Creo+ and Creo Parametric

I am using Creo Parametric Release 12.4 and Datecode12.4.0.0Hi,For an internal task I’m working on, I need to export an assembly from Creo and save it as a Wavefront (.obj) file.The assembly contains a reference part and multiple instances of that same part positioned differently. When exporting to .obj and opening the file, I’d like to rename these objects and have them appear in a specific order. However, I’m running into an issue where each part is saved with generic names like “Facet Feature id 41,” which prevents me from organizing them properly.Does Creo provide any way to assign custom names and control the export order when generating an .obj file? If not, once the .obj is exported, is it possible to edit the file afterward to apply the naming and ordering changes I need?Please let me know.

In any drawing which contains holes normally (written manually (2x) M12)   How can i make the number of holes should be automatically generated ?

Hi everyone and happy new year,    I've started the Simulation Live trial program and while following the introduction course, i'm running into a strange issue : results stays at zero for any restriction/load i might try. In the information message area, i'm getting this message : The material library is not available in the current working directory or the application data folder. I've commented my usual pro_material_dir option to make sure i'm using OOTB material library. I've also tried to copy the library or the applied material file in the working directory without success.   Thanks for any help on that topic.    

I have configured my model tree with some columns and sometimes it is hard to see if the part that I clicked is in the same line of the information displayed on a distant column, so it'd be nice to have an option to add horizontal lines between columns in Creo. I will put an image to clarify what I am saying.

Does anybody know if it is possible to also export sketches or cosmetics into a STEP file?I've tried several settings but it doesn't work. I've tried also ap214 and ap242 with "Datum", "Quilts", "Facets" and "Hidden entities" all checked but the export doesn't contain any of my Sketches, projected sketches, curves, or other 2D entities. This would be nice because we can then use it for laser engraving on our laser cutting machine. Now we are using a small cutout and then in the laser cutting software someone is converting this cutting into a single line again.

Hello Experts,I am looking for some information regarding the Creo toolkit license. I have below queries.1. Creo took kit license comes with Creo default license?2.In short say if we have Creo licenses so does this Creo tool kit license we need to purchase separately? 3.If that is the case, then which exact bundle we have purchase to have Creo toll kit development access?  

I am using Creo Parametric Release 11.0 and Datecode11.0.5.0Creo Parametric 11.0.5 appears to have a horrible memory leak. Is this a known issue? SI anyone else seeing this?

How can i use two different tolerance value by using family table relations?

hollowish tubeI use this software called TubeWorks to unbend tubes with features in them for laser cutting. The problem is the step file TubeWorks creates is mostly hollow, has no ends, and has several quilts. (see attached picture) I've tried merging the quilts and solidifying but it still comes out with multiple surfaces. Any ideas on how to turn this part into one solid piece without losing the holes? I'm using creo version 9.0.5.0.

Hello everyone, I’m using Creo 8.0.9 and I need to create a sticker adapted to the surface, but for that I’m using a decal.When the sticker is flat, applying the decal is easy, but when it’s curved, it becomes very difficult.Is there a better method?Or is there any parameter in the planar mode that can be set to automatically adapt to all surfaces?the surface its a extrude on a spinal bend

I have a drawing where I've added additional rows to the revision block (1 per revision) and filled out the information. I save the drawing and check it in but the text doesn't show up. If I add this drawing to a new workspace, the text I added isn't visible but if I click on each cell in the table row the text is in fact there. All I have to do is click it and select OK for it to become visible again but then on check in it becomes invisible. As a result, the published drawing doesn't show this information.  This is the only drawing like this... I verified that all the properties are the same as the row that is visible (row for rev A).    Making the text show up on my drawing and checking it doesn't seem to persist.   

Hi, I'm looking for compatible versions of Visual Studio to customise Creo Parametric 12.4.2.0. Is it okay to use Microsoft Visual Studio 2026 (available as latest version) or safer to go for previous versions? Thanks.

Creo 10.0.6 I'm trying to set Detail Option config default_ansi_ord_dim_aligned to no in a drawing but the OK and Apply are greyed out. Tried both in part and drawing with same OK/Apply greyed out result. Drawing and part are checked out. Config ord_dim_standard is set to std_ansi. I can change other config options and OK/Apply are available. Seems like something simple I'm overlooking.

Hi all 🙂 in C9, compared to c4 that I'm used to, dimension witness line has selection priority over everything else.I.E:  auto - added angular dimension is exactly where the sketched line ends, and when trying to select line endpoint, I have to be aware of not selecting the dimension, if i need to drag the geometry. Else, when I try to drag geometry, but with this blue dot selected it drags the dimension and locks it as user modified.This is more than disturbing, as the dimensions at random have this "blue dot" drag point exactly where geometry ends, and i did not found a use case for selecting such witness line instead of dragging the dimension text/ value itself.question is, does config option to erase these dots exist? or to change this priority back to geometry ? so I don't have to mess with selection of the witness lines instead geometry?Thanks, cheers 🙂 

Hello everybody!My company has just acquired Creo Parametric and it needs to develop add-on extensions to it. From the other hand, we have tons of useful C# code that we we want to reutilize.I just started to design the extension and my plan was to implement a 3-tier architecture consisting from the following layers:- DLL client build with Creo Object Toolkit C++, which may be registered as extension to Parametric.exe- Middleware build with C++/CLI which will allow client/server interop- C# libraries consumedUnfortunately, my trials so far to make server DLL extension dependent on the middleware class brought to the Parametric crashes.I'm absolute newbie to the Parametric programming so I would like to start this first post with some general questions.Do anyone has the experience with the using C# code from Parametric?Is the direction I tried makes sense with Parametric?If yes, what may be the causes for crash? (I will share code files as necessary)If not, what are the advised directio

I'd like to access, through code/programmatically a *.prt model's Annotations (e.g. Symbols, Datums, Notes, Dimensions). These would be the objects that are, in PTC Creo 10.x, in the model tree -> Design Items > Anotations. Is this possible through the base license of Creo (i.e. in Visual Basic)? The annotation objects seem like they might be accessible through details (drawings), but I cannot find their equivalents in the Model/PRT file. Could someone point me in the right direction?

I'm trying to understand what I can do to make cable harness take up less memory.See screenshots below.  I have about 12 cables made of 16 wires in a relatively simple assembly and the file size for the cable assembly and harness total 430mB (215mB each).  This is so large it takes minutes to save and regenerate.  All of the cable locations referenced to datums in the assembly and not some higher level assembly.  Each cable has maybe 2-3 plane or datum point-based locations based on assembly references.To me this should be taking up 10mB max.  What could it possibly be doing with all this memory?We're on windows 11, creo 8.0.0.0.    

Hi everyone,I'm working in Simulation (Analyses and Studies) within the Structural module in PTC Creo, and I’ve run into an issue: I can’t save result images in high-quality formats like PNG or TIFF.In this section, Creo only lets me save images in lower-quality formats, and I’d like to avoid using screenshots or the snipping tool because the resolution becomes quite poor.Does anyone know if there’s a way to export result images with the same quality as when PNG/TIFF saving is available?Maybe a setting, a workaround, or something I might be missing? I’m also attaching two images to show the issue:The first image is taken in Simulate (before entering Analyses and Studies) and the quality is great.The second image is taken inside Analyses and Studies, and the quality is noticeably lower, which is the problem I’m trying to solve.

I've got some issue using mechanism. I have this little subsystem that's supposed to go up and down to lift up the tray from the conveyor.When I work on this subassembly as we can this the movement is correct and 2 body are highlithed. The static body (in light blue on the first screen) is dirrectly link to the main origin of the subassembly. However when I import this in the main assembly making the subassembly origine fixed in the main assembly, in somehow the subassembly became one single rigid body. As we can see on the second screen there is only 1 body highlighted including the tray and the mooving part.Furthemore when we look at the mechanism tree, on the second screen there is actually a second body but it only includs origins.

Another day and another CREO issue 🙂 So, I'm starting to get into detailing parts in CREO 10. Just to clarify - I have used NX and SolidWorks before and never ran into this issue. I wanted to dimension the part attached and use Bolt Circles for the two different holes. I tried using "Show Model Dims" and bring in the axis and dims. Well one feature was created using a circular pattern - and the other was two separate features (I did not create this model). I figured out how to display a circular centerline by changing drafting settings - but when I brought the dimension in it was a Radius. There was no way for me to change this to a Diameter. So, I decided to create my own sketches in the view and decided to just dimension to this directly. I'm sure people will say, "That's not how CREO works - you create in model and then bring in the model features/dims" Sure - but when it doesn't show what you actually want - I want to have other options/features to present the dimension

Hi,Something im not sure if its even possible, looking to have a set of predefined hole patterns to replicate SAE flange tapping details on manifolds.Currently we just use a chart based on ISO6162-1 & ISO6162-2Would be handy to have this a feature where the hole size, drilling depth, & tapping depth, as well as sketch pattern width & length are predefined.  

Good evening,I just wanted to download the student version of Creo 10, this also worked at the beginning. But now I have the trail version and not like my classmates the student version. Can I upgrade this in Creo or do I have to download creo again? If so, what do I have to do differently to not download the trail version. With kind regards  

Hi @SweetPeasHub @skunks . Thanks for the explanation in this topic attached. For a guy wire in tension, I have defined a beam element using a series of points just as you have showed but the issue that I am facing is these tiny elements of the beams do not seem to be in contact for some reason and the prestress analysis for wires in tension fails. I had defined a rigid link between all these points that make up the beam. Is there any better / correct approach to constrain these tiny beam elements to stay connected? Please guide.
