Creo+ and Creo Parametric

Hi,   I'd like to assign hotkeys in Creo 7.0.0., but somehow it doesn't work.   I did the following:   1. Click File > Options to open the dialog box. 2. Under Customize, select the customization page for which you want to assign keyboard shortcuts. 3. Under the Shortcut column, click the cell. Enter the shortcut key in the cell.     When I click the cell, nothing happens and Creo doesn't let me put the shortcut in. Maybe somebody has an idea, why I can't type anything in the cells ?   Thanks,

To all, One can create graphs in post-processing say stress along an edge. Is it possible to “save” the edges making up the curve for easy re-use? In some FE pre/post tools one can combine edges and give a name (say “EdgeOfInterest”) so that one can select the name (rather than edges) every time.

I cannot see how to limit the height of the retract in a peck cycle so that once the drill has reached depth of say two diameters, it does not retract higher than the top of the work-piece - idea is to prevent coolant from washing chips into the hole. If you think this idea is crazy, it won't hurt my feeling if you write it.

to all,   1. Is there a way of outputting results (say stress) for a only a volume in my (test) model? Say I have 2 volumes (attached/bonded) but I only want the results for 1 volume (i.e 1 mesh). Can one do that?   2. I see in the post-processing window there is the 'Display location' and the drop down menu allows selection of volumes. How does one defines these volumes?   Thanks Regards

Hello   We are looking for to have all the user defined simp rep for an assembly. For this purpose, we used API ProSolidSimprepVisit() to collect all sim rep and using API ProSimprepTypeGet() to filter concerned rep with PRO_SIMPREP_USER_DEFINED.   We are facing issue and could observe that  "DEFAULT REP" is listed as user defined rep.... Could anyone help on this as API we are using is not helping us due to default rep suggested as user defined rep.   p.s. : default rep is only rep which has negative id out of all the rep we are getting post filteration.

Does anyone know which eigensolver is used by Simulate? I can't find anything in the doc on the matter/subject.

Hello everyone,   I'm running Creo Parametric 4.0 and I have an assembly that's 5-7 parts. I have noticed something when it and larger assemblies open. The message log shows:   Performing analysis........... xx% Refining analysis............... xx%   What is this analysis and why does it need to be performed?? I don't remember ever asking it to run an analysis when I open assemblies, and it seriously slows load times. Is there an option that is mistakenly left on?

Hi   I need to have the flat state placed flat on the drawing, for the lasercutter. Is there a way to do this? I'm thinking, create a saved orientation and use this on the drawing. I doesn't matter how the part is oriented, just it is flat.   Allan

Hi,   In order to limit the number of individual components and separate dimension changes in a CAD model, I decided to model all components as separate bodies within the same file. This allowed for easier relations alteration and referencing between bodies (eg. remove intersected body, add hole through all intersected geometries, etc). Once all the component were finished, individual parts could be generated for dimensioning and assembly purposes using the "Create part from body" feature.   Currently,  I am unable to see any reference axis or points when I go to dimension the individual part. "Annotate<Show Model Annotations" does not bring back any dimensions or reference points (No annotations can be shown in the current sheet/view for the selected objects). I am not sure if this is related to how the body was created or what the implications of copying external geometries features may do when trying to dimension a component - by all expectations I expected this to

Creo Parametric 3.0   I have a "shape" inside of a sketch that also contains other shapes. The shape in question has 6 different sides. No matter which order I choose I can only delete 4 of the lines. Two of the lines (the last two left) cannot be deleted. One time its the upper left two corner lines, next time I try it's the bottom two in the lower right corner, next time I try I'm left with the bottom most line and top most line. IT IS NOT THE SAME LINES EVERY TIME.   When I get to the last two I get "Invalid Selection, try again" I've tried the DEL key, RMB -> Delete NOTHING WORKS. I am about ready to put my fist through my monitors!!   I'm pissed, this is BFS!!!   Please help!  

Hi,  In order to add Dia symbol or parenthesis, usually i used to right click and get in to properties. now i am not able to see properties in the right click. also unable to click dimension text which will bring pop up.does any one has similar experience? all the drawing i am facing same issue? 

Has anyone explored moving creo's cache to onedrive? I have tried it and it seems to work, but I am curious if anyone else has done that yet?  Thanks in advance! 

Hi,I'm creating a simple model in which there's a couple of the same cut extrudes, as follows:             Now, I've achieved this by creating one extrude, creating rounds on it, mirrorring this extrude, and mirroring the extrude and the mirror of the first extrude which is... a little complex design intent and makes a model tree hard to read.               This is horribly unreadable if you ask me... I'd love to make a Pattern from extrude, but by using Axis Pattern I got something like this:...which is huge different than part in the first image. I thought about creating all mirrors inside sketch and then extruding (cuting) all 4 shapes in one operation (Extrude) but I'd really like to make it with Pattern if possible.What do you think? What is the best way and most healthy practice to achieve this?Thank you in advance for all answers!

Hi, I am trying to work with CREO Object Toolkit Java, there are few sample apps such as "InstallTest" and a User Guide, I followed the User Guide but still unable to run java apps, I get this error when starting any auxiliary application, "Startup of application failed".  My version is 7.0. I want to check the frequency of license usage on the server.To confirm in ptclmgrd.log, I would like to know the information of a long period of time and exactly.I would like to check the license, usage frequency on a year, 1 month, and 1 week.ptcstatus.bat can check the current usage, but you can not know the usage information for a certain period of time.The Performance Advisor - System Dashboard feature allows you to know the connection status, but you can not know which license is used.   Is there a way to do that feature?Except for items that need to purchase a separate program.

Hello everyone, in our company we have a separate catalogue for standard parts like screws etc. Most of them are generated with Family tables (Example: M10 Screw --> Family Table for all different lengths). If we want to insert for example screws, we must download them manually from the server. Is there a possibility to have those tables directly implemented in Creo, like the Tables for the threads? Btw we don't use Windchill.   Do you use a similar system for standard parts or something different?  Have a nice day

You can import external CAD data from Creo.However, when the name of the external CAD data is more than 31 characters,There is an inconvenience that must be modified individually.Is there a way to change it within 31 characters in bulk?Or are there a possibility that the function will be added in the future?

Hello all   We have Creo 4.0 M130 and working on toolkit side.   I am aware that direct api which visits / collects all items in simp rep for assembly is not visiting all the items.... Items must be set as Either master or Exclude (only these two options) for api to work perfectly...   Concern is that designers set derived status as well for components of assembly for simp rep.... In this case , we obviously miss status of items which must be ignored or considered as item of simp rep.... Is there a way to achieve all the items which are active for a simp rep even though it might be set as excluded or master rep or derive status?   Feel free to ask for clarification if question is not clear.. thanks in advance...!    

Hi everyboby, I use gravity sketch on my oculus to create form, and export an OBJ file with the mesh. After, i want to convert this obj file to a solid in creo 5. I open the obj file, and export it to a shrinkwrap. and when it calculate, no surfaces is create. I don't know why sometime it work, and sometime doesn't.

Hi, I have Logitech MX Master 3 mouse which in addition to 3 standard buttons (2 clicks and scroll) also has 3 macro buttons and roller (the other scroll). I'd like to assign these hotkeys to specific Creo features but the most important for me is to assign particular hotkey to the Creo "Windows" feature (in order to navigate between Creo tabs by mouse click). Is it possible to achieve this in Creo Parametric 6.0? Thank you in advance for each answer!

Hello, I am trying to document an existing oil tank in Creo to manufacture a new on with some modifications.  The existing tank is fabricated from two pieces of aluminum welded together with no compound curves.  Neither piece is stretched or shrunk, they just have equal perimeters and are welded together. I templated the existing tank surfaces manually (posterboard), scanned them, and traced them in 2-d cad to generate the shapes of the existing tank.  I built one with posterboard, and it works as far as replicating the existing tank.  To make the new tank I want to have Creo models for visualization and fabrication. What is the easiest way to attack this in Creo?  I have never started with a flat part and worked into a formed part, always the other way around.  I have roughly solid modeled the part and converted to sheet metal (shell, .050" thick), but it does not like it when I try to flatten it.  All of my sheet metal design has been straight

Hello all, Thanks for looking into my problem. I noted this while working with flange. Image "1" is a simple planar and then i created a flange(refer to image "2"), which is a flange wall. Then when i add another flange to both the walls (refer to image "3"), the flanges are connecting in some area. I've marked that area in black.  I cannot remove it using miter tab and the edge treatment tab is greyed out. Please help me out Thanks in advance

Hello;      I'm trying to insert a flow chart that didn't come in when imported a dxf into a Creo drawing. If I try object, create from file, I get just Ole Ebbedded over a small rectangle that says FlowChart-NC.bmp. I think the answer is through the object create new, but then I'm not sure how to create the flow chart image on the spot. Anyway any help is greatly appreciated, in that I'm a SolidWorks user, just trying for the end game of out putting a CGM file.   Thanks, in advance for any input. Rob_D
