Hi all, I would like to add note to drawing dimension in suffix using VB API. As per my understanding IpfcBaseDimension.Text can handle only model dimensions. But my requirement is to update 2d dimension Can somebody throw some light on this. Regards, ManjunathS
I hope someone can answer this. Are default datum planes/coordinate system required? I was taught waaay back when, that 0,0,0, (origin), defination was paramount. Coordinate system more-so than planes. Any feed back welcome.
I have read most of the articles from the PTC Community on circular references, but none of the typical solutions work.Like usual, the references keep the cabling harness I am working on from being checked in to Windchill. However, the Reference Viewer doesn't bring up any circular references. Furthermore, if I save a backup locally, no .crc file is generated. My only other option is to manually find out which ones are preventing the harness from being checked in, but as it's the complete harness for a construction vehicle, I am asking for any other possible solution I may not know about.
While using ProSelect() i am unable to select datum plane from creo parametric window. Help me out if any anyone has solutions to this problem.
Hello Creo Users,I have a couple of problems to solve: in my custom part template I currently insert manually the last-saved date of any part/assembly and the custom part number of any part model (local pre-set parameters of the custom part template). Is it possible to make the part template to: - update the date parameter after any saving action? - create, after the first saving action as example, the custom part number (so that it is unique, not already existing among the assembly)?Thank you for helping.Best regards Stefano
Hello. Would anybody, please, make a detailed description of the parameter link between parts? I want to assign the values of one part to the other, and by this, drive the second part (driven) by changing the dimensions of the first part (driving). For example, a plate of h=100mm and w=200mm, must drive another custom made plate, so that after the values of the first part (h and w) has been changed, the dimensions of the second plate changes accordingly. Best regards,Sergey
Is there any way to create a user defined parameter in the .asm file to capture quantities of parts then use that in a note?I know you can get the quantity from the BOM but in I need more detailed because we use a lot of parts and subassembly so the subassembly can be shown in the BOM but not as a note in order to show it in the selected sheet of each part from the subassembly. currently we put this note manually so we have a several of issues
I know how to measure the distance between two entities in Creo, but I would like to know the vector components: dx, dy, and dz. Can Creo do this? Thanks.
I am using Creo Parametric 6.0 6.0.6.0给客户配置了最新的许可文件,安装好之后,之前的许可可以正常使用,但后面使用后面新的许可的用户不能使用windchil。 陈工:13349928098邮箱:chenyiyang@ruijie.com.cn邮箱:lzy@xmhfty.com ------------------------------------ The latest license file is configured for the customer. After installation, the previous license can be used normally, but users who use the new license later cannot use windchill
Using Creo 5.0.4I cannot tell what the "Automatic reference creation from selected background geometry" option does. My interpretation to the Help Center page, with it off, you have to select a sketch tool, like Line, first in order to Alt+select a background entity to add it as a reference. With it on, you do not need to select a tool 1st. However, I can Alt+select and add entities as references by right clicking, regardless if it's toggled on or off. sketcher_auto_create_references is not in my config file, the default is no (off). So, what does "Automatic reference creation from selected background geometry" accomplish? For background, I am/was an advanced Solidworks user/administrator for the last 10 years and am now using Creo for a different company. I am about 3 wee
In an assembly I want to visit all the ProCsys with a certain name and then get there coordinates. I have tried several examples which use ProSolidCsysVisit(), including the ProUtilCollectSolidCsys() and ProUtilCsysFind() functions. I know how to get the coordinates with the ProSelection typ by selecting a Csys with ProSelect() but now I have to use the ProCsys typ. But I also think I am not using the functions ProUtilCollectSolidCsys() and ProUtilCsysFind() correctly because I don´t get a list of ProCsys, only one value. Can someone help me to understand this? There are also some things I didn´t find any explanation, like what is the "handle to the solid" or what does "PRO_TK_E_NOT_FOUND" mean? Thanks a lot!Tim
Is it possible to display thumbnails for PVZ files in Windows Explorer when only Creo View is installed locally? The Help Center says:You can view thumbnail images of files in the File Open dialog box, Creo Parametric browser, Model Tree, and Windows Explorer. ...but nothing is said about how this can be set up or what the requirements are.
We are considering migrating the following files from a network drive to a Windchill folder, but would first like to hear what the pros and cons of doing so. Obviously a pro of having in Windchill is back up and revision/state control. However what else have you found? .mtl Material files (pro_material_dir) .sym Symbol files (pro_symbol_dir) Currently, from the network drives, if either one of these file types are modified, and the Creo model opened again, neither will look at the new file as they are both saved with the model only and loose their connection to the original file. Does it work differently when using Windchill? Have you found any config options to help control this or for these files to work better using Windchill vs Network folders?
Hi,I am new to creo customization.I have to get specific face of solid by colour. If Anyone have solutions to this please help.Reference code if any one have.

Hello,I am new to creo customization. While creating sketch feature during ProFeatureWithOptionsRedefine() getting "General error".I am unable to solve the problem if anybody have solutions please help.If anyone have reference code please share.
I was "upgraded" from 4.0 to 7.0.5.0 one week ago and have run into an issue with creating drafts. PTC has added several features to the draft function to deal with rounds and chamfers. Now it does not work as expected. I created a square pocket, put chamfers in 2 corners and want to draft all sides independently. The default setting interprets the chamfer as seen in the left pocket. The right pocket was created by drawing the chamfers in the pocket sketch and drafts as expected. When I uncheck "Create round/chamfer geometry" the chamfers disappear as shown in second image. Is there anything I am missing or is this a BUG in Creo 7.0?
Hello - Does anyone know if there are existing libraries for the ifx extension for common plastic screws - thread formers and thread cutters? I'm also wondering if there are libraries for plastic molded-in inserts like these: SI® Molded-In Inserts – PennEngineering (pemnet.com) Thanks
Will Creo 8 run with LM version 11.14.1.2?We are in the process of upgrading servers, to be able to run newest Flexnet, but will Creo 8 features work with older LM?In all documents I can found it says 11.17.1.0 is recommended, but I cant found information will it run with 11.14.1.2
We're in the process of upgrading to Creo 7 from Creo 4, and when I open many of our models created in Creo 4, the Solidify features all fail. It appears to be struggling to assign the new solid to a body. If I create a dummy solid prior to the first Solidify, then I am able to access the "Body Options" tab in the Solidify tool and get it to work. However, the Solidify features below it all still fail. Is there a config setting I'm missing, or a way to disable the Multi-Body feature on legacy models created in prior versions?
I am using Creo Parametric 4.0 M080Same mechanism assembly showing different measure results when same simulation perform multiple times without any change in mechanism and simulation parameters. Same assembly tried on other system having same issue.
Hi folks, Please look at simple assembly flex_top_asm.asm. It contains one component flex_part2.prt. In part thre are defined: a) 3 dimensions as flexible (open file in new window, then File > Prepare > Model Properties > Flexible > Dimensions); b) 3 parameters as flexible (open file in new window, then File > Prepare > Model Properties > Flexible > Parameters); Based on PTC sample I've modified method, that should be started on asm level. As a result, component flex_part2.prt will be changed into flexible one, and in Varied Items table dimensions will be shown. Question is: How to do it with parameters. How to add them to Varied Items table?? Sample code:. public static void makeFlexibleComponent(int componentID) { ComponentFeat CFeat = null;WComponentFeat WCFeat = null; try {FileWriter file = new FileWriter("AssemblyItemExample.txt");BufferedWriter fp_out_asmitem = new BufferedWriter(file); fp_o

I have an existing BOM table that has this in it as a repeat region relation: IF asm_mbr_type == "BULK ITEM"quantity = "AR"ELSEquantity = rpt_qtyENDIF I am now trying to create a new BOM table that is formatted differently and when I cut and paste the relations from the existing table into the new table, it gives me errors. IF asm_mbr_type == "BULK ITEM"errorInvalid symbol 'asm_mbr_type' found.quantity = "AR"ELSEquantity = rpt_qtyerrorInvalid symbol 'rpt_qty' found.ENDIF Very confusing as to what Creo is doing. I have both the old and the new table in the same drawing. Old table puts AR in the QTY column, new table fails to verify and won't do anything. I had some issues trying this with Creo 4 M080 and now I am on Creo 7.0.5.0 and seeing the same error. Does anyone have an idea what I am missing?
