Hello, I have the same request as this thread made a long time ago :Model Parameter = Today's Date | CommunityAnyone out there know how to set a model parameter equal to Today's Date?Specifically, I'm looking for a way to set the date of a parameter equal to today's date during the creation of a new part or assembly.There was a proposition to  add the parameter (&todays_date) into your template.I cannot make a parameter named “&todays_date”I created a parameter named “DESIGN DATE” with the value “&todays_date” in the part template. When I create a new part with this template, the parameter remains “&todays_date”.Is it me who does not make this right or is there another way ? 

Hello everyone, I'm using Windchill 13.1.4.0 Rev 01 (a virtual machine downloaded from the PTC website). I'd like to create a button (with an icon) to insert into the Windchill Contents folder so that clicking the button modifies an attribute of the selected row. The figure below shows the panel where I'd like to insert the button. I tried adding an action in custom-actions.xml and custom-actionModels.xml, but nothing appears. Any suggestions?BRDimitri

We are working on upgrading Windchill 13.0 to Windchill 13.1 version. Source Windchill is having WindchillDS. So, as part of upgrade we are trying to install WindchillDS on target server, then complete upgrade and then migrate users to Active Directory & decouple WindchillDS (referring PTC article # Article - CS337554 - [Knowledge Hub] WindchillDS Removal & Migration to other Directory Servers) I believe WindchillDS is require as temporary step for upgrade activity. But WindchillDS installation is failing on new target server (RHEL 9.8) with below error. Has anyone faced similar issue? I am using Windchill PDMLink Release 13.1 and Datecode with CPS 13.1.0.2 I created a configurable Describe Link for two document subtypes. For the parent document subtype, the Describe Link is visible in the UI. However, for the child document subtype, the Describe Link is not visible in the UI.

Hoping someone might have already solved this one and be willing to share their approach. By default any floating point number passed to an EPMDocument from a CAD file has the precision set to the max (14 I think), which means the value has to show using scientific notation, which is not easy to read. There is a configuration option to ignore precision, but then you lose all precision on all attribute values on all objects, which does not meet our requirements. Ideally I would like to control the display of those particular attributes to limit the number of significant figures, which is going to take some level of customisation. Perhaps modifying the data processor to change rendering for a configured list of attributes, or catching the store of the attribute value and reducing the precision.Has anyone tackled this issue, able to share any details or lessons learned?

Hello,   We're trying to create a front-end configuration tool based on data in windchill. This data consists of a configurable part with a set of components which have expressions on them. Based on the choices made in the optionset you can 'configure' your new part.To create this front-end we'd like to fetch the configurable part and its BOM, the assigned option set with its options & choices, and the associated include/exclude/conditional/.. rules that go with this option set.   Getting the configurable part is pretty straight forward with the REST services (1.7), but the optionset with options,choices and rules proves more difficult as I can not find the right API endpoints. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I just purchased and installed Arbortext Editor 8.3.3 with Desktop Composer. I was able to download and install the application with no apparent issues. However, when I launched Arbortext Editor for the first time I received this error message: Licensing Error[A31679] Arbortext Editor was not able to obtain a licenseThe PTC_D_LICENSE_FILE is not defined, so there are no license sources.Details: Requesting Arbortext Editor…c:\flexlm\license.dat: (-1) Cannot find license file.I think I can resolve the issue if I can find the license file, but I am getting conflicting information on this web site.I am sure there is a simple solution, but apparently finding the solution is not so simple.

With the 13.1.4 patch there were some “enhancements”  made to the rich text editor.There is increased functionality allowing users to embed images directly into the fields, but we are noticing some unwanted trade offs already. The text box is smaller. Change Notices that have a lot of text are now reduced to a smaller viewable box, where 13.1.2 it was almost double. Users also cannot select words or lines out of the text box, but the entire field of text.Is there any way of getting around this? Reverting the field to a plain text field is not an option at this time.

I am trying to sort a column of a 2D repeat region table, how do I do this? The 2D repeat region table is derived from a family table. I do not want to change the way the original family table is sorted. I would also like to re-order the parameter name columns in the table. I am using Creo 2.0. Thanks for your help!

Hi there,after successfully Installing Windchill 13.0 including working Solr-Server and working “search” within windchill, I migrated my data to that new location.all issues in upgrademanager were solved successfully.I can accesss my files and all data is shown. I even can checkout files with Creo Parametric and check them in again.But Indexing does not work at all. Solr - Server is running. I can login via http://localhost:8085Credentials for solr are set in Windchill via xconfmanager -s wt.index.solrAdminUser=<User> -t codebase/WEB-INF/conf/index.solrAuth.properties -pxconfmanager -s wt.index.solrAdminPassword=<Password> -t codebase/WEB-INF/conf/index.solrAuth.properties -pBut queue is not starting.The number of “remaining items” is stuck at 20k+ items, the number of processed Items is stuck at zero( Site → Utilities → Indexing Administration ).I tried “windchill wt.index.BulkIndexTool” in windchill’s hell and I got this:Core 'wblib' is selected.

I want to scale M(x) equation by a scalar (0.805). Is there a way to do this without making my expressions unitless? After searching online for info about the error statement, I could not find a workaround. Note: whenever 0.805 is not applied to M(x) the equation graphs properly. M(x) is defined in kip-ft.

When creating a Change Notice from a Part Details Page Actions it does not add the part automatically to the affected objects table in the CA. IS there a preference for this ?

We are upgrading from Creo 10 to 13 and noticed mapkeys where removed from the config.pro in Creo 11.  In Creo 10 we have a global config.pro on a network drive that is loaded when users start Creo and can be updated by the admin at any time.  In Creo 13 (11 and on), the admin mapkeys only seem to work when being stored in C:\Program Files\PTC\Creo 13.4.0.0\Common Files\text\mapkeys.pro.  This makes changes difficult and requires updating the file on every users PC to make a change.  I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this and any potential solutions would be appreciated.

We are planning to use some AAX extensions to our global licensses PROE_DesignEssG.Is that possible and how can that be achieved fo specific selected users. 

I’m trying to work out a way of displaying information relating to the time spent between states in a work item, eg how long it was in Status A before it went to Status B…. I’m guessing a computed field would work per item, but ideally I’m looking for a report that would give an average across a tracker eg, the average time for work items to go from State A to State B. I’m sure someone must have done something similar to this so putting it out there for suggestions… Any assistance appreciated!

Dear All, I am trying to communicate FX5 with Kepserver, however failing to connect despite different trials. I have set PLC setting to SLMP setting with both TCP and UDP port and set it accordingly on the Kepserver. Still not able to communicate with the PLC with Tags value as BAD.I am attaching the pictures for reference also.  

We are using two life cycle for our product. CAD item and WT partCAD item which is used for Drawing release- Concept/ Release/InworkWT part which is  for shop floor people to Identify wehter the product is Prototype/production.For CAD item to show inthe drawing  - we use &PTC_WM_LIFECYCLEFor WT part to show in the drawing - we use &PTC_WM_PART_STATE_FOR_DRAWINGwe cant add this parameter in the drawing. its throws error (The name is  reserved ).Please help us.Thanks in Advance.

Hi,I installed Creo 13.4.1.0. When I click on "Creo AI Assistant," the program prompts me to log in; I enter the same email and password I use for the PTC portal, but it doesn't work.Has anyone else experienced this? Currently we do not have any WVS configuration, and as our understanding, configuring a WVS worker and letting WVS publish workflow works properly require bit tough development effort. Hence, if the doPublish API must be used upon a proper WVS configuration, we will look for another way. Could you kindly answer the question if the doPublish API can be used without Windchill Visualization Service configurati

I'd like to retrieve the license count and consumption that we have in Windchill so that we can report on that in Dynatrace. I'm looking for any opportunities to retrieve via API, output to logs, or any other creative way to retrieve that information from Windchill. Being able to see our license consumption in Dynatrace would be very helpful.  Has anyone else done something like that before?

Hi there,I am trying to install Windchill.But when I start the installer via RDP on a computer with a 4k monitor, I get this:Title, side bar and headings are quite readable.  But all input fields (text, dropdown, checkbox, etc. ) a tiny and not readable.The text lines are only 5 pixels “tall”. Is there a trick?  

Hello!We have 2 users with 2 different computers reporting the same issue with their prime files.I don’t know if it has something to do with the latest august Windows 11 Cumulative update (KB5121003)?The issue started happening yesterday after the users updated their Windows 11.When we try to Save as PDF or use the Print function we get the same errors. And we have tried several PDF printers. It only creates a .PDF file with 0kb in size. I uploaded 2 files that we are experiencing this issue with.
