Hello everyone!   I am working on Creo Parametric 3.0 Student Edition without Windchill (student here). I have one main assembly file with some sub-assemblies in it. I was working on one of the sub-assembly's parts and constantly saving it between creation of parts. The gist of it is that my laptop fans turned all the way up, and I felt that the laptop was about to hang (has happened before) so I saved the assembly (It saved), did a "Erase not displayed", and exited the program. On restart, it said that one of my fasteners (from the Intelligent Fastener Extension) was unable to be found and I clicked "Ignore". The model that opened was an incomplete one that was missing many parts. All parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies are saved in the same local directory. I had imported some STEP files too, which were there, some of the others from later were missing. Something I noticed was that my working directory was now set to my "temp" folder, where I found tiny Trail files. I find these h

To all,   I am looking/thinking about something and would like to know if it’s possible to create vectors populated with random numbers. I have only started thinking about it so don’t throw a stone at me if it’s so obvious.   In the attached mcad 15 sheet, I have an equation which is the sum of j-values (j=3 in my example) Is there a way of generating the values in the vectors in a random way so that the vector length is changed by the user? For example I may want a 1st pass with j=10, then j=20 and maybe j=100   The constraint is that for the vector fnv: f1 < f2 <f3<…<fj   Would this be better set-up as a MonteCarlo problem using mcad buil-in function   Thanks in advance

I understand that my S 2 and L x are both defined as vectors.  I’m using a comparison operator (<) that compare scalars, not vectors.  I have no clue how to make an if/else if statement work.  Any assistance or advice would be extremely appreciated.

We have an application which needs to run in the control room of the plant. This screen should show 24/7 without having to re-login by the operators. I know we can set the Session Idle time for all the users, but this is not preferred because also other users can access the application (and other application on the same platform) where people can have the session timeout to not be logged in without knowing.    I found a post to track user activity in the mashup and then run a timer to logout users actively but this also not ideal because we then need to do it for every mashup/application we have build.      Thanks for helping out.     

Hello,   I am running Creo 5.0.4.0 and Windchill 11.1 on Windows 8, 64 bit.   Every time I close my Creo browser, my server settings are lost. When I launch Creo again, I have to register my company's Windchill server in order to access Cabinets/Commonspace and my Workspaces. I have to do this every time I launch Creo.   I have tried changing my Windchill "browser" to Chromium and IE, and forcing IE9. None of these options work. Additionally, I have added the "dm_remember_server yes" to my config.pro file.   Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Will opening a ticket with PTC be my best bet? Thanks.

Hi, I cannot create new product on Windchill 11.0 M030. I logged in site administrator and click "View All" of Products tab, but there ware not "New product" button.   It has any other necessary setting properties?

Created custom extension as per tutorial https://developer.thingworx.com/en/resources/guides/eclipse-plugin-thingworx-extension-development-tutorial/completed-example-create-extension   Import enable is configured in PlatformSettingsConfig   While importing extension getting following error. [context: Extension Exception][message: Extension package import failed. See error log for more details.]   Tried Debug log, no more information in logs. Same error with marketplace extension too   How to debug this?   Even though I change ImportPolicy to false still getting same error  

I've built Vuforia Studio App that's using ThingWorx services and my AR app demonstrates Thingworx Thing's Parameter value in Vuforia 3D Gauge .Parameter (its value) is transported from TWx to Studio project well, but I cannot restrict very long decimal part of the parameter's value for Studio visualization in 3D Gauge. In ThingWorx it has two integer digits and 6 decimal but my Studio Gauge can show no more than 3-4 digits at all. How can I round XX.XXXXXXX value from TWx to XX.XX in Studio ? Could I roung XX.XXX from ThimgWorx to integer value (XX) for Studio project purposes?

Hello, As mentioned in release notes of Thingworx 8.4, the repeater widget is now categorised as legacy widget. And I can see there are problems using the repeater in Thingworx 8.4 as compared to previous versions of Thingworx. I wanted to know if and what is an alternate to that widget. Thanks Aditya

Hello, I have a Remote thing, in which I have all the properties as persistent and logged. Those properties are binded to properties of another Generic thing, where these properties are also persistent and logged. Now whenever I restart my Remote thing, all the properties in Remote thing are reset to 0 (zero). And because the same properties are binded to my Generic thing, those are also reset to 0 (zero). What is the reason for this behaviour? How can I prevent this? Another interesting thing to note here is, if I query the properties from my generic thing, I can see that it returns the valuestream entries with latest timestamps (which were sent by Remote thing in previous sessions, before restarting it). However, if I execute the service, get current time, I get as Jan 1, 1970. Any help on this aspect would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Aditya Mittal

Hi, I am trying to install ThingWorx-Platform-Mssql-8-4-1 on my windows instance and I am facing the attached error which is terminating the installation.    Steps I followed :  1. Downloaded the installer file ThingWorx-Platform-Windows-FoundationInstaller-Mssql-8-4-1 (144 MB) from https://support.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/product.jsp?prodFamily=TWX 2. Created an user in MsSQL with required SysAdmin and DB access credentials 3. Extracted the downloaded installer file and tried installing by providing the required MsSQL DB parameters with the user credentails. 4. Installation started and got terminated half way due to the above error.

Hi, Is it possible to bind the kepware channels in a combo box and when I choose one channel it should populate the respective tags in that channel.   For eg: If there are two channels, Equipment 2 and Equipment 2, I need to bind these two channels in a combo box. And when I choose Equipment 1 from combo box the tags inside the Equipment 1 has to be populated in another combo box. Same has to be done when I choose Equipment 2.   Thanks in advance, Shalini V.

Hi, I am trying to extract the text from a drawing table and save it to a text file. I am able to get a hold of the table that I want to extract text from, but struggle to get the text. Here's what I have so far: If I leave the "MyTextChar" line I get a fatal error in CREO. The parameter "&CurrTbl" is a table I select earlier in the code base on a criteria (this part works). My goal is to replicate the export to CSV, but with a different delimiter and also control better the output filename.   Thanks

The following message is the error I receive when trying to view a Windchill representation in Creo View:   "Failed to load the file. Check the Adobe Acrobat or Adobe installation."   My machine is currently running Creo View 3.1 M010 build 27. Is there anything I can troubleshoot?
