Hi All, We were able to extract the X , Y and Z from the OVERALL_SIZE parameter values using relations. However, the extracted parameters are String Type, but we need them as Real Number data Type. Please could you suggest on how to extract the X , Y and Z Parameters as Real Number Type. Thanks
Hello community, I want to use VBA (Excel) to copy a generic drawing (in the Windchill workspace) and replace the model in that copy with a family instance. Basically the way you would do it manually: Generic Drw "save as", enter new name, call up copy, then "replace model", select family instance. But how can this be realized with VBA, if possible without mapkeys? If I do it with Mapkey, then I have to enter the file names manually too often! I use Creo 5.0 and Windchill.
when i go to make a extrusion and i want to make it, for example, 25mm + x_tolerance (let x_tolerance be any number) after the extrusion is created I can't adjust the length of 25mm, only x_tolerance in the relations tool.I can't open relations/dimensions when editing the extrusion and in dimensions its uneditable too. is there any way to edit the length or even delete the relation, otherwise i have to delete the entire extrusion.
Hello everyone, when i click on this icon to open "PTC Learning Connector" i get this error:I have made several attempts but without success. Can you tell me how to solve it?Thank youP.S. I am using creo 8.0.0.0
I need help with the following: In Creo, I want to export a rendered model as Graphics Language Transmission Format (glTF)for use in an html page. In addition, the model must be loaded in fixed position in the html page after which the user can rotate the object etc. etc.. How do I do that from Creo so with a fixed position?
Really simple..... or it should be .... and is very simple in every other program i have used. I want to save the current drawing as a temple for use with other drawings.I cant save a copy or the "default" model locks it. Its crazy its not just a simple export option .... like all other software?
Hello all,Need an idea to retrieve GD&T Feature Frame symbol from 3D Notes into MS-Word document. (Using VB API or J-Link)
I'm testing out Creo 9.0.4.0 and have ran into a problem with validating the drawing_name matches the first_model attached to the drawing. DRW_MODEL_NAME EQ FIRST_MODEL had functioned just fine in Creo 4 for us. The strange thing is the check still seems to work, but on every model check an error of FIRST_MODEL is not a legal function is thrown. If the names mismatch it ALSO lists that they don't match. Anyone seen anything like this?Note I've tried this with both the old UI and new. The screenshots reflect the old_UI
Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well, I need a small information regarding creo simulate. Is there any possibility that i can apply the loads on the mesh element? 1. Because after creating the mesh element, I would like to select the element to apply the loads unfortunately i cant select the element. 2. If i am applying two load cases, how to check the result of both the load cases.
I am using Creo Parametric Release 7.0 and Datecode7.0.11.0I created a VB API application to load a CREO file, then export to NEU. This works well a produces a Neutral export of the file. The problem is that the NEUTRAL export from the toolkit has no annotations. If I do the NEUTRAL export interactively it does have annotations. How can I make it so the toolkit export includes the annotations? This is the call that I am using :Dim instructions As IpfcNEUTRALFileExportInstructions = (New CCpfcNEUTRALFileExportInstructions).Create()modelFullPath = targetPath & "\" & Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(MyModel.FileName) & ".neu"MyModel.Export(modelFullPath, instructions)These are the things I tried so far:- instructions.Set_export_anno(True) (option not recognized)- setting the following entries in config.pro- intf3d_out_annotations yes (unsupported)- export_profiles_neutral def_profile.dep_neu (no effect on tookit results)- Pointing to "def_profile.dep_neu" from Options->Data Exc
Hi, I'm searching for a directory for milling clamping elements like vices, chucks and collets. Whithout the directory, the elements have to be saved in the corresponding working directory, which consumes a lot of storage space.I already tried to add "pro_mf_clamp_dir" in my config, but i guess this command only works for NC sheetmetal and not for milling. Software is Creo 8.0.5.0 Hope you can help me with this problem.Best regards,Simon
For some reason I am not getting an option to be allowed to delete this parameter (which I created like 3 minutes before). Creo can be awfully difficult in the way it handles options and I for the life of me cant figure it out after much googling and searching.Any idea what "I" am doing wrong?
We have made some changes to the Restricted_Parameter file and restarted Creo. It reads the new file but when we go to update the restricted list, Creo says the list is already up to date and no update is done. Has anyone else experienced this bug? I did a search of the knowledgebase and found this CS article, but it says no plans to fix in Creo 7, 8 or 9. Article - CS342973 - Restricted parameters do not update when select Tools and select Update Restriction Definition in Parameter Window in Creo Parametric (ptc.com) We are on Creo 7.0.10.0.
Is it possible to view PTC Common Name or any other user defined parameters within the Open dialogue box alongside the file names?
I am using Creo Parametric Release 4.0 and DatecodeM080Using Creo Parametric for CAD modeling. We are doing units with up to 28 modules, what would be the hardware requirements in terms of RAM?
Just had a perplexing experience where I sent some Creo relations code to a colleague, something simple, but it triggered a bunch of inexplicable error messages. The code was this: txtResult = “VALUE IS “ IF numFloating < 1.0 txtResult = txtResult + “0.” ELSE txtResult = txtResult + ITOS ( floor ( numFloating ) ) + “.” ENDIF txtResult = txtResult + EXTRACT ( ITOS ( 1000 * ( 1 + numFloating – floor ( numFloating ) ) ), 2, 3 ) I couldn't figure out what in the world was going on. It's the kind of code I use all the time. Turns out that when I e-mailed the text, Outlook, in it's annoying fashion, converted the quotes around the strings in the code to the two different quotes one would use if this text were being published in a book. If you look closely at the text, it is easy to see once you know it is there. What should have been "0." has been converted to “0.” which causes errors. Just a warning for anyone who is using relations,
Hi,I am looking for some learning material on CFD simulations on creo. Can someone help? Thanks!

Hello , How and how do I access the CREO + panel to manage licenses, etc.
PTC is pleased to announce the all-new Creo Community Challenge, a recurring event where we’ll post an open-ended challenge for you to solve using PTC's Creo. Feel free to collaborate with other users and their worksheets by attaching your worksheet to your posts here. Participants will also earn PTC Community Badges! About every six weeks, we’ll post a new thread with the challenge on one of the Creo community boards. You can post in that thread throughout the period with contributions. Around the middle of the next month, PTC and our affiliates will go through the contributions and create a resolution in the form of a ptc.com blog article discussing your interesting approaches to the problem. Then, we’ll post a new challenge at the start of the next month. Challenge #6 is live as of April 29th. Submissions will close on Friday, June 7th. Try out the Logo Design Challenge! I need to convert some files in solidworks 2D with .slddrw extensions to CREO. Is there any PTC program that can do this file conversion? Let's migrate everything to CREO now, I wanted a way to take everything solidworks to CREO
When I load a Direct Modeling part out of windchill anything ist ok regarding colors - same as in native direct modeling When I load an assembly out of windchill the colors of the included parts are gone/lost - I see only standard grey parts. How can I bring creo to show the songle part colors of these imported assemblies? Assembly nativ Direct Modeling Same Assembly loaded via Windchill into Creo
Does anyone know the reason why the centerline and coordinate system is greyed out in Creo Parametric 7.0?I'm still relatively new to Creo parametric, but creo does not let me use the centerline when I extrude a surface. As seen here the options are greyed out.I've even tried starting a new file but this issue still occurred. I've even tried reinstalling Creo but the problem remained. I've tried looking online for solutions but couldn't find any can anyone please help this is time sensitive since I need to finish this for a school project and I have no one to approach in school to fix this issue.
