Mathcad

user installed new version of MathCAD 15-050 from SCCM Upon launch they receive Flexnet Licensing error  15,10. System error 10061 "winsock connection refused" I installed on an image and did not receive an error. Any solution?  

Situation: I'm calling a solve block (prime 4.0) multiple times for a variety of conditions.  Unfortunately, some of those calls don't converge, so I get no results.  I understand why it doesn't converge for some cases and that's not a big deal - if I can just get mathcad to move onto the next step.  So, what's a good approach for this?  I didn't have any luck using TRY since a failure to converge apparently isn't an error.     General question - so no examples attached.  But here's a simple hypothetical - solving for flow conditions along a pipe.  Each call would be at a different location along the pipe length.  If 10% don't converge I can still see the trend of parameters, so I'm happy to just ignore those failed cases.     Just looking for some ideas to try. Why does a 2 page Mathcad Prime worksheet create a 80 MB pdf document? I can get an entire book into 80 MB. Also when I zip it it shrinks down to 88 KB. What's going on here?

Dear friends,   This could be a little academic question 🙂   for optimization purposes, would it be possible to compute some precalculations inside a function only the first time it is called? As an example, the attached generalized interpolation function works fine, but to me it is a pity that the vector "vs" get recalculated anytime it is called.  To produce the plot, vs will be calculated hundred of times, all the times identical.  Let say that I "know" that vx and vy will remain the same.   I am perfectly aware that I could compute vs "outside" the function, making it a "global variable". I'm having some difficulty making a simple 2D plot.  Deleting all units permits this to be plotted, but I can't find the error when I do have units introduced.  I tried making a range variable, with no success.  I bet someone can take a glance at this and point out what I've done wrong pretty quickly.

I cannot get J or erg in SI. No problem in cm-gm-sec units system. Same with Prime! Why?

Hello folks,   does anybody have a SDF file converter or a function that does the trick? I'd like to read in directly SDF files in order to avoid the smug references of colleague who's converting it with a matlab routine 😉 I'm using MC15 w050 on a win 7, 62 byte machine.   Raiko

Hi! Did not find any question about is it possible to nicely (scientific, engineering) formatting not only the result but values in equations with explicit. I am using Mathcad to reporting my homework, so my professor should check it. Results are formated as scientific like 5.5x10^6. But when I using that value in equation w/ expicit it is looks like 5.4999999999999995E-05.  My professor rejected to check my work with this formatting in equations. It is unreadable and one value could take half of page. Sadness. As far as I googled it is impossible to format with explicit. Do you know any other CAD software which does not have this issues? Thank you!

I am looking for help solving a system of equations for multi-effect evaporation on Mathcad. I am relatively in experienced and despite trying for hours and being successful solving simpler equations I have been unable to solve this problem.   Mathcad is reporting an error with the solve box and I am unsure what I need to do to make this work. I've attached the mathcad file I'm trying to solve and appreciate any help.

Hi all.   For Mathcad Prime, a certified Windows 10 version has been available for some time, and for Mathcad 15 a Windows 10 certified version has just been released, perfect. But unfortunately none of the two will be able to fetch a FlexNet (floating) license over the 'new' Windows 10 DirectAcces VPN (IPV6). We are currently using the Citrix VPN for our Windows 7 platform where the FlexNet licensing works ok. On the Windows 10 platform DirectAccess will be replacing the Citrix VPN. Does anyone know of any kind of solution, and hopefully a new release for Mathcad (Prime) will in the near future be able to fetch a floating license over the DirectAccess VPN connection?   Regards Christian

Hey! Im having big problems with the addition. In the first picture you can se how 1/alpha is added to 2/lambda without 1/alhpa being under the division. This is my problem I'm trying to recreate it but nothing works. The second Picture is how i manage.
