I try to find the derivative of u.somehow i not clear with the meaning of this equation.can someone explain to me? thanks in advanced.kindly refer to attached mathcad15 file.

When I have a while loop that goes as long as x does not equal 1.0, then it does the operation x = x + .1. The result is an infinite while loop. Why does this happen

I am trying to use the Given - Find Solve Block to determine the embedded length for a circular pile foundation given in an ASCE article, "Resistance to Overturning of Single, Short Piles", E. Czerniak, Journal of the Structural Division, Paper 1188.  The attached worksheet contains an equation for the required length for a given pile diameter with a set of lateral and vertical loads.  Any comments on why the error message resulting from the Find(L) statement would be appreciated.

Hello, new at using Mathlab 14, I have a problem with unwanted variable's value change based on it's location on the worksheet. In the attached file, variable's K33,5 value changes by moving it above/below worksheet's first horizontal line and I cannot understand why. Help needed.

Dear All,I am again coming to you with an issue I have related to work I am doing from a text book this time on the topic of integration as summation. The text book is trying to prove that integration is essentially the summation of an infinite number of rectangles. I have inserted images of the text in question as this is easier (sorry for this being sideways).The example looks at a simple graph of y=x as seen in the below images. The problem I am having is I understand the concept, indeed I know that to find the area under the line y=x can be derived algebraically by integrating x to give x^2/2 and calculating for x=4 and x=2 and taking one from the other to get an area of 6 units^2.However, following the example in the text book in the second image I can't see how the penultimate line of lim n to infin 4/n *n + lim n to infin 4/n^2*n(n+1)/2 gives 4 + 2 = 6. I can see that 4/n*n will give 4 as the ns cancel but on the other side I see that 4/n^2*n(n+1)/2 should give 4n^2+n/2n^2 would

Hi All, I sometimes use the excel function in Mathcad to aid with some back end processing. One of the things that bugged me in Prime 3.1 was that you could not use an excel component which had VBA macro's in. WHY?When Prime 4.0 came out I would have thought that this would have been corrected, but no I still cant use macro enabled excel sheets.As this is an issue for Mathcad, as its not an issue for excel could you not include a function that just links to the excel component and runs it. you have a read functionREADEXCEL("filename...")Can you not just have a WRITEEXCEL, RUNEXCEL commands which would solve the issue as it would run in the native office suite. If this is not to your liking then could you please put the ability to incorporate macro based excel sheets in!!!!

I have some parametric in motor torque calculation, for example: motor speed: 2000 Pulse/round, or 360 deg/r.but i can't find unit of "degree" or "deg/r" in MathCAD Prime 4.0.  How to add costume unit, or how to give the unit deg/r to value?

I graphed a line in the x y plane that begins at  (-9,6) and stops at (2,4). This is because a college algebra book asked to consider the distance FROM P1 (-9,6) TO P2 (2,4). The authors then mention that the "midpoint formula is a bit more complex that it looks and is actualy a special case of a geometric theorem. Something about the ratios of the distances. Exploring this I then decided to use the mathcad software to create the two right triangles that would be associated with these three points. The point (answer) is P3 (-23/5,26/5). The reason I wanted to create these two right triangles is just to explore my ability to integrate the areas and compare the ratios. And I did it!  My graph of the line that starts and stops at P1 and P2 is defined as f(x). To make the two triangles I wrote a program g(x) that uses inequalities and operators. In the placeholder for x and y however the g(x) is stated as g(a) and the x placeholder is x,a. I am not able to post a worksheet. But i

MathCAD 15 has a different idea of "trace" than MathCAD prime, and it is this difference that is preventing me and my group from transitioning to Prime.The way that trace worked in MathCAD 15, is when you had an x/y plot in front of you, you could right click on it, select trace, and then use your mouse to move the trace around the graph.  Being able to use your mouse in this way is very powerful.This function is very heavily used by MathCAD users (before Prime), and the lack of this function is IMO the main drawback of Prime.Prime's UI before 4.0 was also too slow to use.  It took me longer to complete designs in it relative to 15 because of the response time of the UI.  Prime 4.0 feels faster, so hopefully this hurdle is now resolved.  Actual computations in Prime were fast, but the UI was very slow.

Hi,If someone could please advise on the followings.Our company bought Mathcad Prime 3.0 licenses.One of our users (based in Britain) wants to know if Roark Toolkit is available in Mathcad Prime 3.0.e opened and tested, but did not see Roark Toolkit (or say this function) in it.Some suggestion in the internet indicates that Roark Toolkit was available in old Mathcad Prime, and we'll have to pay additional cost for getting it in Mathcad Prime 3.0.Is this true?If so, could someone please give a official link for all the information, including price, installation guide, how to buy it...etc?Thanks!/zhubk
