HI Iteration help, please. Mathcad Prime 7 attached.
Hello, I am trying to do a finite difference to solve the differential equation and compare it with the analytical solution. I am not sure why I am not getting the plots to work out. I attached both Mathcad-15 and Prime 7 files. I converted 15 to Prime7. Thank you, Sam
Hi, we are working on a project and we can not figure out why our solve block is having errors. We are looking to optimize the flow rate, but we need to find all the friction factors and Reynolds numbers, and pressure changes in each pipe. We are using the Chen equation, which includes flow rate and Reynolds number. Please help! Also, any other tips would be greatly appreciated!!
Hello! I am trying to write this formula: It uses the previous result (i-1) to calculate the next result (i). How should it be written in mathcad? Right now I get an overflow or infinite recursion error.
Hello All, I was wondering if any of you had a chance today if you could take a look at this Mathcad file. I have highlighted the area where my given/find code breaks and I am not sure what is the issue. Thank you very much.
I'm getting an error on requesting free license when installing Mathcad 15, after just installing Mathcad Prime. I'm using windows 10. When acquiring the license in the last step a box pops up-Unexpected error The server committed a protocol violation. Section=ResponseHeader Detail=CR must be followed by LF.
Hello, Per this post here - urgent help needed! Can someone help convert attached XMCD file to MCDX? Many thanks! Lei
Hi all, I'm currently trying to run a quick check on my Mathcad worksheet that populates a "Yes" or "No" to validate whether the section modulus value is above the required one. When I place the yes and no variables in the program it says they're undefined. I switched them to the "keyword" label in hopes that would remedy my situation, but unfortunately I have the same issue. Attached is a snippet of what I currently have in the worksheet. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
Hello, I'm quite new to MathCAD and I'm having problems with a unit somewhere in this BCGA pressure drop calculation. The error is "This value has units: Length^2 . Time^-2, but must have units: Pressure^2. There is one input in the formula that is unitless (Specific Gravity), I wondered if this was causing the issue. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Hi everyone, I am working on a force analysis for a kinematic mechanism. I have been able to resolve most of the errors that I'm seeing, except for a few. I have two declaring that the value must be a vector, and I'm not entirely sure how to correct this. I also have two errors saying my array index is invalid when I'm simply trying to label my variables. Any help here is greatly appreciated. The file is attached.
Having a problem getting the following to work, I think it's really just logic, as trying to use to determine which one equation from 4 should be being used!
Hi all I am trying to include Mathcad files where I use a variable as a part of the file name. i.e. when I change the variable, the name of the included file changes. I want this for Mathcad 15 and Mathcad prime. Thanks
I downloaded and installed Prime 7.0 and the new converter that is supposed to convert MC15 worksheets to Prime 7.0 worksheets. The first two MC15 worksheets I converted were claimed to have been converted, but did not work properly in Prime 7. The more complicated one had a plot which uses a format that may not be supported in Prime 7, but the second file is a mystery. It is an extremely basic worksheet, so basic that it could be argued that I'm wasting the power of MC, but the file does use units. After conversion, the Prime 7 worksheet would not work until I removed and replaced at least some of the units and the PI symbol. It seems as if the converter is unable to properly recognize and convert unit symbols and PI. If so, this is a massive fail. Three files are attached. The MC15 file, the Prime 7 file as converted, and the converted Prime 7 file as fixed. If I am making some stupid mistake, please let me know.
My print to PDF does not fully print Pages on the right side. Chops off most of the right-hand side of the sheet. This is what the PDF looks like. Eg: The visible part when I try to print is: This is what the Prime 7screen looks like. Any particular settings I have to enable? Thanks
Hi all, See attached worksheet. I took these equations out of a engineering paper and I cannot get them to work. The find function is creating an error. Thanks, Dan
I've added the following solution to the Rosetta Code task: Function Composition The new Mathcad entry is at https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Function_composition#Mathcad This would be better implemented in Mathcad 15 or full Mathcad Prime (ideally a version before PTC removed partial application) - these versions would (should) allow a cleaner and more functional version of compose. Hello Experts Need some help with iterating the solutions with time as a variant. Castle
Hello! Is there, in Mathcad, some possibility to hide the units in equation, which is presented using explicit function from Symbolic toolbar, and show unit again at result? Why Mathcad do not have such possibility to hide units in some part of equation and present them again if this is necessary for example at result? Best regards,Illimar Kalk
This non-Western font (in the red circle) has been appearing for some time in the print preview phase. Is there a way to delete it and not make others appear?I thank those who will answer me.
Together with my students, I made animation that helps to understand what a cubic spline is. One student sent me this beautiful spline
Hi all, first post here. I'm trying to learn a bit more of Mathcad, instead of solving problems on several lines of Excel for a finite discretization. The problem I’m studying is a very real and common situation of cascade gas filling. It consists of a source (infinity size for simplicity) feeding start-empty vessel (1atm) thought a regulator valve that obey a function critical or sub-critical flow rate f(Delta P), until both source and vessel pressure are equalized. Then plotting a Pressure Vs Time for that system. The pressure would ramp up (critical flow), then level horizontal to zero flow as the pressure accumulation at the end. I want to keep the math simple, in the future to add z-factor for the gas compressibility factor. p1=pressure source p2=pressure vessel (to be filled) T=temp (constant) V=vessel volume Cg=valve flow capacity SG=relative density MW=gas molecular mass ni=mole at P_tank empty (1 atm) nf=mole at P
How do you do the gradient of a column vector in Mathcad Prime 6 like I've done in Mathcad 15? See attached picture.
I previously posted a version of this question, but did not get any response. So I decided to rephrase and try again. I have been trying to compare the solvers (BDF, Radua, Stiffr and Stiffb) for stiff odes. Could be doing something stupid but BDF is the only one that I can get to run consistently. For the others I get error messages I do not understand (in this context): "The return value of this function must match the problem size" "This value must be real" (BTW. Documentation says Stiffb does not work for more than 8 equations, but it seems like it should be "8 or more". 7 worked. 8 did not.) Thanks to anyone who chimes in. If you run the worksheet, be patient. It takes a while to calculate.
I've added the following solution to the Rosetta Code task: Ackermann Function Here is the link to the solution on the Rosetta Code site: https://rosettacode.org/wiki/Ackermann_function#Mathcad Stuart
I need to rant about how rubbish Prime is, so I am looking at the support renewals and its coming in at like £3k for my current licenses. We only use MathCAD 15 as prime's functionality is so poor compared to MathCAD 15. So what am I paying for? I sat through a 30min webinar on Prime 5.0, the only thing that they had done was add a graphing app, I had to temper my annoyance that that was the focus for the prime 5.0 release. What about the simple stuff:- 1. Why have they changed how you do subscripts! Every time I type a variable I add a subscript, this is now a two button operation. Did the developers ever open up MathCAD 15? I have been through multiple software upgrades on AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor etc none of them just decide to change how the user fundamental interacts with the software. 2. Why are there no formatting styles available? Prime is there to present maths in a nice consistent format so we can deliver it to our clients, did the developers forget that the output from
