Title pretty much sums it up. Trying to pull the text from one drafting note and use it elsewhere. Technically in a table cell, but keep it related. Using 9.0.6.0
Hello everyone,I've been working as a working student with Creo for quite some time now, so I decided to use it for a university project. Therefore, I downloaded the Creo Parametric Student 10.0 version and I'm on the verge of despair because I can't seem to find or insert a drawing template frame.Unfortunately, the download didn't come with any frames or title blocks, and after intensive internet research, I still couldn't find any. I've already gone through all the relevant posts here as well. Can someone help me and provide an A2 or A3 frame for this version? I've already manually created the title block according to ISO standards, but I can't find the exact data for creating the frame with letters, etc.I would be extremely grateful for any help!!!
Hello PTC community,I'm trying to simulate the stress that results at the mounting points when an object is suspended by a crane using only two points. The stress is caused solely by gravity.I tried to simulate this by rigidly constraining the mounting points of the object, but I'm concerned that the simulated stresses will be significantly lower than in reality due to the rigid constraint. The center of gravity (COG) of the object is naturally located directly below the mounting points. Would it be better to ditch the gravitational load and instead apply a calculated force (F = m·g) directly to the bolt holes? If so, how should I constrain the model? Nothing seems to be working for me. I have attached a simplified sketch of the problem. Thanks for your help!
I am working with a C++ Toolkit program on Creo 10.0.5.0 that recursively searches through an assembly's parameters. The problem I am facing is when it runs into family table parts. When I attempt to retrieve the component features from a family table instance it only ever returns the components from the generic. So then when the code attempts to recurse on certain parts in the family table generic it fails because those aren't in the instance and therefor not in session. I have confirmed that the assembly I am reading parts from is the instance as GetFullName() returns filename<filename> corresponding with the instance.
Hello, I'm trying to create a pattern of slots where the center of the radius of the slot follows a curve but the spacing is driven by a linear dimension. Using Creo 10. Tried using pattern along a curve but the spacing distance is along the curve not linear. Unchecking the "Follow Curve Direction" allows the slots to remain parallel. Any suggestions? Thank you,Shane
I have begun evaluating Creo 7 and have noticed that any mapkey that imports a config file is creating flashing windows when executed. These same mapkeys did not cause flashing windows in Creo 4. I have the config option visible_mapkeys no this has no affect on the behavior of these windows in Creo 4 or 7 in the context of the mapkeys in question. Does anyone have any idea as to why the windows are now visible in Creo 7? Any ideas on how to not have mapkeys create any visible windows unless pausing for input? This is the mapkey that is the root cause of the behavior. Every mapkey that has this nested into the definition causes flashing windows to appear. !* Load config file mapkey .ifcp @MAPKEY_NAMEImport config .pro;@MAPKEY_LABELRead config;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Select `main_dlg_cur` `appl_casc`;~ Close `main_dlg_cur` `appl_casc`;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Command `ProCmdRibbonOptionsDlg` ;\ mapkey(continued) ~ Select `ribbon_options_dialog` `PageSwitch
Creo 8.0Hello!I am student using Creo for my CAD course.I am at the end of the project and I have to use the ISO M"x" screws, which schould be in the creo Standard library (the course says it) to "screw" some parts together. However the library don't appear, I thought it was because of the config.pro file but I'm not sure and, anyways, have no idea of how to correct it.Here are some screenshots,Thank you for your help, I wish you a beautiful day.
Hi, I'm using Creo 11. I wish to know if it is possible to directly open a solidworks sldasm file and use the inseparable assembly/embed function so that I can keep all the data/childparts so that when I upload to windchill I only have the one assembly.
Is it possible to control the increment when using 3D Dragger to drag the section during creating Cross Section or to have a toggle in offset value area to increase or decrease the value for example by 0.5 or 1.
I am using Creo Parametric - Release 8.0 (connected) Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.4.0Hello, I need to make some custom color palettes for our organization. I haven't been able to find a detailed rundown of the structure of dmt files, and would like some help determining the meaning of each variable.I have seen opened some files and have seen:ambient_color - with 4 values scaled from 0 to 1diffuse_color - same values as ambientspecular_color - same values as ambient(Perhaps three of these values are scaled RGB, but I am not sure how to utilize these three sets of color definition.)diffuse - value 0-1ambient - value 0-1shine -value 0-1intensity - value 0-1reflection - value 0-1transparents - value 0-1index_of_refraction - value 0-?I believe some of the second group are tied to parameters than can be edited in the appearance manager, but the scaling is different and I don't think it has all of the listed variables as options.Any information or guides you can offer on creation of a custom d
hi All i want to write a simple code which exports an active model into a step file. nevertheless, i do not fully understand how the ExportIntf3D works. is there somewhere an example where i can check? i think its no big deal for someone who knows what he is doing 😄
I have had running Windows 10 and Creo 11.0.3.0.After I have upgrading Windows to 11, Ansys in Creo will not start. Creo stops with a fatal error. If I start Creo as an administrator, if runs with out problems. Does any of you know the problem, and that is it I shall have rights to? Allan
I am using Creo Parametric Release 6.0 and Datecode6.0.4.0The Creo Parametric 6.0.4.0. will perform slow when clicked on "View" Tab and then "Appearances" lead to performance issues, Mmany users reported issues on system with 32 GB RAM. Need to get resolution on priority due to project work. Here are the errors that I facedPerformance issues

I'm trying to export a drawing as a vector based PDF for suppliers to create files from. I have looked through all the export settings I can find:File>Save As>Type:PDF>Options>General/ContentFile>Save As>Export>PDF>Settings>General/ContentFile>Print>Settings>Print>Microsoft Print to PDF>Properties>AdvancedFile>Options>Configuration Editor>{literally anything to do with pdfs, vectors and rasters]ChatGPT suggested a number of options that don't appear in Creo 9.0 such as changing the 'Output Mode' to Vector, changing 'Raster Quality' and setting the PDF export method to 'PDF (2D vector)'. I feel like I've exhausted all the options I can find apart from maybe the strokes and pentable options but I think they'll still save as a raster without some other option checked. Does anyone have any guidance?
Hello, So right now I am designing a model with multiple assemblies and each having their own constraints and connections. I want to ask if it is possible to assemble all of them to one final model? if yes will all connections and constraints of each assembly remain?
Hello,we are migrating from Creo9 to Creo10 but I have an issue with the embedded browser only when I open Windchill. When opening Windchill both Workspace and Commonspace, the browser resolution is very very small and vey difficult to read. I've changed the DPI from the parametric.exe configuration but I either have this very small browser line or very blurred icons of the Creo software. For information I have no issue with the Creo9 we have used so far, same config, same DPI configuration, different outcome. Do you have any other suggestion about how to solve this issue? Thank you!BR,Giandonato
I am using Pro/ENGINEER and Creo Elements/Pro Release Wildfire 3.0 and DatecodeM070Hello. I have a customer who are using ProE Wildfire 3 + Pro Concept. He recently changed his computer and needed a new license archive due to HOST ID Change. The license has been updated correclty for ProE Wildfire 3 and the soft is now working, but, se has a troubleshooting with his soft Concept. Could you help us to determinte possible causes which are provoking the message attached below? Here are the errors that I facedptc_setvars.bat
I've consistently had this problem in Creo with curve patterns. You can see in the pictures that I have several sketches (3, 4, and 5) made to represent the horizontal curve of my bolting perimeter (shown by the rectangle). I'm doing this to control the bolt perimeter's major dimensions (length and width) but have the bolt hole pattern equally spaced along each side. I don't care about the hole center to center, I only care that they're equally spaced. The intuitive approach is to make a sketch with a projection of one of the rectangle sides as I've done with sketch 3. I then use a curve pattern to generate the instances, but to my dismay the start point is at the opposite end to where I made the original hole and there doesn't seem to be a way to change the start point. The inability to change the start point is very surprising considering most other features (sweep, datum point along curve) have the option to change start points. I've seen a solution previously to unlink th
While clicking around to see what different options did, I selected Single part surface and chose a surface in my General View, applied it, and thought "oh, this is hot garbage."Have we found a way to get out of this, or reverse it once you've chosen it? I can technically get my view back "looking" normal by choosing a surface that's not part of the part used to generate the general view, but the options are stuck like this as well as the View Display options are mostly grayed out. So my question is there some magical hotkey command to fix this or is there a way to reset a General View back to it's default options? Creo 9.0.6.0
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.7.0Is it possible to view the contents of the buffer populated by ProMacroLoad()? Is it possible to clear the contents of this buffer to prevent execution?
I'm having an issue with Sweep in a channel. I'm not sure why it doesn't cut as much on sides following walls. You can easily guess what the intent was. I'm not sure what went wrong with my idea of how to cut the shape actually. Also, it doesn't generate some rounds around as planned. EDIT: it sems like the cut sketch follows YZ plane in normal instead being normal to the intersect. I'm not sure how to force it to follow the intersection's normal.
Hi All, I have a part created in very old version of creo. The axis "AXS_HOLE_A" in it is built up using reference of two planes DTM33 & DTM34. See attached screenshot. I want to edit location of those two planes. However I am not able to find those two planes in the new latest version of creo. Can anyone please assist how to locate those two planes? Thank you very much in advance!
I am currently working on a project and encountering few challenges.I am confident that your expertise can provide valuable guidance to help resolve these issues. Project DescriptionI am developing hook-type clamps designed to securely hold the red tube. Both clamps lock via hooks and are bolted at the leg end to exert clamping force. Optimal design criteria for the clamps include following: (Length A) gap must be maintained after Assembly to ensure continuous clamping force on the red tube.(Length B) Must be at least equal to or greater than the tube size for proper fitting.(Length C) This length must exceed the clamp thickness to allow the bottom clamp to fit securely inside the top clamp.(Length A, B and C)-Refer Image The clamps are governed by geometric tolerances, with a profile of surface tolerance of 1mm along the inner surface. I have attempted to optimize the design manually using a trial-and-error method, creating different models under extreme conditions
Hi all, I am working on a data retrieval/CAD automation project, and currently I am using a combination of python with Creoson to extract bom data from Creo. Unfortunately, my company's CAD data is crawling with ghost parts which end up getting included in the output data and I haven't been able to come up with a good solution for filtering them out. I am able to find them manually via the find command as shown:The problem with this is that I have to manually go in and pick the parts using the feature info command or hover my mouse over to get the comp id and manually build a list that I can then use to filter the bom output. I would prefer if there were: A method to include the criteria I'm using in the find command to filter the output from Creoson's bom_get_paths function.A method to export the results of the find command with the comp id to an external file that I could read back into my python script to filter by.Or should I be working on cleaning out these gho
