either metric or imperial.  I can do this by having a metric and an imperial start part, I think. But how do I go about it when I start a new drg, If I bring in a metric format, it will bring in our dtl file, but if I bring in an imperial format, it will be the same dtl file......do I have to create a metric and imperial config and setup a mapkey to switch between the two, when required ? Stuart

I was filter this feature using the type. now need to take that reference of the feature by C# code or any macro.

Is there a setting I can set in Creo to prompt me to update the drw file after modifying part and asm files? I know there is a value for the auto_drawing_update variable that causes an update. When you modify and save a part or asm file other than the variable values, the "Do you want to update related files?" message appears. A message appears. Where ist the default location of Creo Parametric while it´s connected to windchill?When i search it in Creo itself it shows me that path: wtws://XYZ/DEFAULT Creo/But this path cannot be found in the explorer. I am trying to find the local workspace in my explorer.

But when I generated results, the reconstructed shapes had an issue, the Align command for two different curves was not created. hey, i get this weird message in my Creo. i have no idea what caused it and i have no idea how to search for the feature which causes the 'break' also my model tree is half grayed out and i have no idea why. does anyone know the cause?  i have little experience with Creo and my company has very little technical support so forgive me if theres no enough information. 

Hello Again.  CREO Frustration week 10 - Just checking - is it really not possible to design "smart assemblies" were you can suppress parts/groups using parameters, unless I have access to PRO/program ?  I just happen to not access to this feature. Is it really not possible to do this using relations / parameters? Thanks in advance. 

Hello.  I am using Creo parametric 7.0.12 and Windchill, I am trying to make a copy of a drawing + part - keeping their association so I can re-name them as a new part number and make changes. However, the part I am trying to copy is an earlier version of the component in Windchill. so this is a level of complexity.  Our structure isabc.prtabcs.prt (this is the sheetmetal instance)abc.drw I want to rename them all to be dfg.prtdfgs.prt dfg.drw I have added to my workspace all the versions I would like to copy - both of the part and the drawing. But when I try to save as, I get an error!. Hello Team, I'm trying to use a Merge/inheritance feature for creating another assembly file for kinematic/dynamic simulation assembly, so when the base model is changed by another engineer, it's easy for me to update either by manual or automatic option in Merge/Inheritance. Now I create every model name_Kinematic for all the parts, it takes a lot of time for me. Hey,   I am trying to assemble a cylinder of wood that contains springs, the cover is flexible for movement as people will jump on it. Is it possible to assemble it the way I think on Creo ?
