Does anyone know of a good way to pass temperatures into an Excel component? The method of "stripping" the units by dividing by the units doesn't seem to work with temperatures. The workarounds I can think of are not very elegant. Thanks!

Hello.. Apologies if this appears twice. I tried to post a question yesterday but it did not go through.I am new to Mathcad so I am sure this is a trivial question for the experts.I am building a program which manipulates a bunch of 1x400 vector arrays then integrates 2 of the arrays (Runge-Kutta). The final result of one of the integrations is then minimized with respect to frequency. No problem with minimizing a simple analytic function, but I must have a bad syntax here.So I built a simple exercize below to make it easier to see my mistake.GivenWhere am I going wrong?Thanks, Al

Hi, I am trying to create a mathcad file with another mathcad file as a reference.I have test1 file with test2 as a reference using the relative file path. I am trying to pass a=3 from test1 to test2. it works when I first create the variables, however, the variable doesn't update unless I close and reopen the sheets. I already tried the recalculate button.Is this a bug or is there some problem with the way I am doing it?  Thanks

Hi,first of all sorry for my poor English.I've a little trouble with mathcad usage; for sure is a silly question but this is my very first approach to function programming.i've three vector (not range variables) filled with symbolics value only in some position and zero valuein others.This came because i've specified some value of interest of the vectors like for example :vect_1(13):= v1+v2           (of course with right  mathcad syntax..here i can't write pedix - not literal pedix of course)vect_1(38):=v1-v2           (in general each element is a function of v1 v2.. vn coordinates)so mathcad create a vector "vect_1" filling the place at 13 and 38 with my desidered symbolic values ; set zero in other place.With these 3 vector now i've to cycle and , for each element ,i  want to store in other new vector the result of this formula:result(i) = 0.5 * vect_1(i)^2  * vect_2(i

Hi, I am wishing to solve a Hertzian contact problem for sub-surface stresses for multiple points in order to plot contours. The solution routine uses Polyroots to extract the maximum root for use in the calculation and works fine for a single point. Is it possible to automate the process in a loop for variable x, y and z using Polyroots? I tried a couple of attempts but get errors.Any assistance would be appreciated.Thanks Ross

Hi All, I am trying to solve a geometric problem. A typical geometric series can be written like this, where N and M are two commensurable constants, i is the imaginary unit.  For this kind of geometric series, it can be derived by hand that it is equal to If we are trying to solve this expression, by introducing a (k-1) as a coefficient of the exponential function, how can we solve it? HelloI have been using MathCad 3.1 for about 5-6 months as a tool for calculating and taking notes in physics, math, electrical engineering and so on. Most of my .mcdx documents contains a wide variety of text, calculations, plots and images. Usually I have no problems with MathCad. However i cannot open a specifik file containing valuable notes on electrical and magnetic fields. The content is valuable to me, mainly because my exam on the subject is in 2 days, but I can get by without.But I would really like to know the cause of this problem, because if this is a consistent problem and i will, for no appearent reason, loose some files every now and then, then i cannot continue using MathCad. It could completely ruin and exam.The nature of the problem:I have not opened the file for at least a month. It worked fine the last time though. Now when i try to open it, it says "The file type is not supported" and it points to a log file. After searching for a solution on the internet i found

Hey Guys,recently I got a license for Mathcad Prime 3.0 (Academical Version) and tried to install Mathcad on my PC.I had no problems with installing or licensing later on.First startup also no problem.But when I am trying to do something with it, it starts freezing and there is no way to get control back.Mathcad is working on the devices from class mates using the same Operating System.System Specs (might help you):Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64bit version 1511 (build 10586.218 for the nerds ^^)16 GB of Ram and nVidia gForce 960mand SSD for operating driveThings I tried already:.) Run in compatibility mode in windows 8 and 7.) Reinstall with all Mathcad data removed.) Install with license.dat.) Run over internal graphics card (Intel HD 530).) Run as Administrator.) Mathcad 15 will let two users open the same file without warning.Mathcad 2001 would warn you if a file was in use by another user.How is this even possible?
