Mathcad

Hi Everyone,I have been using mathcad for some time but it is not until recently i started trying the Given / Find functions.However, every time i try it, it gives me "This variable is undefined" error right after i enter the Find(...) command and hit the "=" button.I even tried to follow the quick sheet in the tutorial/help document and it is still happening.Could someone help me out?Greatly apprecitated!Alex J

How abysmal is the PTC support structure. We have paid for a Mathcad license but haven't been able to use it due to the lack of information and support to get the license.dat file.   Just chuck an email with some txt and that's job done! WRONG!!    Try and call them and you get ' sorry our office is now closed,  hours are between 9 - 5pm' when ringing the UK Support at 15:51 !!   We have paid for a product where I can get no support on it !!

Hi all, We have license server running a floating Mathcad license and as i understand it, it is possible to install Mathcad Prime and Mathcad 15 and perform a file conversion. We can start Matchcad 15, no problem, we can start Mathcad Prime, no problem. Currently though, any attempt to convert ends in a license prompt : Invalid Host (see attachment).   And ideas? Thanks in advance.  

Dear all,   I need to plot multiple functions in a singe graph but ideally would like to plot each of them in their own range. For example, x = 1 to 10, y(x) = sin(x) x = 5 to 15 g(x) = cos(x) x = 50 to 65 k(x) = (sin(x))^2   But if I try to plot all 3 graphs in a plot (x ranging from 1 to 100), I get 3 long curves (basically all 3 plots from 1 to 100). Is there any way I can curtail them ? I can do it using    plot_(x) := | plot(x)   if x > 1 (ctrl+&) x < 10                  | NaN otherwise    But is there a faster / smarter way to do this ?   Also, does mathcad have a plot function command (for ex; like matlab) ? I also have a variable for the number of graphs I need to show in a plot (for example, it need not be 3 like shown above, but 4 or 5 or 2 depending on user input). Currently I am planning to put 20 (safe estimate) graphs and setting the values to "NaN" if the value does not ex

I use Mathcad 15 and when I tried to insert excel file: From menu Insert and choose Data and then File Input In File Input window I choose Microsoft Excel Browsing file location and ticked use relative file path And then pressed button Later and went to another window In the field Worksheet when I opened list it was nothing there It was also nothing at field Named Range How can I chose Worksheet from excel file when I got nothing to select? Maybe Mathcad does not see excel file? Any tips or advice? Any help will be welcome. Thank you in advance

HiI have this set of UV data . I want to first fit a beseline to this set of data and then calculate the integral with regard to that baseline .i don't know if mathcad can do it , and if it can ,How?!?!?!

Hello,   I am trying to export data from Mathcad to excel. I have attached the file as I did. I am facing two problems with this  1) It is saying the units are not compatible 2) It is making a new excel file named as "Collect data"   I do understand that since I have named the destination file as "Collect data" that is why it is doing that but I want to export data in an already made excel file such that Mathcad will only export data at that excel file in a specific sheet (i.e., Sheet2) and start from a specific cell (i.e., A19). It will also overwrite in the same location whenever a change is made in Mathcad. Please help me out.   Thank you,   Faisal

Hello,   I am working with an array of positive and negative numbers. My logic involves such that it has to find the index value of a changed sign number immediately above. For example, in my array, if I work with "-4" it has to find the index number of "2", not "3". Similarly, if I work with "4" it has to find the index number of "-5", not "-4". I am still using MC 11. I was able to make a random square matrix called A of n dimension, with 1<n<1000 (infinite would have been better but my pc horse power is limited). A needed to be positive, with Max Eigenvalue  lower than 1. I used the following combination of formulas, which probably is not the optimum, but it works. 1): Z(z,z)=:rnd(1/n)    # so to have numbers that fulfill the condition MaxEval<1 2) A=: matrix(n,n,Z)   I would like to refine it, and I ask kindly advice. The constrains that I would like to add  in generating A are the following. a) Still a nxn square Matrix with Max Eigenvalue lower than 1. b) But A should be semi-positive, with random coefficients, including zeros and not just positive as above. c) However A should be indecomposable (called also irreducible), i.e. A^x  (with x a positive number) should turn a positive matrix. Good Day, I am trying to solve (symbolically) a system of two equations in two unknowns – I­­­min and Imax. These two unknowns represent the minimum and maximum current values, respectively. The answer written in the book (images below) is after simultaneous solution of both equations. I want to see the same result in MathCAD. I also attached my worksheet in MathCAD where I have attempted to solve for the two variables. However, I get a different answer and I do not understand where is Imin and where is Imax from the output that MathCAD provides. Please help me.

Does anyone know of a method to interpolate or upsample a "straight line" between 2 complex points?   For example, between points (1+1j) and (4+4j) get (arbitrary) 2 more points: (2+2j) and (3+3j). Or as shown in picture, get vector [Matrix?] Z (not exactly, but similar) from W.         

Hello, In MC Prime if you do Matrices/Tables/Insert table, you get a table with doodles and brackets etc in the headers to each column. How do you insert a simple table with say 2 rows and 3 columns without these headers, or how do you delete these headers and brackets. I want to insert a text table with part numbers. No math calculations

Can you solve it with Mathcad?

Does anyone have a clue as to the future of Mathcad? Will there be a Prime 6? I've been a user since 2.0 and have purchased many versions for work and personal use, but between the new license policy and the lack of progress since 15, I'm about to give up. Unfortunately, version 14 was the last I purchased for personal use. I'd pay the $600 to get 15 if the license was perpetual.    I wish PTC would retain the rights to integrate the Mathcad software with their other products and sell off the rights to develop the stand alone program to another company.  What a shame.

I am the company admin for the PTC MathCAD Prime 5.0 network license seats.  I want to know how to setup home use licenses for some key staff that would actually benefit from home use.  So far, the only instructions I've found belong to MathCAD Prime 1.0, however in MathCAD Prime 5.0, the licensing methods are very different.  I can see the Home Use license lines in my licensing report, but can not find out how to dish them out.  Please help.   Thank you,   jvj

I have Mathcad14 (32-bit) at installed on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine at work and Mathcad periodically stops working. A pop-up window states: "Mathcad Application has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."   This usually happens after IT pushes 'Windows Updates' on my machine, but not all the time.   I tried running the Mathcad licensing program MCLicense.exe and it complains about not being able to write licensing information to the registry, for which I have no access rights being a work computer. Having IT run this (with full rights) does not solve the problem either soit would appear that registry rights is not the root cause. Seems to be something amiss with the .Net framework. The standard way to fix this is to raise an IT service request to removes and re-install MathCad14. This takes about 30 minutes.   Has anyone else had this issue? What would be a quicker way to resolve it?

Hello everyone, Would really appreciate your help in an issue that I'm facing (in Mathcad 15)   I'm trying to fit two curves (parabolas) between two points (could be more later) and certain conditions (slope = 0 at so-so point).  The given/find equation seems to work fine, but I am not able to loop through it.The mathcad file is attached. Please allow me to quickly explain what I intend to do1) I'm defining two parabola as y(x) = Ax^2 + Bx + C and y(x) = Dx^2 + Ex + F 2) Parabola 1 passes through point (x0,y0), with slope = 03) Parabola 2 passes through point (x1,y1) with slope = 04) They must meet at some point in between (XM,ZM) with the same slopes Lastly I find the unknown variables (A,B,C,XM,ZM,D,E,F) and store them in a 8x1 matrix.But if I need to loop through n points, then I would like to use the same given/find in a loop and store all the calculated uknowns (A,B,C,XM,ZM,D,E,F) in an 8xn matrix. Hello everyone! I'm new here and also new to MathCad. I have an assignment that requires plotting. I have worked on this for hours but I don't seem to get the plots to come out the way they should.
