I want to change the display of all dimensions in a previously built model to 3 decimal places in part mode. PTC support documents the following steps to do this. I follow until step 6. Where is there a format tab and column in part mode? Menu mapper is not finding it and doc search is not fruitful. Can anyone elaborate on step 6 below? In Creo Parametric 3.0 and later versions: Ctrl+F or Tools > Find Set Look for and Look by to Dimension Click Find Now Click in the items found area and click Ctrl+A to select all dimensions Click the arrows icon to transfer items from items found to the Items Selected section of the Search Tool dialog box > Click Close Change the Decimal Places value as desired in Format column in Format tab
I tried to create mapkeys allow me to automatically creating Ballons from table with 3 repeat regions. I recorded action: (Create Balloons - All -> Select a region) x3 (every time chosing diffrent region of the table). When I run mapkey it's asking me to chose 3 regions then balloons apear. I would like to mapkey automatically chosing those three recorded regions instead of asking me to select a 3 regions all over again. Can I create mapkey which remembers my selection of regions?
Looking for a way to add multiple models to a drawing at once. I'm detailing an assembly with 75+ parts (primarily sheet metal) and I'll have to detail the whole assembly and each part in one drawing package, so I will have the assembly + all 75 of the models in one drawing. Is there a faster way than individually adding ALL 75+ models to the drawing? Is there a way to make a macro? A built in feature?
I have a need to export a flattened harness to a step or iges file and can't quite get it to work. I am on Creo 4.0. When I bring up the manufacturing file there is an export button in the file-->save as menu but it doesn't do anything so I tried just file-->save as. With save as I can get a step or iges file but in both cases the bundles don't show up in the resulting files. If I check export cable surface in the export options I get thin lines between components and a lot of big looped curves. Anyone have any ideas on how to export a flat harness assembly?
Hello, can somebody guide me how to use otk_java_free . and how to set it up? i have code written but dont know how to use that. your help will really appriciated. Thanks

Hi there, I'm Steven. this is the very first post on the communuty. My creo version is 7.0. I tried to import the dxf/dwg file when i sketch. A window will show up to warn there is too much entity in the file you are going to import. It ask you whether to select certain entities to import but not all of them. Then, a sub window will pop out, and there is no entity showing on that window. You can see them only by choosing them. I tried this on 4.0, and it works perfectly. I encounter this only on 6.0/7.0 Do you guys come to this before? Thank you. # tag or keyword for others can reach this issue" you are attempting to import too many entities into Sketcher there is no entity showing subwindow select entities you wish to be imported #
I am using Creo Parametric 5.0 5.0.4.0I'm trying to remove material ina rotating sketch.Applies at 4 microns, but not at 3 microns.I don't know the cause. Is there a way to define it below 3 microns?
Is it possible to concatenate / combine the bulk item Qty with its unit as 1 parameter using relation in repeat region? I would like to display the cell value as "BOM_Report_Quantity" + "Unit" Instead of 0.040 in the image below, i would like it to show as 0.040 g or 0.040 m depending on what unit user defined... My attempt so far: I had tried to use the following relation bomqty=Y+asm_mbr_ptc_unit_bom_report_quantity Y is the rpt_qty converted into string. I could convert the rpt_qty to string (Y) but I am NOT able to concatenate it with the bom_report_quantity unit... It seem that &asm_mbr_ptc_unit_bom_report_quantity could not be display properly? Note: I do not want to create an additional parameter or column just for the unit if possible.
Sometime recently, maybe a week or 2 ago, Creo 4 (M130) started taking a long time for the file open dialog box to come up. I've timed it, turns out its about a minute, plus/minus a few seconds. I had been ignoring the problem thinking it was a large workspace issue until I got fed up with it this morning and started troubleshooting the issue. So far I have: deleted my PDMLink workspaces and deleted the .wf file...didn't improve performance Made a workspace with only one item ...didn't improve performance Went offline from pdmlink...didn't improve performance cleaned out my working directory ...didn't improve performance check hard drive space (250 gb available on a 500gb drive ...didn't improve performance removed all my config.pro/config.sup files from loading...didn't improve performance compared my server ping speed to another user without issue with seemingly identical results (+/- a millisecond) checked my std.out file and cleaned up all the errors in there (config.pro erro
Hi,Can we hide only a feature, eg ( a revolved hole in an exploded view in a shaft in an new representation.)because in simple rep it allows only part not feature.plz help meRegardsKabilan S
Hi I have ModelCheck set up like this that it prompts to replace an old relation for a sheet metal model in interactive modus. But this is not happening when regenerating the model. Although all is set correctly for allowing this. Is there something I am overlooking ?
I was told that windchill will update old drawings if the drawing template is updated. I can't believe somebody would think that was a good idea but I'm always surprised. I don't think it would be since I can edit the title block without the template being checked out.
We want to start making use of Publish geometry and Merge / Inheritance features in Creo, but there is very little information about what type of relationships this creates in Windchill. We have had many problems in the past with extenal references causing many unwanted items to be collected when we initiate workflows. I can see that copying published geometry into a part creates different types of references depending on whether you have update control set to 'Automatic' or 'Manual' 'Manual' creates a reference type 'Default' 'Automatic' creates a reference type 'Relation Reference' But I cant find any documentation about these types of relation We currently use a very crazy method of using family tables to create left and and right hand versions of parts where we create all the variant geometry in the generic and then turn it on and off in the respective instances, it is very robust because instances and generics can be found very easily from within Creo a
Hi, Needing to flatten a belleville or cup washer. The one in in the image below was created with a revolved sheet metal wall. I'm trying to create an installed state of the part. Any ideas as to what I can do to flatten the part? Thanks for any help you can provide! Don A
Im trying to extrude up to this inner Surface with a certain amount of clearence. Untill now im only getting it extruded up to the nearest Surface. Normally i would select the Surface i want to extrude to and set an offset, this doenst work here somehow. If i try do choose the Surfaces i only can select one. If i try to select "extrude to the nearest surface" in both directions it doesnt work either. If i split it into 2 seperate extrudes it works, meaning extrude one side first and create another one for the second side. Hope someone can help me.
I am using Creo Parametric 3.0 M150I would like to understand the meaning of the Creo Feature configuration in the attached license file ("lm_101075560.txt").All users are using the same version of Creo: Creo 3 M150.The "LicenseSaturation.pdf" file shows the usage of the Feature and you can see that some Features are saturated.I'll show you my questions.1. What are the basic features that allow you to use Creo? Maybe they are PROE_EngineerIIAAX and PROE_EngineerIII?2. What are the Creo conditions use that require the most commonly used features?Feature 48: WiringFeature 231: Advanced FrameworkFeature 282: Legacy Data Migration3. What is the relationship between the use of PROE_EngineerIII-PROE_EngineerIIAAX and the use of 48-231-282?4. Is it possible to convert the Feature PROE_EngineerIIAAX (little used) to Feature PROE_EngineerIII (widely used)? Thanks.PS: sorry for my English. I prefer speak in italian or write in italian or english

Can a component be hidden in a detail view? (I understand you can only do father views)
In Relation we can access to some parameters of Mechanism features like friction in Connection (see pictures) but not for Cams, 3D Contact, Gears & Belt parameters, is there a work around? Could it be added in a futur release of Creo
Hey all with most of us working from home these days, we find it a pain to have to VPN onto our server just to get a license - our files are stored in the cloud... Does PTC offer a service or can we install our subscrition licenses on a cloud server? Thanks
We are rolling out Creo 7 in a couple of weeks and I am wondering if anyone else has come across any bugs while testing. Ones I have found so far (7.0.2.0): 1. Assembly axial grouped patterns don't update upon regen if the parent axis moves. If you perform an edit definition the pattern updates correctly. 2. Tables saved as text files no longer have iteration numbers (.1, .2) although system log files and other saved text files do. 3. MP_Source was removed from the mass report when mp_calc_level all_models is set 4. Various model annotations get dropped when exporting to step and then reimporting into Creo. Some of these are a result of Creo supporting flat to screen for annotations but the step format not (although you would think that if you are writing them out you could import them back in with the same software). Others, I think are just bugs. SPRs have been opened.
