I am looking at getting a new machine for large assemblies, cost is not important. Due to Creo being largely a single threaded program I want to get the Core i9 13900KS. My company has a contract with Dell (although there may be some wiggle room there). Unfortunately it appears that Dell doesn't sell the Core i9 13900KS with workstations. I am looking at a XPS machine that they sell but it has a NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 gaming card in it. Has anyone tried to run Creo with a gaming graphics card? Ideally I would like to be able to run Creo Simulate Live and it appears to me that this graphics card is not supported. Any other thoughts for those of you who have spec'ed out machines specifically for large assemblies?
This month’s challenge has a simulation theme. Many products have requirements regarding the ability to survive multiple drops from a given height. Your challenge is to simulate a drop test in Creo Parametric. Many people have a technique for simulating drops; if you don’t, how would you create one? You can use Creo Ansys Simulation, Creo Simulation Live, Creo Simulate, Mechanism Design Extension (MDX), Mechanism Dynamics Option (MDO), or any other module you see fit. You may use any model of your choice; a simple block will suffice if that’s all you have. You can drop your object from any height that you choose, although heights of 4 to 8 feet (approximately 1.25 to 2.5 meters) are common. You can choose any orientation for your object; please do not feel like you have to follow guidance of sources like MIL-STD-810 with multiple orientations and multiple simulated drops. You can choose whatever results that you want to convey, such as stress contour plots, displacement
Components have coincident constraint on the far side surface but yet show through on the other side, see attached. This is causing massive slow downs when zooming and/or rotating, I have updated the anti aliasing options as well as a few more config options but still cant get rid of hem completely. As soon as I hide the components causing this the assembly spins and zooms freely.... Any other config options that can be used? Creo 8/9/10
I am using Creo Parametric version 7. I am trying to rename one Co-ordinate as alphabet "A"(Upper Case) and in the same model tree i want to create one mote Co-ordinate and named as alphabet "a"(Smaller Case). Is there any way it can be done. Please guide me if anyone knows a process. But i have a requirement where i want to name coordinate in the same way.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 10.0 and Datecode10.0.2.0I need single package of creo with Parametric / Layout / Rander studio / simulate and also required help package.
Hello, I want to know if we can pause for keyboard input in mapkeys like we did in the link below but for the popup window that appears when we do File/Save as in order to change the name of the file.https://community.ptc.com/t5/Customization/Pause-for-keyboard-input-in-mapkeys/td-p/419676 My goal is to create a macro which transform an .asm file into an .iges file and pause in the middle of the macro to ask for the user's input to change the name of the file
Goodmorning to everyone, I use Creo 8.0.9.0 and I'm wondering how to create an animation based on a MDO analisys that has the "real time duration". If I set the time.duration of 10 seconds, I expect this duration will be respected when I make the video exportation; all of this means the mechanism has the real velocity. If the mechanism is simple, more or less the duration/velocity is respected; if the animation is a bit complicated, the "post-production" video will be longher. Is there the possibility to impose the video exportation duration?
I have my background color set to black. Within the background color setting I have enabled gradient which is set to an off-white color gradient in modelspace. This combination gives me a gradient background in model space and a black background in sketcher. This is exactly as I want it. I would like my drawings to come up in an off-white color. The drawing color currently follows the black background setting. Is there a way set a drawing background color independent of the model space background color and the sketcher background color?Thank you!
hello !when input red point xyz and surface ,out uv,then put uv to ProSurfaceXyzdataEval,Why do two points have the same value?my code:ProError EvalClosestPoint(ProPoint3d xyz,ProPoint3d xyzPnt) {ProUvParam uv;ProError status;status=ProSurfaceParamEval(m_owner, m_surf, xyz, uv);status= ProSurfaceXyzdataEval(m_surf, uv, xyzPnt, NULL, NULL, NULL);return status;}thank you!
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.6.0Tangent Lines are not visible when model display is set to wireframe or hidden line display style -When I view my models in wireframe or hidden, the tangent lines of a cylindrical feature are invisible.
We use shrinkwrap for welding, because merge does not work for features and a weld with the weld application is a feature in Creo. It works fine, however unlike merge you can not open base model from the model tree, instead you need to go to feature information, copy the number and open that number. Is it possible to make a mapkey to do that instead of manually do it all the time? Below is mapkey, but how to get rid of the hardcoded filename? mapkey foo ~ Select `main_dlg_cur` `PHTLeft.AssyTree` 1 `node2`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ RButtonArm `main_dlg_cur` `PHTLeft.AssyTree` `node2`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ PopupOver `main_dlg_cur` `PM_PHTLeft.AssyTree` 1 `PHTLeft.AssyTree`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Open `main_dlg_cur` `PM_PHTLeft.AssyTree`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Close `main_dlg_cur` `PM_PHTLeft.AssyTree`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Trail `MiniToolbar` `MiniToolbar` `UIT_TRANSLUCENT` `NEED_TO_CLOSE`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdInfoFeature@PopupMenuTree` ;~ Command `ProCmdM
I’m trying to use toolkit to delete .drw files under working directory. There is a situation when the model mounted to the drawing is missing, I can’t manage to delete the drw file with promdlnameretrieve() and Promdldelete(). Does anyone know any other method to delete a file from disk in toolkit, many thanks.
Is there a way in Creo Simulate to use a surface to create shell elements? This is not a midsurface shell compression. I created a simple "L" solid part with a surface extrusion. I thought the autoGEM control "hard surface" would achieve what I wanted. But it doesn't. Is there a different setting that will accomplish this? I've attached photos of the part and the part meshed.
I have always struggled with Creo when it comes to getting good millpaths. No matter what I try, it always seems like Creo defaults to pushing the cutter directly into the middle of the part (material fully surrounding the cutter) instead of slowly milling its way into the part from the outside in.I have dealt with this issue for many years now, and decided it's time to make a post here asking for help. As you can see in the video, it would be ideal to mill the outside first, allowing 2/3rds of the cutter in the material until it mills completely to the center.(view in My Videos)
Hello.I use CREO 10.0 parametric for the creation of large assmbly. (more than 800 parts and the 2D Drawing, Not simulation. only assembly and drawing. sometimes use AFX)I would like to know AMD graphic card compatibility with creo 10.0.Is compatibility good when using Radeon Pro W7600 or W6600? Or should I use Quadro?
I am running CREO 10.0 on a student license, and trying to create a .mfg model. But when I enter new model name and template the model window does not switch to the manufacturing model window. Does anyone know if this feature is not available with a student license, or am I doing something else wrong. thanks.
Hi, I want to compile a table with automatic calculations. In the figure attached, I want to plot in the cell the result of a quote divided by a constant number "2560". How can I do this? Can I recall in the cell the result of a relation obtained dividing the quote with the constant number? If yes, how I could write the relation recalling the quote? Best regards, Michele Barile
Proengineerstart returns ProError code -1 How to rectify it . ProEngineerstart has Two arguments among those one(proe_path) is executable that runs it and another is Prodev_text_path which i am unable to figure it out Can someone please explain what is that second argument is about and how to use it correctly.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.0.0ECAD context data couldn't be done interference check in Creo Parametric.
Hi I am doing analysis on a relatively large structure, and I would like to build the the model for Simulate using beam idealisations rather than native models. I know how to create an individual beam, but am looking guidance/tutorial on how to create an assembly, if possible using a mixture of idealised beams and 'physical' geometry. Thanks in advanceFrancis
My left side arrowhead disappeared after I added datum C to that true position tolerance. How do I bring that arrowhead back?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.6.0I am trying to add notes in 3d space under the annotations tab. I have done this before (I do this almost everyday) but for some reason, now, when I use the middle mouse button to set the location of the note, it cancels the operation altogether. This function is still available in 2d space and works just fine.
Creo 9.0.4.0 & windchill 12.1We are looking to convert our models from imperial to metric. We have legacy items dating back to at least Creo 2. There are 3 main segments of the company. @ of the 3 already use metric for modeling and drawing. One is still using imperial and would like to switch. In testing models/drawings made in Creo 9, it was discovered that if a dimension was manually added to a drawing (addxxx), the tolerances did not change when the Model Properties were converted. Also, GD&T does not appear to change. Part and drawing DTL files exist and are working fine, if the part was created and not converted. Aby ideas of how to convert they in bulk and not manually changing each dimension? Changing one drawing at a time is acceptable, but trying to avoid the need to change dimensions one by one.
Hello friends. In the drawing, I need to specify a detail, transparent and in fine lines. Creo is able to make the detail transparent, but the line style is dashed. I open the drawing.Layout > Component Display > Style > Picked View > OK.In the menu manager, I select the PhantomTrnsp style. As a result, I get a transparent display of the assembly part, but with a dotted line. How to adjust or change the default PhantomTrnsp line style to thin rather than dashed?
