Hi, We are changing our drawing format to change the layout. Below is my VB code to set the drawing with a new format. The code only half worked. The new format could be applied, but the old format stayed. I had been searching up and down and try to find if there was an option of "replace" but I couldn't find anything. The online VB help about "IpfcDrawingFormat" has no help at allCan anyone please help? Dim currentDrawing As IpfcDrawing = CType(session.CurrentModel, IpfcDrawing) 'Replace format Dim NewFormatName As String = "new-d.frm" Dim frmDescr As IpfcModelDescriptor frmDescr = (New CCpfcModelDescriptor).CreateFromFileName(NewFormatName) Dim NewFormat As IpfcDrawingFormat NewFormat = session.RetrieveModel(frmDescr) Dim sheets As Integer Dim i As Integer Dim CurrentShtOwner As IpfcSheetOwner CurrentShtOwner = CType(currentDrawing, IpfcSheetOwner) sheets = CurrentShtOwner.NumberOfSheets For i = 1 To sheets CurrentShtOwner.SetSheetForm
Hello everyone, I want to get a series of area data of a face, details are as follows:(1) the model is a square frustum, I want to get the area of the top face(Face 0, yellow face shown in the Figure 1) under different heights(distance between top face and bottom face, which is shown in Figure 2);(2) I created a plane(plane 1 in Figure 2) which is parallel to the top face, a sketch created on the plane is extruded to remove the all the entity above the plane, and then I can get the area of new top face(shown in Figure 3 and 4);(3) the plane moves along the y axis in certain step size, for example, d = 5mm, then I can get the area of top face in d=5, d=10,d=15..., besides, every time I get an area, I copy and paste it in a txt or word document. The problem is: If the height is very large and the step size is very small, for example d = 0.5mm, in this situation, I need to do the same action so many times, it’s very time-consuming and annoying, is there a way
At the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, humanoid robots are no longer just science fiction, they’re being developed for tasks such as assisting human workers in factories and even flying into disaster zones. We head inside IIT’s robotics lab with Daniele Pucci, Head of Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence to wave hello to some of the robots and explore how these advanced machines could become an integral part of our world in the next decade.
Why am I not able to get rid of that squares in red? It says fully constrained with no assumptions. Am I missing something? All degrees are arrested and still I see the square next to part in asm tree.! FRUSTRATING!!! 🙂
Hello everybody,I set up the graphics_library_dir config.pro line to customize the Appearance Library in Creo Parametric 7.When I go into the aspects, the personal ones are all dark and the bookcase does not show any aspects. The customized folder and sub-folder structure is exactly the same as the standard files that are in Coommon Filles etc.Is there a way to set a different one? (see images 1, 2 ,3) Matteo
Does a Design Exploration Session .tmu file capture a historical record of the design iterations within the Checkpoints even AFTER the session has been Accepted and then the models have been saved, i.e., are you able to open a DEX Session .tmu file and review the design progression, even after a Checkpoint was Accepted and saved to the models? The testing I’ve done indicates that the .tmu does not accurately store this information but when I watch tutorials and read literature on DEX, everything seems to indicate that it should store the historical record. Am I missing something? Doing something incorrectly? I’ve attached a PDF with the steps that I executed to test/evaluate my question. Creo Version 11.0.2.0Windchill Release 13.0.2.2
Hello,After removing or moving circular cuts by using commands under flexible modeling tabs, axes of cuts remain at their old place. I know you can move surfaces with their respective axes, but I need a way to delete them rather than moving. It is not the case when you use remove as well. I tried to find those axes from layer tree but did not work either. You can create new axes where you move the old cuts/holes, yet I need the erase old ones. If the explanation is not crystal clear, I can provide images. I am using Creo 9.Thank you.
In Creo drawings - Tables with “Fixed Index” – these are for BOM’s where if you delete a component, that line in the BOM gets skipped. My company is trying to use this, but it is very quirky. It often reverts back to previous BOM Item numbers. Is there a best practice doc? We’re trying to use Region rather than each Record. I assume someone is using this successfully?
Hi, We are using "Isofont.ndx" in our drawings. But we need to export them to PDF with Truetype font. I can chose the option to force it to use Truetype font but the default font is "Arial" and it is too wide. Can anyone help how to change this default setting to another type of narrower font? Thanks
Does Creo have a weld symbol for stud welds? If so where is it located? I have looked in the weld application under spot weld but I do not see anything.
hello, I am stuck on cutting this profile on the sphere by sweep command but another hand in solid work this cut feature is so simple just like 123 and done... I need to know how to make this cut in creo...please check the pic and videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mpd3U3dI2BU&t=9s time at 7:00 to 8:00 minutes.
Hi allIs there a way to show the names of user selected datum points in drawing views?Point Names coming from point cloud as these:Can be listed in hole table like this: but should as well showing up on a drawing view unlike this, because here I cannot specify the location by my self and I can not deselect unused points.and I do not like to activate the option, becaus this is a user setting and the names need to be on the drawing all the times. Does any body know a way to do it in a way that the names in the point cloud is linked to the name on the drawing view? Many thanks in advance for your inputs.Pius
I am using Creo 10.0.7.0 and I was used to taking my measurements without the measure tool on the fly for simple things to enhance productivity and speed. Is there someway I can make this happen in CREO?An example I already have a shortcut on the pop up menu but it's easier if I just click an edge or two faces and get an output immediately on the information on the message log.It already gives me outputs from the measure tool to the message log as shown below.I want it toGive priority to 'distance' and show distance in the message log, not perimeter or just show both.Output length every time I have selected an edge,Output radius each time I have selected a circle/arc,Output distance each I have selected two planes that are parallel to each other. Is it possible to have this in message log or someplace else?
Global Interference(SKIPPED) GLOBAL_INTFGlobal interference ran within 1 days. SKIPPEDwhy this is happeing in a model with a interference or without it as well
I created the assembly and parts using creo parametric student version. When I open and press the edit button for hatch. It gives an error which I attach as a screenshot and then the creo crashes closing all the windows. Previously I was able to edit from assembly or part 3d model enivrment. The first time I got this error when I tried to edit the hatch in the drawing environment and after then I am not able to edit it in either the environments. This appears from pressing the hatch edit button from the design tree in the sections part. Thank you for your help in advance. Regards
Hello everyone, how are you all doing?I’d like to pass over some buttons (manual created) in Creo 8 to creo 7, but I haven’t been able to find any shortcuts associated with them in the configuration. I also tried replicating the same configuration and toolbar setup in Creo 7, but the buttons didn’t show up at all. I found a folder containing the button image and a .res file, but I’m unsure how to implement these in Creo 7.What would you recommend I do?
Hi, Is there any possible way to enable or use autosave in Creo Parametric 6.0 ? We are working with large assemblies and program crashes suddenly if you are working something complex. Thanks in advance, -Enes
Hi, How can i move a function inside and outside of a grop that is repeated without having to redo everything? For example i would move these 2 function in this point. See attached picture Thanks
Hello,I often have to import assemblies. But usually the parts inside have a lot of names that interfere with existing part names (PCB.PRT; LED.PRT, ...). Importing it as Part works but than I loose the possibility to hide unhide sub-components of this import. My Idea: If I could import it as Part but the former parts and sub assemblies of the import assembly will get converted to Bodies of my new part. So the handling would be easy. When it doesn't work direct at the Import, maybe I can actively export the imported ASM as Part with Bodies.I didn't found a solution. Does somebody has an Idea how this could be done?Cheers!Nico
Hello Guys. We are struggling a bit with some "not very good" practices that are implemented by PTC in C++ Object Toolkit API. First is bad&ugly define which collides with default type from standard library. So inside of ciptype.h at line 68 we have # define optional which obviously is in conflict with std::optional (see cppreference) Second a bit strange approach we may find in: cipxobj.h and xstring.h both at line 17 using namespace std; According to not only CPP reference but to well known best practices it's bad idea: (see cppreference)The using-directive using namespace std; at any namespace scope introduces every name from the namespace std into the global namespace (since the global namespace is the nearest namespace that contains both std and any user-declared namespace), which may lead to undesirable name collisions. This, and other using directives are generally consider
Hello, I have a part similar to the one attached that I need to create three cutaways on in the same view. I am using the zone function to create them and am having some trouble. Using planes, I have figured out how to get two of them, but I can't seem to get the third. I have marked in red the location of the third cutaway in a screeshot below. Is there a way using the logic in the zone definition I can get the third in the same zone? Also, is there a way to edit the hatching on the zone? Thanks,
Hello All, I have a function that create a CSYS from another CSYS. It works fine when I use the command ProSelect and use the ProSelection in the function. ProError CreateCSYS(ProName name, ProMdl mdl, ProSelection CSYSREF, double tranX, double tranY, double tranZ, double rotX, double rotY, double rotZ) {} Now, I'm trying to create de CSYS without asking for the selecion prompt from the user.I'm trying to get the ProFeature of the CSYS and use the command ProFeatureSelectionGet(). But it doesn't work. I tryied many diferent ways and none worked. How can I get the ProSelection of a CSYS to use in my function without asking it for the user? I'm using Creo 8.0.10
I am using Creo Parametric Release 8.0 and Datecode8.0.12.0When i import the STP model in creo 8 , a receipt a surface instead of 3D model . When i try the same thing with fusion 360 and spaceclaim i receipt a 3D file .I think that it's due to a adjustment in creo . need helpHere are the errors that I facedno error
Hello community, I've been researching the possibility to plug in the output from Creo Mold Simulation (Warpage & Fiber Orientation) into Creo Simulate. It seems PTC hasn't created that capability and they seem to be suspiciously silent about it, either due to the complexity to implement it or lack of knowledge on how powerful this could be for our design and analysis, as they seem to have everything on hand to add this feature. If someone knows a solution or workaround to use CMA and Simulate together let me know. Thanks!,JD
Can someone help me create a program for exporting parameters to an Excel table using CREO SON? After that, I would like to modify the parameters and import them back."If you need help with specific steps or code related to this task, feel free to provide more details!
